As the very last light of day disappeared from the sky, a cool night breeze rustled the trees on the edge of the forest. Red eyes peered out from high among the branches, peering towards the tavern. The assassin was so well hidden among the dark branches and the thick leaves it would almost be impossible to see him unless one was actually looking for him. This was the way he liked it.
Breathing in the cooling air, the drow looked down at his hands, clenched into fists. This was the first time he'd come back to town in days....weeks.... since the confrontation involving himself, Ashen and....Lin. Thinking about his childhood friend caused his brow to crease. All of this time he thought Kilindyl was dead...gone; when in reality for decades he had been alive...thinking that his brother had betrayed him and left him to die.
Fallen swallowed. He knew he needed to talk to the half elf, and he knew he would find him in the tavern. But something was keeping him away. Just as it was keeping him away from Ashen. After she had scared Kilindyl into teleporting away from their reunion, he had yelled at her before storming off himself. Now he didn't know how to face either of them...or what to say....
Having friends was hard....

Ashen dart in-between trees and brush as fast as her legs would move. the Wind howling in her feline ears. Trees zooming past her vision as chased a well built buck. Leaves wiping her as she continued to carry Banshee in the ready. tall grasses began making small cuts on her legs and arms and even her tail. she didn't feel the pain, only focused on the hunt.
'damn! this one is fast!' she cursed as she began to tire chasing the beast. finally in one final effort she leapt up grabbing a low branch throwing herself into the air, aiming at the beast within her backflip. in that moment time seemed to stand still as she fired her arrow. pulling herself out of her flip she landed squarely on a branch many feet from the ground. she normally didn't try moves like this, but old habits where hard to break.
As she gathered herself and her balance on the shifting branch she looked down at the buck, which lay on the ground and not moving. the arrow protruding from the back of its head. "YES!" she cheered looking down at the beast, her eyes glowing in the moonlight. she stood, keeping herself balanced as she withdrew Banshee. 'The house will eat well tonight! ever sense the Amazons moved, hunting has been a breeze again.' She couldn't help but smile as she carelessly jumped a giant gap to another branch closer to the buck, continuing to gaze at her resent kill.
in her excitement and due to adrenaline, she failed to notice that Fallen was but a few Branches away from her, as the Climbs down to assess her kill.

Upon hearing the commotion that was approaching the drow withdrew further into the branches. Turning his head toward the sounds, his keen eyes saw through the night as if it were the light of day.
His eyes widened slightly when he finally saw what exactly was approaching Or rather 'who' was approaching. She moved fast, just as fast as the buck she was chasing. Watching her, he credited her agility and speed towards her panther side. He had witnessed that speed first hand the last time he'd seen her.
Realizing that she was heading nearly straight for him, Fallen tensed. His first instinct was to run, to teleport away and continue on with his self imposed solitude. But that would defeat the purpose of coming all the way back into town. He hadn't had the courage to seek out his friends. It was just coincidental that one had unwittingly stumbled across him.
Crouched absolutely still on the branch he watched her as she landed not feet away from him before beginning to scale down the tree. She hadn't seen him then? Barely breathing, he still said nothing to alert her of his presence.
What was he going to say?

letting herself land on her feet with a thud, she walked beside the beast and began to remove her arrow. as she move it the buck moved harshly. Ashen let out a sharp gasp as she crouched down. her hand placed firm on her dagger as she stared down the beast. her sturn look turned into confusion as the beast now didn't move. "huh...must be in its nerves then...damn thing...gave me a scare." she scolded the dead animal as she stood again.
"fine keep my damn arrow...how the hell am I going to get you home. guess I can drag you..." she pondered aloud to herself as she placed her thumb on her chin. she closed her eyes and sighed as she felt the cold breeze on her back. the coolness was refreshing. however her eyes opened fast as she smelt a familiar different smell, one she hadn't smelt in a while.
Quickly she looked around, she knew someone was near by now but where? as she looked she readied herself to call out, but stopped. what if it was someone she didn't want to run into? what if it was Zu, or maybe it was someone she wanted to see. maybe it was Kil, or Fallen. Ashen began to feel excited as she felt a smile creep on her face to the thought, she had been looking for him for a long time. she wished to apologize to him for interfering, for messing things up that she seemed to have a talent for. when she wasn't hunting she was looking for him ever sense Ragnorok was a threat a full moon cycle ago. her smile slowly faded as she began to remember the fight they had.
she looked down slightly as Kil's words echoed in her mind 'perhaps, you can find him because he wants to be found by you.' 'and you can't see him...so probably he doesn't want to be found at least, not by me' she scolded as she let out a defeated sigh. "I miss you" she whispered into the still night, as she turn back the beast.

The drow watched the woman go about her business from above before silently dropping down a couple branches for a better view. Had he made any sound it would be masked by the breeze whistling through the thick leaves. He stopped dead again when he saw her still. Had she heard him? He remembered then, her keen sense of smell. Damn, was it game over? He waited for a moment, wondering when she would look up and set eyes on him but it didn't happen. Instead she looked down. He barely picked up the whispered words. Barely. But he did.
'I miss you'
Was that meant for him? He looked up into the leaves again, guilty. Did she know he was there and just didn't was to call him out? Did she still think he was mad at her? He wasn't...He was just......he didn't know. Or was it just all coincidence?
He wanted to alert her to his presence be couldn't seem to find any words at the moment, never mind the right ones. Settling into a comfortable position on the branch, he pulled off his scarf, balled the fabric to it wouldn't flutter away, and dropped it onto the kinto's head.

Ashen looked at the beast with annoyance as she tried to figure out her next move. suddenly every thing went dark and something as on her head blocking all of her vision.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" Ashen screamed as her arms flailed, losing all sense of the once a composed Hunter she was, now reduced to a panicking Feline trapped by a mere piece of fabric. in Ashens panic she fell on her behind franticly ripping of the fabric on her head. glaring at it with murderous intent as her hair remained messy. after a small moment, she looked at the black fabric. her fear washed completely away as she recognized it. She looked up, looking at the trees for a moment. Scanning around as she stood, fixing her hair and holding onto the scarf. Finally her eyes managed to see her friend Fallen.
"Fallen?! Your OK?! I have been worried sick, is this how your always going to greet me? with enough surprise to give me a heart attack?" she smiled up at him implying her last comment was a joke.

The drow couldn't help the slight smile that broke his usual blank expression at the kinto's reaction. So she really hadn't know he was there. Before she managed to right herself, he relaxed back in the tree, his expression returning to it's usual.
At her words, he snorted. "You so doubt me?" Had he been showing any emotion, his face would have fallen. She would still worry and search for him even after he had expressed anger at her? He didn't mention it.
"I wouldn't be good at what I do if I couldn't surprise you."

"i never once doubted you Fallen. i worry about you, never doubted you." She smiled at him. Placing her hand on her hips tilting her head playfully she continued to look up to him "where have you been? i have been looking everywhere for you, i hope you don't mind if i come up. looks like a mighty good branch you have there." she jested. wrapping his scarf around her neck she lept up and grabed onto the branch lifting herself up easily.
She turned and faced him, unwarping the scarf and held it out for him with her right arm. a faint blue crescent moon on her upper arm showed that wasn't there before. it almost mimicked a tattoo, if it weren't for the very faint glow. she tilted her head as she always did letting her features soften. "i believe this is yours, might want to hold onto it tighter or ill us it to track you." she smiled. her icy blue eyes looking at him, waiting for him to grab his belonging.

His expression barely changed as she spoke. "I've been no where and everywhere. I'm good at not being found." He nodded ok at her want to join him. He swung his legs over so they hung off the branch to make room for her.
As she handed him the scarf, his eyes fell on the odd mark causing him to to frown but opted to say nothing. He had just laid his hand on the scarf to take it when his eyes finally met hers. Something was wrong...off about her. Over the years he had learned to trust his gut because when it told him things were off they usually were. Still holding the scarf but not taking it, the drow narrowed his red eyes at her. Was this even Ashen? He recognized those eyes. Those were the eyes that looked out at him that night he had been injured and the assassin he had killed walked in on them. That angel....that creature.
Dropping his gloved hand from the scarf, he swung his legs up from the branch, pushing back into a roll until he was crouched against the trunk of the tree. "Who are you." He didn't reach for his blades yet but he prepared himself to.

"what in the hell fallen! it m-" she cut her words off, she had remembered that Drethiel was inside of her body, besides being cold she had nearly forgotten completely her Eye color had changed. "it is me Fallen i Promise you, a lot has happened sense you left. Dreth is inside of me, he almost died protecting everyone. He kept Everyone alive when Ragnorok attack and even kept me inside." Ashen claimed as she jumped down but didn't move from where her feet landed. giving fallen plenty of space.
Raising her hands to show she was unarmed and not meaning to fight she continued "a few moons ago, Balizar came, a demon. trying to kill everyone in wildgard. i fought tooth and claw to get out of the Scale after i had gotten rations and supplies for everyone to go out and find you. if Dreth didn't keep me inside, Balizar would have killed me. Dreth saved everyone almost at the cost of his life, i suppressed most of my kintu abilities so Dreth's soul can rest with mine and i have been keeping him alive sense." Ashens face was laced with fear. she spoke nothing but the truth despite her now trembling words, however she was already walking on thin ice with Fallen as it was. she feared he wouldn't believe her, that he would run away again and this time never to be seen
Slowly, making all of her moves noticeable and almost painfully slow she removed both of her daggers, her bow even her throwing knives kicking them far away. "you know its me. i don't disarm myself for anyone unless there ones i care for. you know that's all the weapons i have Fallen. please calm down it is me, i haven't seen you in so long, i honestly thought...you where..." her words trailed as she looked away shamfully. after her run in with Kil and he not knowing where fallen was, she truly did fear Fallen was dead. an idea popped into her head, as she sense Dreth was sleeping. she could use one bit of information only a select few knew about.
"i don't want to say it, but i dont know what other way to convince you...please...Kethri, it's me you can ask me anything and ill answer it correctly.... its me, i promise.... you scareing me.. please don't go again..." her words being quite she couldn't shake the fear that Fallen began to struck in her. if he could make his enemies feel this, she was foolish indeed to think Fallen couldn't handle himself.

Sill crouching unmoving in the tree he listened to her rant with an unchanging expression. A lot had happened since he had left it seemed. Balthezar....Ragnorok...he didn't really even understand everything she was talking about but it didn't sound good. Perhaps his absence was fortunate. But still...even if what she was saying was true. That that angel had in fact protected her...that didn't change that fact that it had threatened him. Most didn't get away with doing that.
He red eyes followed her weapons as she set them down, before flicking back to her. She thought he was dead? Again, she thought he couldn't handle himself and despite their fight had nearly gotten herself killed looking for him. He wasn't sure if he was mad at hearing that, rather than just exasperated. She would never understand.
His true name brought him out of his thoughts and cause him to finally let his unchanging expression break. Furrowing his brow he looked away and pushed both hands through his hair causing his hood to drop. He needed a hair cut, considering the white locks that were brushing his shoulders. Letting out a long sigh he looked back down at her, relaxing slightly from his fighting stance. "I thought we discussed the fact that I can handle myself. And yet you almost ran out into something that sounds very bad because you thought that I couldn't handle myself." His stare was disapproving. "That disturbs me more then the fact that you have that creature possessing you."
His own voice sounded odd to him...it suddenly struck him that this was his first conversation with anyone in weeks.

A sudden rush of warmth flooded ashen's cheek when his good dropped. His hair was getting longer, and it suited him. Shaking her head clear of the thoughts she lowered her hands. 'Least he isn't going to run way'
"I don't doubt you for the final time... Lord how do I explain this." She pondered for a moment, she snapped her fingers when she got an idea. "Do you doubt me? You have seen me handle myself in battle yes? Well if someone let's say Zu starts attacking me but you know I can handle myself, are you still going to worry? If so now you know how I feel. Just I act differently then you that's all. When someone you l-..care for is in danger, someone you don't care about your own safety."
She smiled as she explained, hopefully now he would begin to understand that she never doubted him. "As a matter of fact I actually look up to you as an assassin, it takes a lot, I'm actually kind of jealous on how well you actually handle yourself to be honest with you fallen. My anger gets the better of me...a lot."She complemented.
She took a few steps forward, she wanted to tell him all the truths she was hiding from him. However she decided it would be best to ease into it. She had no idea how he would even handle the information. She out stretched her arms slightly, looking at him with a slight hopeful look. "I don't think anyone is around, would a hug be out of the question? I missed you."

The drow frowned down at her from the tree as he actually pondered what she had said. Through most of his life he hadn't really been close enough to anyone to really worry. Well except for Kilindyl when they were children. At that point Lin had barely started his training and was still so young that whenever he stepped out to spare he worried. And he had been right to worry. But he'd never really known anyone to match his skill. Until Lin showed back up. That caused the drow's brow to crease even further into a frown. If Lin were to step out into battle would he worry? He didn't think he would. He knew his own skill and he knew that the half-elf could match it....more than match it, he admitted to himself begrudgingly. If he doubted Lin's skill then he doubted his own. And if there was some opponent that could bring down his brother than he would be of little use anyway.
He then thought of Ashen. Had he even seen her fight? Really fight?? He had seen her hunt and use her skill with a bow. And if she was anywhere as skilled as him then no...he wouldn't worry. He trusted her and her skill and her knowledge of herself. It just seemed that she stopped thinking when it come to other people and that was truly the dangerous thing. "I trust your knowledge of your own skill in combat. But if you lose that when it comes to people you care about how is that going to help them? If there is an opponent that you know will kill you, how can you help them if you're dead?" He couldn't understand. But perhaps that was just because of his lack of personal experience with people.
Shaking his head he sighed. Then she was right, she was truly different than him and he wouldn't understand.. "You shouldn't look up to me." He realized the irony in his words considering she was literally looking up at him in the tree. "I live the life I know. My skill is all I have."
At her sudden request he stared at her dumbfounded, making no move to get out of the tree. "uh.."

Ashen giggled with a snort, ither fallen was uncomfortable or had no idea what a hug was. Either way Ashen found this to be rather adorable. "It's ok if you don't want to, affection isn't your thing. I just really missed you." She looked at him with a kind look.
She thought about his words, when it did come to someone she cared for. All rational thinking tended to stop. She never thought it to be a bad thing fear is what restrained her and she used it to fuel her. "Well after so long I'm still here. I use that fear to drive me instead of letting it rule me, ironic considering the curses upon me." Judging that fallen had relaxed somewhat she went back up to where his branch was again.
Letting herself dangle for a moment to make sure it was alright, then lifting herself up to sit beside him. "I have always had to is fear to fight my best even if I get hurt, it's all I know. I was b-...trained to know fear as a tool. Not something to shun away." She looked at him also questionably. She didn't think now was the time to tell him this. Maybe.
"I spoke with Maria...the one who cursed me three times." Looking out as she trailed on. "I wanted to talk to you about that actually, she summoned me by letter. Turns out she is working for Zu, least that's what she claims. She is aiding me in helping me to kill him but I found out if I do slay him... I become him. Zu knows this and has been attacking relentlessly every sense. He actually almost got me about seven moons ago. Freyan had to heal me when I collapsed on the front door way covered in blood." She looked down at her dangling feet that she gingerly kicked back and forth. She always felt the need to fidget.
"Almost didn't make it... There are so many things that I left unsaid, and we almost never takes again. And that was a battle where I had my wits about me, the only fear I had was when I had to escape. Zu has bee hunting me relentlessly, and there are so many things I need to correct before he finally gets me" Ashen didn't mean to sound defeated, however that's how she felt. No matter how she fought or ran Zu was there to best her at every turn. For a simple soul she collected and refused to give back.
After some silent Ashen began to feel slight uneasiness to the once comforting quite, and she cleared the throat. "I talked to kil the other day, it went well. Least I think it did... managed to apologize for ummm...interrupting....I'm still really sorry about that." Still looking down avoiding fallen's gaze she felt her cheeks warm up again. It wasn't one of her brightest moments. "Do you still Hate me for that?" She asked lolling toward him, keeping her head and ears down avoiding his eyes.

The assassin spoke as he watched her lift herself into the tree. "It's not fear that I'm talking about. It's knowing yourself and your skill and when you can't win." When she brought up Zu he furrowed his brow. Speaking of knowing when you can't win....
He narrowed his eyes further when he heard she'd almost been killed. "This is what I'm talking about. Even if you don't fear him doesn't mean you can win." That man wasn't anything human. "I stabbed him in the chest and he laughed. Run from him. Avoid him. Hide until you know you can kill him." He knew he certainly wouldn't be engaging him any time soon. Not until there was a guarantee that when his blade struck that would be the only time it would have to.
The mention of Kilindyl shook him out of his thoughts. If anyone needed to talk to the half-elf it was him. He probably felt just as guilty as Ashen about the entire thing. Looking away from the kinto he spoke, voice quiet. "No, I don't hate you. I was angry that you interfered despite specifically telling you not to. But it's the past." He fell silent for a moment, looking down at his hands. "What did he say? Is he ok?"
