Darkness had fallen some time ago, but it was only starting to feel like nighttime in Wildgard. Occasional uproars of noise sailed out from the tavern, as per usual, and few lights were on in buildings elsewhere. Most people were either getting a drink or falling asleep; all in all, it was quiet outside.
Save for a single cloaked figure coming from the direction of the Plains.
Idina glanced over her shoulder frequently, as though nervous someone was watching or following her. Her dagger bounced on her hip with every other step, the mark of a promise she was keeping that she wasn't sure was made in the first place. The moon shone down on her, its waxing form having given her a clearer mind for a few days. Even so, she felt tense, and she kept her hood over her eyes.
Of course, there was no one at the table of the shop. She slipped between it and the caravan, careful not to make any unnecessary noise. "Drogo?" she tested. "Aria?" With two small steps closer to the wagon, she whisper-shouted: "Is anyone awake?"

Aria awoke to a rustling outside, Drogo however remained asleep with a leg draped over her own and an arm around her waist. As she sat up in bed to get a better listen for what could be outside, he tightened his grip and mumbled incoherently. She shushed him even though he was probably still asleep. The rustling continued and she prepared to take out either a drunkard or a raccoon when she heard a familiar voice drift in through the window.
"Is anyone awake?"
It was the voice of Idina. She gently shoved her husband off and took the blanket with her, the mumbling continued, more irritated now as she walked out the door.
It was chilly outside, just a slight nip on the nose, but enough to send a shiver down her spine. She pulled the blanket around herself as she walked barefoot through the grass. What on earth was that girl doing out so late? And in this chill? She shook her head.
"Idina? I'm awake now." She called off into the night, quiet enough not to wake anyone else.

A few quiet noises came from the caravan, which could either mean the merchants were awake or fast asleep. Nervously, she drew in on herself, hugging her arms in an act against the night chill. The healer's face lit up when she saw the other lady step outside - more relief than joy, but it was still positive. "Thank goodness," she sighed to herself before approaching Aria a little.
"I hope I was not being too loud," she commented. Her usual peppiness wasn't in her voice, mostly masked by fatigue... and something else. "I... I wanted to ask a favour of you. Might I have a place to stay with you tonight?"

She raised an eyebrow. Something was wrong she could feel it. There was not as much energy or light. Like a fire had burned down or went out. She was immediately concerned. "Why yes of course you can stay here! For as long as, well until we leave for winter." She draped the blanket over Idina, and beckoned for her to come inside.
"Oh where's Lila? Will she need to stay too?" She inquired "It's not a problem for the two of you to be here, we have a fair enough space, always willing to share."

Despite her cloak keeping her warm, she eagerly welcomed the extra layer of a blanket, balling the fabric up in her fists and crossing them over her chest. It was in this manner that she followed her friend into her caravan. The darkness didn't allow much to be seen, but she could see that Drogo was sound asleep, and it didn't look like anything would wake him up soon.
Aria's question made Idina freeze, and when her heart started beating again, she found a place where she could sit and took it as though she feared she would collapse. "N... no," she managed. "No, Lila has her own lodgement for the night." She assumed so, anyway. "She is safe," she added, mostly to herself. "It will just be me here for now."

She walked over to the small stove and lit it, intending to make a pot of tea for taste and comfort. She began to fill a pot with water however she stopped when she had processed the blonde's words. She remembered how the two had been arguing earlier, It appears to have been more serious than she had originally thought.
"Just you...?" She turned her head slightly. 'Did it really fall apart so quickly?' she thought to herself. 'Couples fight but what could tear them apart so easily'
The orange glow of the fire bathed the room in a visual warmth. Fighting off the cold night chill.
"What exactly happened. I only heard arguing not what it was about."

The stove cast an orange light around the caravan, helping to comfort and calm the small woman. Under the blanket, she drew her limbs close to her body to warm herself up even faster, relishing in the heat after having been out in the mid-autumn night air.
Her head turned quickly with Aria's question. So she'd heard the arguments they'd been having lately...
"What happened?" she repeated. "To tell you the truth, I... I am not sure..." She chewed her lip nervously, trying to piece together the recent events in her mind. "All I know is that I... Lila just wanted to protect me, and I... I would not let her, I kept running off... But I wanted to stop running..." Her voice trailed off on these words, the graveness in them hanging in the air as she stared at a fixed spot in front of her, at nothing at all.

Aria had become very concerned very quickly and it showed through her furrowed brow.
"Lila only cares about you dear. She wants you to be safe, as do I. And you are safe here do not forget that." She said, her voice high and soft, she was trying to be gentle with her. She did not want to make her any more upset, but she did want answers.
"So why is it you run from her? What are you running to?" She inquired before adding, "Or from."

"I was not trying to run from her," she insisted, although her voice lacked confidence. "I... She told me I trust too quickly, and maybe she is right..." One of the dancing shadows in the wall brought to memory the image of green tattoos on a face; the freckled healer squeezed her eyes shut, lips parting in a grimace that lasted only a moment. She had to keep a level head for now. "I never said I trusted the Minister. I never even said I liked him! I only spoke with him when I did to... to know about the rings..."
She realized she'd derailed from the actual topic of trust. "I had reasons for trusting the Clanless, it was not just some whimsical feeling. Lila belittled me for trusting him, just because of some of my own clumsy mistakes this summer." She fixed Aria with an intent gaze, not quite angry, but wanting to see how she responded.

Internally aria was struggling. She was upset with Idina for being such a fool. She had talked to the minister far more times than just for rings, not to mention decorated his garden, spent time alone for him, went for walks in the woods with him. She was angry about that. But at the same time she knew this wasn't the setting for anger.
She remained composed.
"The Clanless? Does he have to do with the one in the bird mask?" She paused. "Wait no, he announced his name was Faljere. But still, Lila bought up the Clanless in the same discussion."
She rested her hand on her chin. This was all proving to be difficult and she had already lost enough sleep with the child, let alone being awoken in the middle of the night. Of course that didn't bother her too much, but it did cover her mind in a thick fog.
"Are they related at all?" She asked. "Because if they are you are speaking about the raven that tried to kill at least one of us. Or his kinsman."
'you do seem to trust a little too easily love...' She muttered softly, almost inaudibly.

She had rehearsed the answer to this exact question in her head several times, helped by the fact that she'd had to answer it several times since the unmasking of The Raven. *I should have been there to hear him afterwards...*. "They are both wood elves," she said simply. "Likely of the same clan, given their tattoos. Sarea explained that concept to me. Besides," she went on, "do you remember the librarian from Fort MacNeil? The pacifist monk who left soon after I did? That was Faljere." She gave her words a few moments' thought. "...Was..." she choked out. Hopefully Aria would think only of the transformation between the librarian and the madman under the mask; even if she tried reading between the lines, Idina had sworn to keep the secret safe. None would know of the Clanless as a bastardization of Faljere if she could do anything about it.

Although she did not remember much of the librarian, and as much as she wanted to know more, the poor girl seemed deeply affected by speaking about them. So she decided to move back to the previous topic.
"Ok nevermind that. I am to tired to decipher that. Lets go back to Lila." She sighed. "I am sorry that things have come between you." She noticed the water boiling and stood up, shuffling over to pour it into cups.
"Couples do get into fights. As hard as it is when they happen, they do happen."
She added in a blend from her homeland, a sweet herbal tea. She found it useful to relax on cold days.
"Is the engagement still on?" She asked while setting down a cup of warm tea in front of the blanket wrapped guest. She then proceeded to sit back down in her spot.

Tea was always, always a good thing. Even just taking the warm cup in her hands supplied her with a sort of calming energy. With that on top of the Blessing Nabbi had given her, Idina felt as though she might just become calm enough to fall asleep for a little while. But she had to talk with Aria, so for the time being she put that wanting aside, opting instead to drink some tea for a little more energy.
"Our fights have become more common since... Oh dear," she muttered, noticing an unhappy coincidence. "Since that week where everyone was plagued by nightmares." She still had yet to learn what it was her fiancée had been dreaming about, but since she never implied that she wanted to delve into that, the blonde never asked.
"To be completely truthful, I have no idea at this point if the engagement is still on... She has been avoiding me, not saying a word to me even when I walk behind her, not meeting my eyes since the Day of Sun..." Her voice crescendoed as she spoke. "All signs seem to point to 'no', but if I say that outright, there is a chance I am wrong and I just do not know it! But then again, if I say 'yes' - I so desperately want to say 'yes' - then there is also the chance that I am wrong again. And I want to ask, but she will not speak with me--"
She stopped, realizing the effects of her distress on her body: her heart was beating uncontrollably fast, her voice was much louder and shakier than it had been a minute ago, her eyes were wide and stung with tears, and were her cup of tea any more full, she would be wearing most of it by now. "Aria," she said in a scared whisper, "I... I do not know what to do..."

The sight of Idina so upset made aria feel... feelings. She hadn't felt in quite a long time. Her face softened as she contemplated her next move. She wanted to make this better. She wanted everything to be alright and for the both of them to be back on good terms. She just... had a hard time figuring out how to fix it. Usually in this situation, an aggressive bear hug and loud sobbing helped, but she figured that may not be what the blond needed.
So she slowly reached out a hand to her instead, an open gesture that she could chose to deny if she preferred. She figured that she would be less likely to startle her.
"Well, perhaps what you need to do is allow Lila some time to cool. Perhaps then you will both be able to get clearer thoughts out." She offered the girl a weak smile, although concern still laced her expression.

Idina's eyebrows remained knitted as she looked up at her honorary sister for a few moments, glancing between her face and her outstretched hand, before she passed a sigh through her lips and her entire body relaxed. "Yes... Yes, perhaps she just needs space..." she mumbled, hopefully loud enough for Aria to hear her agreement. Bypassing the hand entirely, she leaned forwards until her head came to rest softly on the barbarian woman's shoulder. "This is going to be difficult, Aria..."
