Once the door shut quietly, the mask slipped off of the drows face quickly. His white brows drew close together in an exaggerated frown as he stared at the ceiling and it's little hanging bobbles. He knew already that he would not get any rest this night, not with his mind racing as quickly as it was. Not to mention the splitting pain in his side which shot through his back to meet his shoulder. It was not so bad when he had the distraction of other people. But here in the dark, with only the company of his own thoughts, pain wracked his body.
Clenching both hands into fists under the furs, he squeezed his eyes shut. He did not fear pain for it could not kill him. But that didn't mean it was uncomfortable and enough to keep sleep at bay when coupled with an unsound mind.
Letting out a long and haggered breath, the drow shut his eyes. The bed was at least comfortable...but the situation he was in was not. The thought of having to bend to anyones will caused his chest to constrict in fear and anger. Perhaps it was the remaining scar left on him from his time as a slave, perhaps it was the untrusting nature of a drow elf. But either way, because of this, fallen had made a point throughout his entire life to be ontop of every situation. Every meeting and encounter with another living person was on his terms. Nothing happened without his want for it to happen. No one saw him unless he desired them too. And if he sensed that anything would go wrong he would easily disappear into the night.
But because of this paranoid and lone existence, Fallen could not differentiate being forced into a situation, or bending ones own actions to appease a friend. He had only ever encountered the first situation and therefore did not realize that what had happened tonight...or what should have happened tonight...was the latter.
It suddenly occurred to him that that was not true. Long, long ago....he had been a more selfless person, just a child then.
Clearing his mind before it dredged up memories of his distant past, Fallen opened his eyes to the dark of the room once more with a pained frown. It was going to be a long night.

When Drethiel opened his eyes, he was confused about his whereabouts at first. How much time had passed since he had went to bed? He groaned and rolled over, feeling his ice dome shatter overhead as he crashed into it. As the ice fragments broke like glass and fell on top of him, he realized that he didn't really care how long he had passed out for. It's not like he had a job to do here, he was merely sleeping on a frozen pond in a basement. He closed his eyes and listened carefully, trying to pick out any sounds from upstairs - but all was silent.
Dreth brushed himself off and stepped out of the water room, then proceeded to climb the stairs into the seemingly empty first floor. Looking around, he sighed and found himself a place at the middle table. Was he hungry? Not really. However he was still a bit groggy from sleep, so he propped his head up and rested his eyes, listening for movement that would prove he wasn't completely alone.

Trudging though the snow on all four paws, shifting the snow off her body with her massive wings. dragging a decent doe by its neck, her massive fangs kept its grip as she continued onto the property of the Silver scale. after she reached the back down she quietly set the doe down removeing her fangs from the creatcures neck. shakeing the cold and snow off her once again this time with her whole Panther body. something caught her eye as she went to look back at the doe. a small pill within her garden area. curiously she sneaked up by it keeping herself low to the ground. carefully she slowly reached over with her paw lightly tapping the hill and jumping back slightly as it shifted. as it shifted layers of snow fell to the ground to reveal items, surrounded in ice.
'this must be Fallen's belongings, I forgot to bring them in. I hope there isn't anything damaged.' she thought to herself.in her beast forum, she lost her ability to speak. she couldn't call Dreth to come take the ice ball. it was far to big for to roll inside. she would have to be carful and roll it into the barn. slowly she nudged it with her nose and front paws toward the barn entrance. Once she rolled it to the entrance she had to open the doors. this was difficult for a 9 foot tall winged Panther. after many attempts she manage to get a claw under on door and pull it open enough to push it open the rest of the way. in frustration she used her back paws to kick the door open. Crash. Ashen straighten as she heard the door Crash onto something. 'oops....im stronger then I thought...please gods let nothing be broken'
Ashen peeked out of the door and saw the Ice ball broken in half. Ashen groaned as she went to check the frozen belongings. she didn't see anything broken, as she kept to her inspection something caught her eye. a charm, an owl charm...'why does that look familiar...' ashen pondered Ashens eyes widened as she Finally remembered who it was it belonged to, or rather used to belong to. 'this is Vija's! why in the nine hells does Fallen have it?' Ashen felt a stone in her throat, She knew Fallen was an Assassin but did he? She shook her head, it was none of her concern. it was his Profession after all, but still the thought made her feel very sick. she nudged the frozen halves into the far side of the barn away from the door. it was warm inside because of the animals, but it would take a lot of time to thaw.
Ashen walked back to the Back door as she concentrated back on her human form. she opened her eyes and her hands where imbedded in the snow. straightening up she wiped the snow off her hand, she then entered thought the back door. it swag suddenly as the wind caught it. quickly coming inside as the winds whipped around dragging in snow. Closing it behind her she shook off the snow. "Good lord it's cold, if we didn't need food I wouldn't have gone hunting" see said annoyed but weakly. Least she managed to catch a deer. She hanged her head low, resting it on the front door ahead of her. Gods she was tired, she couldn't sleep. She was to nerve racked on everything that happened, casing her to feel ill.
It's was probably just nerves...right? She didn't have time to be sick so it couldn't be that. She turned around to see dreth sitting at the table "oh! Hi Dreth, how long have you been up?" She asked removing her cloak and tracking gear. As she spook she sound groggy herself. Least to her ears, then again things have been weird lately. "Help yourself to something to eat or drink. I have to check on our dark friend."She grabbing a bigger tunic and slipping it on over her cloths to hopefully gain some warmth, slipping it on as she went upstairs.
Her skin was pale, the dark circles under her eyes worsened over night. Even her cheek weren't as full as yesterday from lack of food, which she was happy that it was about to change. Dare she say, but she seems to look almost sickly. However she didn't have time to be ill. She had no time for sickness as her mind buzzed with questions she knew she wouldn't be able to ask Fallen. Least that's what she told herself.
As she finally reached the top of the stairs her movements slowed as she got closer and closer to her bedroom door. Holding her hands close to her chest as she hesitated the thought of opening the door. Silencing her thoughts she instead she simply placed her hand on the warm door gently, barely making a sound. Clearing her throat she still remained quite just incase. resting her hand on the handle.
"Fallen...are you awake? May I come in?"

At the quiet words, the drow's eyes slid open. The hours had passed slowly this night, the pain barely dissipating and his thoughts refusing to clear. Just in the recent hour had he actually grown exhausted enough to try and sleep despite the pain and his uneasiness....he hadn't succeeded. But he couldn't decide whether that was because he was so far out of his comfort zone or because of his injuries. "Come in." He finally spoke, pushing himself into more of a sitting position.
The assassin's face was drawn and tired, his white hair clinging to his sweat damp skin as he watched for her to enter.

Ashen's eyes widened slightly, not expecting Fallen to answer. quickly dismissing it she opened the door, quickly stepping it inside and closing the door quietly behind her. as if the slightest sound would make the world shatter. letting out a slightly shuttered sigh she turned and faced fallen. she painted smile never leaving. trying her best not to look like she just talked to a very intimating assassin that WASNT fallen, and her best not to look like she hadnt slept at all that night and decided it would be best if she stayed in the cold. hell she could still feel winters embraces emanating from her.
taking slow steps, she felt fear struck her but managed to keep her painted smile. 'was Fallen really like that other assassin?' she thought nervously. they had only met a few times, and she hated to admit Fallen had struck her fancy but now thinking about it...she was acting like a kitten all over again. she knew she needed to give anything time, but if that other Assassin was here how much time would she truly have? that thought made her hands begin to shake ever so slightly and her Curse begin to burn. 'stop it, he is going to notice your questioning mind if you keep this up' she scolded.
Ashen noticed how his hair still cling to his skin. she changed her direction to a bowl and water filled vase at her writing desk. she poured a generous amount of water into the bowl, then dropping a cloth that was near by into it. trying to still her shaky hands she picked up the bowl easily and walked over to fallen. once she was at the beds side, she knelt down slowly making sure the water not to spill. the water felt so warm compare to the chill of her still frozen fingers as she rang the cloth free of extra water. She looked up at Fallen, reaching up with the cloth to remove the sweat for him, but hesitated. she had no idea if she was even allowed to do so.
keeping it there slight as if silently asking, she tilted her head slightly still with her painted smile. "how are you feeling Fallen?" she spoke softly, trying to keep the tension at a minimum

The drow regarded her with a furrowed brow when she opened the door. His senses may be dulled from pain and exhaustion but he could tell that something was off with her. She was acting differently towards him than she had been the night previous.
"I'm well enough." He answered her question, fatigue sounding clearly in his voice. "Are you? Something's wrong. I've spent enough time feigning emotion, I can tell when someone else is doing it."
He pushed himself into a sitting position, grimacing slightly as he did so, until his bare back was against the wall. "What's going on?" Despite his unease and nerves with the situation his concern was honest. This was one of the only people who seemed to care about him and he would do the same for her.

"please be carful we don't want your wounds opening again!" she said retracting her hand she placed the cloth back into the bowl, knowing she wasn't the best at hiding her emotions anymore. she knew he wouldn't react well if she didn't tell him. hell he wouldn't react well if she did. with a sigh she clapped her hands free of water, standing up only to move to the end of the bed. taking a seat she made herself comfortable. she let her head hang slightly.
"im very tired, I haven't slept. I went out last night to find food and herbs, which I found...but I went to the tavern to warm up from the cold when the moon was high...I met someone there." her voice went quite, "that someone had almost matching armor as yours..." she said as she clenched her hands together. "i have a question that may take my fear away but i need you to be honest with me...and i don't want to have to us my magic." she took a deep breath "will you run away if there some here who knows your name?" Ashen was Shaking at this point. she tried to remember just how she got into this sisuation with Fallen to begin with. how many moons ago it started, however many there where she knew that she couldn't really see a future without him. if he ran, she would to. not like she hadn't been on the run before.
she remembered the scrolls that Synaria showed her recently before this whole thing happened with Fallens Injuries. elfish or some other language. she thought about how similar it sounded to the Drow words Fallen spoke once and a while, and how familiar they where when HE used them. it was worth a shot. keeping her voice low and her eye to the ground practically studying the grain of the wood. "Zhah dos kaas kethri?"

Listening carefully, the assassin's eyes widened with each word, horror slowly washing over his face. Impossible. It was impossible that someone had already caught up to him. Mind reeling in panic, the drow only stared at the kinto with the same uncharacteristic expression. Someone else was here to kill him. Someone who new his name. Someone who had told Ashen his name.
Slowly his expression hardened, brow furrowing and eyes narrowing. "You have healing magic. You're a scout. Use it."
He was so tired. Tired of running. They had already chased him to the end of the earth. If he left where would he go? Farther north? Bah. Here he had finally found a friend. Every ounce of unease at the situation he was currently in left as his new resolve strengthened. He had one singular goal now.
"Nindol unl'r ghil." This ends here.

Ashen turned to look at Fallen, Fear displayed on her face. "Fallen please! i know i don't quite understand what's really going on, but he told me he wouldn't do anything unless you started it. he said his name was Kil, please Fallen your scaring me as much as he did."
It was true she was beginning to fear Fallen. she had seen that same hate filled drive long ago. only she endured 11 years of it, until she ended it. it was her mothers undoing, and now it would be Fallens.
"he got angry with me, told me i was meddling and cursing me in drow, but he promised he wouldn't do anything to you if your injuries. please calm down and think." Ashen's shaky hands returned, in fact she could feel a slight tremble beginning to build in her body. she shifted away from fallen slightly now only sitting half on the bed. she knew he would react badly but not this badly. what had him so riled up? was it fear also? he had nothing to fear while he was here. if the damned half elf came here to kill him she could skin him alive.
"if your worried he will attack you here we would have a better chance of making it snow in the fires of hell...i would kill him before he could think of it..." Ashen tried to best to still her voice as she spoke.

"If you think he was telling the truth you are a fool. And if you believe you'll be able to kill him you're even more of one." His red eyes sparking with anger bore into the kinto. "This is and has been my battle for years since before I've known you and I assure you I can handle it." Despite the fire in his eyes his words were cold and angry.
He wasn't mad at her per say, but at this damned situation. At the people in that town, at the men they kept sending after him, at the man who actually dared confront his friend about this. "Why do you refuse to heal me? You doubt me so much that you believe I will lose? You think that I'm rushing rashly into an unnecessary battle?" He actually scoffed, ignoring the pain that flared in his side. "Do you want to know how many assassin's sent by that town that I've killed? Twenty one. Twenty one men who were hell bent on killing me. And each one was stronger than the last. These men are dangerous. To me, to you, to this town. He won't stop."
His normally quiet and stoic demeanor was crushed by the flaring anger at his helplessness. He knew his words would hurt the woman who he'd come to care for but he couldn't bring himself to stop. "I'm not afraid that he will attack me here uninjured. I'm done running. I'm done hiding. I want to finally end this here where I've found somewhere I'd actually want to live my life."
Finally he stopped with a huff, hands clenched on his lap. His mind was racing with words he'd both said and unsaid. The name Ashen had brought up suddenly popped into his mind. Kil....Kil.....It must either be a coincidence or some sick jab at him to get him out of hiding.

Fallens words stung like daggers in Ashens chest, the hatrd in his eyes reminded her of someone she wanted nothing more then to forget. however she understood. everyone has there battles... if anyone knew that it was her. But what did he mean by where he wanted to live his life?
"i don't doubt your abilities Fallen. i fear the Half-elf's rage. i know you have your Battles with this, but please know your alone anymore." Ashen's gaze never left Fallen's as she spoke. she wanted to make sure he would remember the words she was about to say. "If at any time i see you stumble, if you fall, if you bleed i will be there to stop what's hurting you and if that 'thing' keeps trying to hurt you, i will make sure it will never see the light of day again." she tried hard not to get worked up, but the pain in her chest made it almost hard to breath at this point. " i Know you still getting used to having an Ally, but you have to understand that your not alone anymore. if you randomly stop showing up here, or i don't see you anymore. ill sniff out that half elf, rip out his eyes and shove them in his gut so he can watch me rip his intestines out." Ashen tried very hard not the get upset but couldn't near the end, the thought of someone trying to hurt her Allies made her rage spike. her right shoulder began to hurt slightly. bringing her back to reality as she looked away from fallen.
even though she tried to make her words strong, tears threatened to free themselves from her eyes. she knew he would dart away the second she healed him. suddenly she stood up headed to the door. "ill be right back don't move." her words where stern. without even waiting for him to respond, she opened the door and closed it behind her rather loudly. she walked down the stairs and out the back door. she walked past the back yard and straight to Matsu's Blacksmith hut, where she spend a small portion of the night repairing Fallen's armor which she was actually rather proud of her work. once she retrieved it, she walked back to the Main house.
stepping inside, she noted Dreth was still slipping in and out of sleep at the table, closeing the door behind her she grabbed the bowl of dried meat and bannock near Dreth, not making a sound as she moved. not even her feet made noise on the creaky floor boards. she thanks her mothers training for that. it alwasy seemed when ashen was upset , her old training kicked in. she went back upstairs and went straight to her room again. without even asking to enter she managed to open the door. sighing as she entered the room she set Fallens armor beside him and the bowl of food on the other. after she set the bowls down she turned and closed the door, turning to the chest across the bed. she opened it and retrieved some drinking water in her travel bag and set it beside the bowl of food. then she sat on the bed again tears still threatening to fall.
"eat then ill heal you." she sounded annoyed, angry, defeated and about to cry all in one, because she was. she truly Feared what the Half-elf could do, she also knew if she was to stubborn this time, he would simply leave even with his injuries. she would remain true even though she wanted him to stay, he would only have to eat and she would heal him. "i promise if you eat i will heal you, i just want to take care of you, i know your fully capable of doing so on your own but that's what friends do." she ended her statement with a quite sigh.

Finally able to shut himself up, the drop listened to her speak. She fears his rage? No, It was his that should be feared. He was the one who hadn't been able to live a life out of fear every day. And finally all of that fear was being turned around and into anger. He would use it as his weapon.
He looked down when she spoke of her allegiance to him. Indeed it was nice to fall on when he was injured. But when it came to his battles he was alone and would have it no other way. Not until his business with that town was over. Not until every last assassin they sent after him was dead. He wouldn't let anyone interfere. He wouldn't let anyone he cared for get hurt by them, not again.
He looked up startled when she stormed out, his thoughts still racing.
Wait.
"Half-elf...?" No. "Kil...." He frowned, eyes staring down at his hands. No...He couldn't believe that. He wouldn't believe that. He watched Kilindyl die. His friend was dead. Until Ashen had mentioned the assassins race he didn't even consider....
No.
When the kinto entered the room once more, he raised his eyes forcing his emotions down and away so he could think rationally. "Thank you..." He met her gaze for just a moment, looking away in shame. As unversed in other people as he was it was clear that she was hurt.
Picking up the bowl he ate quietly but quickly, not realizing how hungry he was. His injuries really had sapped most of his energy. Setting it down again empty he spoke. "I'm sorry. This is a battle I have to fight and one I have to fight alone." he finally looked up to meet her gaze. "Thank you for helping me here. But please, please don't interfere if the two of us clash blades." He was a killer. And if this other assassin was anything like him then any interference would probably mean death for him or the person interfering. There was no half-way when he fought.

"I can't promise anything if I am near by, if I see someone I care about struggling...I will help. It is how I am, just like you are how you are. Do you really wish me to change?" She looked straight into his eyes. It was a true question. trying hard not to look hurt, and trying hard to hide emotions. Like her mother taught her so long ago.
Noticing how quickly fallen ate she didn't realize how hungry he really was. She looked down to the floor again, knowing that she now had to fulfill her end of he bargain."Please feel free to take more food if you must, I recently caught a stag. I should be fine for a while. Your stuff is also thawing in the barn, Dreth failed to tell me last night, he put all of your things in an ice ball. He is currently still passed out." Her gaze never left the floor, she knew she couldn't delay the healing any longer, and Ashen Always keep her promise.
She turned and moved herself near him, she looked down at the bed in hesitation, not wanting to keep her word. She was so frustrated with this, it was sickening. However she ment it, if she saw fallen struggling in Anything, it would take a great force from hell just to stale her.
Finally she placed her cold hands on fallen's chest and began casting her heal. As she chanted the she tryed her best to steel her words so that way the incantation was complete. However the tears that threatens to fall once before managed to escape. As her chant finished she turn around so she wouldn't be facing fallen. She hated haveing people see her cry, she normally got extra lashings for it. Ashen became angry with herself, this was the second time she had shed tears around fallen.
Why was it when HE was around she folded like a house of cards? Silently she cursed herself waiting for Fallen to flee far away from her. Like he had wanted to all night she was sure.

The drow's brow twitched at the mention of that other creature in the house. Not only had it seen him unclothed but it had messed with his things. He supposed there was nothing he could do about it, but it still irked him.
The look on her face didn't escape his keen gaze as she placed her hands on his chest. Urg, this entire thing had become really messy. He didn't want to hurt her, but he didn't know how not to. Nervously her placed a hand over hers on his chest, holding it there even as she turned away. "You know I'm not good with words. Or people. But let me try and say this in a way you'll understand." His face softened, his white brows drawing together. "I don't want you to change. I'm not asking you to. I'm asking you to put yourself in a difficult position so you don't put me in an impossible one."
As he spoke he could feel the healing magic taking effect, itching as his skin knit itself back together. Ignoring it he continued. "I have never fought with an ally before. I don't think, I act. And when I fight it's to kill. I don't want to risk hurting you. And I don't want to risk him hurting you. Please..." His voice trailed into a whisper. "I couldn't bare to see another person I care about hurt. Not again."
He finally let his hand drop. "Promise me. Promise me you'll let me handle him." He frowned, studying the kinto who was now completely turned away from him. He could understand her worry but not why she was so upset.
He didn't make a move to get up, not even when the pain melted away entirely. If he didn't have anyone to come back to then what was the point going to fight for a home? He needed to clear the air here even though he didn't really know how.

Fighting through the tears ashen wiped them away hastily "for someone who says he isn't good with people or with words, that was clear and sweet"
The words he spoke have given her strange sense of clarity but in no way did it make her chest feel any better. Ashen turned to look at fallen. "I should probably explain why I am so upset huh?" Forcing a smile still fighting the falling tears trying not to make eye contact with Fallen.
Sighing she readied herself, "ok...remember when you found me in the plains when we first met? As pathetic as it is, I was on my last stand then, I was looking for trouble, to die in battle because I was alone. I was going to attack you first, and have you kill me, but when I locked eyes with you, I couldn't bring myself to do any harm to you." Still avoiding his gaze she continued to explain her side.
"I try hard to paint on my smiles for everyone, but everyone I ever cared for has disappeared. I'm scared it will happen to you, I trust in your abilities I'm just so scared your going to die. I ended up care if for you a little more then I should..." Her words trailed off as she looked away cheeks turning red slightly.
"I wasn't completely truthful about my past but let's just say both of our story's deal with a lot of pain, where all we want is to be free. Fallen I hope you know if you disappear I have nothing, my sister is dead, my friends all left me, I have no other trust worthy allies." She looked at fallen slightly, more like looking at his knee.
"As pathetic as it sounds and as pathetic as I am... Your all I have left, in the few times we have talked and you allowed me to care for you, I grew to love you... I know it's not your thing, but I can't help how I feel" she looked away again, if that wasn't going to make fallen run away she didn't know what would. She knew damn well he would get throw him off but it wasn't a lie, he was as precious to her as Allynn was...and she was gone.
Not caring about the tears anymore she kept her gaze away from him. "I would understand if you think I'm pathetic and I would understand if you hate me."
