Ashen frowned her brow slightly, he didn't quite understand that Zu was hunting her, not the other way. she couldn't just keep running, if she did he would take Allynn's Soul. it would be the same if Zu had Kil's soul. she knew Fallen would go after him and she would be in his boat, kind of. with a sigh she looked back down to her feet, her ears perking upward when he confirm he didn't hate her. she smiled slightly in relief. "I couldn't help myself, I didn't intend to interfere only to follow. when I saw this blades at your neck I just...snapped." 'Snapped is putting it lightly, if it wasn't for fallen pulling me off of him, I literally would have bit his head off...' she thought.
"he is worried about you, he seemed in good health. besides hello, the first thing out of his mouth was have to seen him? I told him no and it seemed where would both worried sick about you." she looked at Fallen in the eyes. "you have a good Friend Fallen. even though everything I think he forgives you." after a moment she realised she was interfering again and looked away. sighing she continued as she looked at her feet." I told him the same as I told you and apologized for interfering. I think he forgave me, he is kind of hard to read." she encouraged "likes sneaking up on me like you do, made me jump out of my skin" She couldn't help but giggle slightly. "he made allies with the Rats, Gypsy and Bucket. only rats ill put up with, who apparently found a way into the silver scale. one of the whelp rooms apparently had a thin wall." she trailed as she looked up to the moon sounding slightly annoyed, then looking back to fallen with a smile. "he has a weird sense of humor, never known anyone to call someone with a blade in there hand 'passive aggressive' before. lost my composer completely when he said it. so did Gennet, and the rats." she smiled as she remembered the event.
"he is at the tavern though im sure you know that." she spoke as a strange feeling wasted over her. she felt the need to just leave, to walk or something. the feeling crawled all over her skin making her unconformable, even somewhat painful. choosing to ignore it she looked back at his hair again. "you look good with longer hair, probably going to cut it?" she asked.

The assassin still didn't look up, unable to make eye contact. He listened silently, brows drawn together. "I couldn't fight him after I knew who he was. If he had wanted to kill me I probably would have let him." It was the truth. After everything...after leaving him there....he would have accepted that fate. He owed him. After all, he'd left the half-elf in that town. Burnt it down while he was still inside. His brother and his friend.
He couldn't imagine the life that Lin had lived after that. Obviously he had finished his training...but had he been alone? Was he treated badly? Had he really kept that anger and betrayal with him all of those years? Listening to Ashen speak brought back all of the memories of his past. The Lin he knew...was he the same strong willed little kid with the stupid sense of humor? Had those people changed him into the killer they had wanted him to be?
Realizing that there were tears in his eyes he turned his head away. "I haven't seen him since we were kids. I have no idea who he is." Swallowing hard, he looked out at the tavern, it's lights a warm glow in the distance. "I know...it's why I'm here."
He nodded to her last question, still refusing to look her in the eye.

"Fallen? Are you ok? If your worried about Kil being mad I don't think he will be. He doesn't seem that type of guy. He actually gives me they same feeling you do after I get past the intimating parts." She tryed lookig at him 'is he...crying?! So there is a softy in there...' Sitting upright ashen cleared her throat. 'Should probably change the subject for him' "must be nice to be able to cut your hair, if my hair was ever cut i would actually be disowned by other felines. The size of ones mane is there rank of power for most. Some felines like Allynn follow more of her elven heritage and cuts her hair. I kind of wondered what short hair was like honestly."
She rambled slight hoping Fallen would know she was changing the subject not for her, but for him

The drow wiped his eyes before running his hands back through his hair, pretending that's what he had intended to do all along. "I used to keep it long like most elves do. Lin even used to braid it for me since I was never much good at it."
He sighed, dropping his hands again. "But I cut it after it had been used as a weapon against me. Something to grab." He spoke of the past, barely even thinking about what he was saying. No, his mind was still on the half elf. He wasn't worried that Lin was mad at him still. He was angry at himself. He should have stayed...been there for him...
He had always been the one looking out for the younger boy, which was difficult considering the half-elfs bullheadedness. Had he really turned out as well as Ashen was saying? Maybe it was better that he'd left. Maybe he would have just made life harder for him....

"hmmm I have never had anyone really grab my hair before. im actually really protective of it, i normally never let anyone touch it unless im comfortable with that idea." ashen thought back as she looked up at the moon. "brushing it can be a pain, feathers and all. they arnt decoration...they literally grow with my hair, it rather annoying" she stated as she took a lock of hair into her hand glaring at the perturbing feather. silver pigments glistened in the moonlight as she inspected it. letting the lock fall gently onto her chest, she looked back at fallen. he almost seemed like he was at war with himself, no matter how much she tried to distract him. it didn't seem to be helping any. she sighed looking at him with a saddened expression.
"do you want to talk about Kil? you look like you need to. i have talked about Zu, Allynn, and honestly there are some things i need to correct with you. however you honestly look like your at War with yourself, i promise i wont judge or tell anyone we are Friends after all arnt we? you can 'lean' on me when you need to, you don't have to live alone anymore. what was it you said to me back when the snow was still ehre and you saw my wings, you don't need to hide your real self from me. well the same thing goes to you. if you want me to rely on you, you have to do the same. friendships are give and take Fallen."
Ashen even moved slightly closer to him, normally when someone let out there problems, they literally leaned on her. she knew this time it probably wouldn't happen but her shoulder was there if he needed it.

The drow glanced at the kinto from the corner of his eyes before looking down again. She wanted him to try and explain what he was feeling. That was hard considering he couldn't really explain it all to himself. Not to mention he had a hard time opening up at all. He'd done it in the tavern when they'd first met but he had been speaking with a stranger. Someone he thought he'd never see again.
This was something new....different. Speaking with a friend. "You want to know who I am really?" He finally turned to look at her, his expression pained. "I don't even know who that is. Just like I don't know who Lin is."
He abruptly swung down from the tree, landing lightly despite the heavy leather he was wearing. "I don't know how I'm supposed to talk to him. What to say." He continued on as he began to pace. "I thought I'd seen him die. I killed those people and burnt that town in revenge and anger but doing that I almost killed him myself." The words just started pouring out. "I almost killed him. The only person in the world I cared about. I doesn't even matter if he hates me or if he's forgiven me when I can't forgive myself."
Stopping to take a breath he collapsed against the tree with one arm. Leaning his forehead against the bark, the assassin took a shuddering breath and tried to regain his composure. 'Damn Keth you're really losing it, pull yourself together...'

Ashen watched and listened as he paces and ranted, she was happy he was finally opening up to her. however she wished it was because of something a bit brighter. she knew the feeling of killing someone you cared for, only she actually killed hers.
"it was an honest mistake Fallen, it could have happened to anyone...and if it didn't happen, you would be where you are today. you wouldn't of ever got as fast as you did, or as strong as you are now, you may never have even met me." she stated as she dropped back down to the ground. she walked over to him, making sure her foot steps where heard. when she was beside him she placed her hand gently on his cheek. "if you never showed up in Winter, i would be dead now. things happen for a reason, Kil doesn't hate you i promise you this. i know hate, i know it very well... and Kil doesn't have any so neither should you." Her words where soft as she looked into his eyes. after a moment of silence, Ashen could sense he may had been foreign for affection or even comfort but he needed it. She threw caution to the wind and embraced him gently. tucking her chin around his shoulder, pulling him in close. his hair tickling her cheek when the wind picked up.
Holding onto him gently she continued. "everyone makes Mistakes Fallen, no one is perfect. No one ever will be, i know you may think im insane saying this but your one of the nicest people i know. your worth forgiving, your worth protecting, your worth loving. Kil sees this and so do i, please stop blameing yourself. it could have turned out a lot worse and it didn't, take your blessing while you can. he could be dead, but he isn't. he is here now, he is alive and well and willing to give more chances. don't hate yourself and be thankful he is still alive so you can keep the 'Brother' you once thought was lost to you." Ashen's grip didn't tighten or loosen. she waited for Fallen to decide if he would accept her comforting, or her words.

Still leaning on the tree, the assassin managed to keep his wavering composure despite her words. It was only when she touched him did he break down. He didn't care that she was invading his space, he didn't care that he was out in the open with his face uncovered. She was warm and comforting and he had been so cold and alone for so long.
Squeezing his eyes shut he dropped to his knees, bringing her with him as tears began to stream down his face. He didn't try to hide it this time, only leaned on the tree and allowed the sobs to wrack his body. All of the pain and fear and hate he'd been carrying for so long poured out. Since before he could remember he had to be the strong one. First for Lin who he'd failed and then to avoid being killed. But here and now, he wasn't Fallen, cold and hard and emotionless. He was a Kethri, alone and afraid and so small.
She was actually making him believe he was worth something. No one had ever made him feel that way other than Lin. And that hadn't been for decades. He didn't have to be alone anymore.

as Fallen brought her down she let out a slight gasp, however she didn't fight it. brushing the hair from his face she gave a comforting smile, tucking him into her embrace again. "shhh its ok Fallen, i got you. its ok, everything will work out, im here. ill be here whenever you need me, i promise. let it out, hold onto me if you have to. even yell at me if you have to." she coed as she comforted him. she rubbed him back and even began humming a tune Synaria taught her. it was an elfish song, one of a caring ruler who would sing to bring her people the light of day. its meledy was one of a lullaby that elvin parents sang to there children. a comforting melody.
As fallen continued to sob she could whisper sweet things into his ear. notions of things being ok, and to trust her. promises of keeping him safe and happy if he wanted and apologies for making him sad. seeing a strong man like him break moved her in a way she also felt her eyes warm. Ashen locked away her thoughts and only focus on taking care of Fallen. only breaking her comfort when the cool breeze made her shiver slightly. 'his face must be cold...' she thought. after he calmed some what moving slightly but still keeping him close, she wiped away his tears even if they protested. she held him close again, her chin resting gently on the top of his head. "feel a bit better?" she spoke softly as if raising her voice from anything higher then a whisper would set him off again.

As the sobs slowly stopped, the drow just sat there taking deep breaths and trying to finally calm himself. After a couple of minutes he pulled away slowly, shuffling around until he was sitting with his back against the tree. "I'm sorry you had to see that." His voice was quiet, embarrassed that he broke down like he had. It was so out of character for him.
Pulling off his gloves he wiped his eyes, not daring to look up at her. "That's never happened to me before." He supposed it had been building for years, just like Lin's angry outburst during their fight had.

Ashen only smiled at him after he gathered himself. "It's ok, it was Long over due. It's alright don't worry. You can release your built up emotions on me if you need to any time. We can be strong for each other if you like" Ashen smiled as she moved more hairs from his face.
After she removed her flask of water from her belt, and handed it to fallen. She was always thirsty after she cried maybe he was the same. She moved beside him, resting her back on the same tree. "Strong men cry you know. I'll always be here if you need to just talk, even if it's something silly. Ok? It's better to just get it out then letting it build. You don't have to hide your feelings anymore. I'll keep them secret, and I'll keep them safe." She smiled at him as he finished cleaning himself up.
She looked up at the moon threw a slight clearing in the leaves, pondering to herself on a bold move. "I'm not going to rush you and I'm not going to run away, I'm offering this to help. Do you want me to go get him? And bring him here?" She looked at him curiously. She had no idea if he wanted her to stay or not.

Fallen accepting the water with a nod, drinking until his throat was no longer raw. "At least it was you who witnessed that and not Lin. I used to be me holding him, not the other way around." The drow remembered back to when he had first met the half elf. "He was so young when they brought him in. For weeks he cried every night and for weeks I had to hold him, fearing that our masters would hear him and be angry." He capped the flask and handed it back.
Pulling on his gloves, he shook his head at her question. "No. I don't know how I'm going to face him. I need more time..." He trailed off. He had spent weeks alone in the woods thinking just that. More time....He had had all the time in the world. At this point he figured nothing would help him with this dilemma, certainly not more time.

"that's horrible, punishing a child for crying. the very thought makes my blood hot." Ashen glared at the ground angry remembering all the times she had to deal with that same nonsense as she took back her flask. "at least Kil or Killin or ...whatever, had you. its hell going though that when your alone. the constant fear, no being able to just release all the pent up energy that is toxic, its literally hell especially when your small and defenceless." as she spoke, she didn't hide the fact she sounded experienced in that she said. she wasn't hiding anything anymore. so long as Fallen didn't abandon her, she didn't care if he knew about her past. they both had scars and she knew this.
she nodded as he rejected her offer kindly. "was just a thought, my only somewhat usful talent is getting wrapped up in matters i shouldn't, let i can do is try to fix them." she smiled looking at him. "could you tell me more? i would much like to know this Fallen, the one i just saw, the one i met in the cold plains. i have missed him for some time." she looked at him, offering her hand to hold onto if he wanted.

"They thought of us as weapons. It's why we were there to begin with." The drow grit his teeth at the memory. "I was there because I'm drow. It's no secret that my race produces some of the most notorious assassins to exist. I was never sure why they brought in Lin. I always assumed it was in case something happened to me. As fail safe even though I heard them constantly complaining that a half-elf would never be able to accomplish the things I could. Obviously they were wrong. Or maybe it was just because they got him cheap..."
The gave Ashen a sidelong glance. "You sound like you know a lot more about how it feels than I thought you would." He tried to ignore you hand, not wanted to offend her but not comfortable taking it.

"i have only catch wind of what drow are like, never knew if they where like that in person. though those rumors are wrong if compared to you though. aside from the assassin part." she smiled as she placed her hand back on her lap. "a fail safe, that's still Kil he isn't an object, stupid masters." she muttered. all this talk about children being used as weapon made memories rush threw her mind, and she hated it."
Ashen ears dropped to Fallens last statement 'so he did catch on...huh...' "ill only tell you what i know, if you promise no to be made about the white lies told you in the tavern that one night. im sure you understand the feeling of saying things, thinking you'll never met again. im sure that day you only told me half truths on somethings, considering what im hearing now. and only if your don't releasing all you need to, this isn't about me after all, regardless if you want to change the attention, but only if your alright now. i would like to hear your side then tell mine."
