How strange. The merchant couple's shop wasn't usually as quiet as this.
With her hands tucked behind her and beneath her cloak, Idina crossed the town and walked towards the shopfront. No customers were queued in front of it at the moment, which made getting to the front an easy task. Everything was laid out nearly for easy viewing, which equally made it easy to see what was off about it today: Drogo was nowhere to be seen. His wife, however, was seated proudly within, her typical professional smile on her face.
The healer offered a grin of her own upon seeing her friend. "Aria!" she called. "I see someone is missing. Is there any way I can help out in Drogo's absence?"

"Ah! Idina! How nice to see you!" she chuckled. "Yes, Drogo's resting at the moment, he was up all night trying to improve his crossbow" She sighed and looked down at her current sewing project, mending an old quilt. "I believe he's just over thinking it. But," She beckoned to the empty chair beside her. " I do have a few little projects i'm working on, I wouldn't mind some help!"

"Sure thing!" Idina chirped, settling into the seat next to the other woman. Reflecting on Aria's words, she chuckled to herself before offering: "Well, it is good that you know where he is, at least! And resting is better than running off and getting drunk who-knows-where... At least in my opinion."

"it is much better." she chuckled glancing back at the living quarters behind the shop. "I know he cant get into too much trouble then" She reached under the table and grabbed a small coin purse with a tear in the side, she handed it to Idina and began looking for a matching spool of thread. "So, how have you been dear?"

The blonde took the coin purse and turned it over in her hands a few times, both inspecting it for what needed repair and happy to have something to busy her hands with. "I have been quite well, thank you!" she replied, and her facial expression emphasized this. "The calm around here recently is quite lovely. I had nearly forgotten how much difference proper sleep can make to one's mood!"
Shifting her posture so as to be able to work properly on the task Aria had given her, she added: "Although, I do not mind having something new to do. As for yourself? How have you been?"

She looked down at the blanket running another stitch through the damaged panel. "last week was quite a nightmare" she sighed. "I never quite realized how essential sleep was until I was without it for so long." She looked up again, out at one of the nearby trees before continuing, "But, now that I can finally get a rest, i've has been far better."

"I agree completely," she said, taking a needle from the table in front of them. Once she had threaded it, she continued, "Lila and I caught a couple of sound naps together during the days after the whole ordeal on the Day of Sun. I had never quite felt as refreshed in my life as I did after those!" She grinned to herself, warm memories filling her head; after a pause, she returned to her stitching.

"As did Drogo and I." She smiled warmly, looking back down at her work. "As soon as the wraiths dispersed and that shifty minister ran off we closed up shop and slept the rest of the evening." she smiled . "It was just wonderful." she stopped her stitching and paused, frowning slightly. "I definitely do not trust him, whoever he is." Her frown curled into a snarl as she looked back down to continue her work. "its just.. It doesn't add up."

Idina noticed the change of expression Aria underwent, from a content smile to a snarl, and her own eyes widened upon seeing it. True, she herself had felt hostilely todards the new Minister in the city, although that had been after nearly a week of sleep deprivation; she hadn't been feeling like herself when she had gotten mad at him, that was what she told herself.
"How do you mean?" she asked. "What is not adding up?" She finished another few stitches before sticking her needle into the coin purse for safety's sake. "While yes, I agree that our newcomer is rather shifty..." - 'and more than a little creepy,' she almost added, but held her tongue that much - "but he was proven to have been telling the truth about his not being involved with the wraiths."

"I don't like the way he looks at you." she murmured. "Whats an old man like that want with you anyway" she shook her head. "sure he want involved with the wraiths I believe that... but still" she stuck the needle into the first layer of fabric on the blanket, stopping mid stitch, "He just happened to show up with wraith-be-gone rings just as the wraiths appeared." she clenched one of her hands into a fist and studied it as she continued "It seems too perfect to be coincidence. Even if his words were true, his heart is not." she cracked the knuckles on her clenched fist. "He and his mysterious Her are not worth my time, he's simply another snake oil selling false prophet." She relaxed her hand. "I have plenty to worry about around here already, and I would prefer he not cause any more trouble."

...The way he was looking at her? Even upon reflection, she couldn't remember any odd glances directed towards her. Although, there had been something strange in his tone the first time he had tried to approach her... Maybe her temper had made her hear things, maybe it hadn't...
As she listened to the barbarian woman talk, damaged purse momentarily forgotten, Idina had to admit that she was making some good points. Minister O'Donnell's arrival having been so soon after the nightmares had begun and spread through the area did seem odd... She listened attentively to her friend's words, and she felt as though perhaps some memories were showing themselves in Aria's suspicions and words as well as logic.
"Well," she began, "I certainly do not mean to say I trust that man with my life. Oh, no, nowhere near it. But what I am saying is that I would like to see what else he does before I decide if I dislike him or not. Does that make sense?"

She glanced at her friend, a mix of concern and frustration boiled in her chest, although the healers words on waiting to judge held meaning and worth, something in her just screamed at her to run. And run far. to take her smaller dear friend with her. "I suppose... That makes sense" she growled. "still, he looks at you as though you were a slab of fresh meat." She pulled the thread tight. "It's as though he studies you." She stabbed back into the fabric, nicking her finger as she did. She pulled her hand up to her mouth hissing softly at the sudden jab. She pulled her hand away to speak, "I'm not giving him any chances. I know his kind all to well." before she put her hand back to her mouth.

She jumped in surprise when Aria let out a hiss at having jabbed herself, her right hand instictively reaching forward to offer to Heal her. It hovered between them a moment while the woman in red kept talking, then fell back to Idina's side afterward. After all, a pinprick didn't desperately need a Heal spell.
The words that had just been spoken were reflected upon, turned over and considered in her mind like the coinpurse had been. She, personally, had not seen any such looks, although they certainly didn't sound anything short of suspicious. And she knew she herself was guilty of studying the odd person, especially if they were new to her...
After a few moments of consideration, the Healer looked back up to her friend. "Please know that I do not distrust your words," she began. "In fact, I know you well enough to know you would not lie to me. Even so, please also understand that I would like to watch him myself and evaluate how to react to him that way." She fiddled with her fingers, drumming their pads against each other, hoping that she had properly said what she had wanted to.

She looked back at her hand, the bleeding was not much, it was after all just a prick, as was the minister she chuckled to herself before returning to her previous serious state. She turned back to face the healer, how slight she was, how graceful, watching her it was concern that overtook her rage and bubbled to the surface. "you should stay away from him." She said. Her expression slightly more desperate than she would have liked. "You are kind, and although that virtue is a wonderful one, I fear that it could make you vulnerable." She turned away slightly, hiding the slight weakness in her face. "if you let him in, even just to watch him, he could manipulate you so simply." She explained, "He could use that kindness, twist it to get what he wants. Whatever it is..." She shuddered "that he does want from you"

Her freckled features softened as she listened to Aria's request. That... That was most definitely vulnerability in her voice. She shouldn't point out that she could hear it, but hearing it did strike a chord within her, making her hesitate. Once a few seconds had passed, however, she breathed deeply, looked Aria in the eyes, and spoke with as straight a face as she could manage:
"Listen... I want to know more about this man. His religion, his church, it seems odd to me. Most odd, though are those rings of his." Idina shifted her posture, as though her whole being wasn't comfortable with the thoughts she had. "I need to know what they do and what they mean. I have seen others with these rings, and I want to know what effects they have had on them. Even with that, however, I really do appreciate your concern," she added with a smile.
