Her eyes widened slightly to the statement of a 'friend'. "A friend you say, hmm well I have seen many souls pass through here as of late. I bring many people here to this very tavern so they don't freeze to death" she forced a chuckle.
"What does your friend look like? Maybe I have seen her?..or him?" She made sure to say the wrong gender first. Moving her hands to her lap, She opened her mouth to ask another question, when the barmaid pardoned herself placing two hot meals placing the ale in front of ashen and the water in front of Kell.
Ashen thanked the barmaid. She watched the barmaid leave she relized she would probably have to remove her cowl, she moved just her gaze to the half elf. She became nervous as she looked forward.
"Well shall we eat, I'm starving" she smiled. This was truth. It had been a while sense she ate. However she waited for Kell to say something, or to start eating.

"No doubt!" he chuckled. "I'm still having trouble getting used to the cold up here. On the nicer days it's rather refreshing. But those colder days are still hard to get used to." he smiled. This place was so different from the south. But not so much in a bad way.
"Though if that's the case maybe you have seen him. But I doubt that you'd stop to help him considering your dislike of elves." He set his pipe down carefully on the table as the barmaid returned with their order. Bringing his feet off the chair he stared down at the food greedily. But before he did anything he pulled the black headband off of his head and used it to quickly and expertly tie up his hair in a ponytail. It was a long time ritual and one he always used when eating. He had never desired a hair cut, but he disliked how it always ended up in his eyes and his mouth at meal time.
It wasn't that he hadn't eaten lately, but he always seemed to be hungry. He had quickly come to terms with this early in his years, chalking it up to his human side not being able to catch up to the energy his elven abilities expended. Savoring the first bite, he glanced up to the kinto. "I'm sorry if my manners are lacking. For all the time I spend in taverns it's not often that I dine with another person." He smiled sheepishly at her.

"Truly it's ok. I tend to have children at my table normally. Nothing you could do at the table could offend me" she giggled. It was true she had to teach many people how to be 'proper' needless to say she was barely proper herself most times.
She admired his features as she took a drink of her ale. He may act human, but he was very charming. She blamed the elf in him reminding herself he was a half blood, much like her.
She looked down at her meal, she knew her cowl would get in the way. Well if I'm going to appear casual...I will have to look the part as well, she thought. Reaching up and letting the cowl slide down, revealing her lavender hair, accompanied with feathers. Her normal look. She pulled her hair to one side gently and began to eat as well.
Her jade feline like eyes looked up at kell after they had enjoyed a few bites of there meal in silence. "So this friend also dislikes elves? Then how are you friends? I assume it's because your a half elf?" She questioned. Damn her curiously she cursed in her mind.

"You're comparing me to a child now?" He chuckled, his voice full of humor. "I suppose I do act like one now and again though." He took another bite, glancing up as she finally pulled down her cowl.
There you are, he thought to himself....She was pretty, certainly. The color of her hair not one you saw every day but certainly not off putting. He didn't let any surprise or curiosity cross his features and instead kept his calm and smiling expression. He was a master of his emotions, it was one of his first lessons when he had been trained. Be in control. But to control a situation or a blade you first had to be able to control yourself.
He smiled at her words. "You misunderstand me. I meant that you probably did not approach him like you would most travelers you say you help. He IS an elf." He figured that wouldn't be to surprising. He got along with most creatures, elves and men alike. Then again, it was helped greatly by the fact that he could seemingly turn on and off his elvish grace. To put it simply, when conversing with elves he was an elf, and with humans or otherwise, he was a man.
Well...that wouldn't be to surprising....unless she knew more than she was letting on.

chuckling at his comment of him being a child she continued to smile. Letting herself fall into a comfortable setting. She felt like she was catching up with a old friend, where had she felt that before?
"I help everyone I see, even if they are elf. No one deserves to freeze to death in the forests" she spook keeping her smile. "However me talking to one like this is a rare occasion, so you never know." She shrugged, if she didn't want to seem suspicious she would have to drop the subject and let Fallen confirm this 'friend' later.
She took another sip of her ale enjoying the taste. She really loved ale far to much for her own good. Finishing her sip she set the mug down and smiled at kell. "But I can probably bet I didn't talk to him."

"hmmm, I see." He nodded. She seemed so nice. It was unfortunate that she was so nervous and suspicious around him. But again he found himself asking wondering if it was because he was part elf or if it was something more. "Would you classify this as a rare occasion then?" he smiled coyly at her.
"Or do I not count because I'm only half-elf?" His push for information was so subtle that it barely existed. But this is what he was good at. He would probably have to up his game but no harm in trying.
The assassin realized that his meal was almost entirely gone and slowed down. He was still hungry. Maybe he'd have to order something else.

"Honestly i believe it's because your half elf, my scale sister is kinto, and elf...so honestly until I saw your bread I was suspicious of you being a full blood." She clarified then slightly winced and scolded herself silently for bringing up information on the silver scale, gods above Allynn was way better at this.
"But I'm getting more comfortable with your human..attitude for lack of a better term. Honestly is was more terrified of that 'Rin' girl. It's a long story that doesn't involve her but more or less female elves as a whole." She smiled nervously hoping to herself he wouldn't ask about her past. She was beginning to hate how comfortable she was getting. She was messing up, a lot.
She was letting information and weaknesses spill out. She couldn't tell if it was because he confirmed his friend he was looking for was 'elf', the ale, or his charm....or possibly all three?
"So..." She began to trail a bit. Trying the think of something to say, so he wouldn't being up anything that she would want to avoid in conversation, then it hit her. "You said you had a profession, I assume from your get up it's assassin? But I could be wrong. I was wrong about you at first so, it wouldn't be the first time I have been corrected tonight." She finished as she took another bite of her meal. Taking note on how fast he ate compared to herself...must have been hungry.

Again, the half-elf laughed. "It's not often I'm mistaken for a full elf. Not with this." He brought up a hand to stroke his unruly golden beard. "I'm mistaken for a man more often than I am an elf. These dashing good looks aren't very elvish." He grinned, toying with the food on his plate using his fork.
"But if you were so fearful of both her an myself I'm shocked you had the nerve to even speak to us. Then again, she is a very good dancer." Not many could match the grace an elf had at their disposal. And that grace made for very beautiful dancing.
He finally finished off his food, staring at the empty plate longingly for a moment before once again taking up his pipe and kicking back in his chair. His eyes twinkled a little when she asked him of his profession. "You can only be wrong so many times before you're right." He spoke, voice full of humor. "I am trained to be an assassin, yes." He puffed his pipe, stretching at the scruff on his neck with his free hand. "But even after all of these years I don't much care for taking lives. I work a lot in espionage and theft actually."
He furrowed his brow at her and paused for a moment before chuckling. "Although I doubt that's something I should be advertising now that I think about it."

Wavering her hand as if to shoo something way, ashen smiled, "would you believe I know a lot of assassins? There is only one I detest personally. Two assassins I know tried to kill me and ended up talking instead before going on there way" she chuckled.
This was true, and she wasn't even referring to Fallen, she knew many assassins. Normally she even feared them but as of late, not so much. "But I know after today, if my coin purse goings missing I know who to bother" she smiled as she finished her ale. Setting the stein down she laughed. "I'm jesting, unless it actually goings missing. If you wanted to steal from me I'm sure would have by now. Assassins I find don't talk much when they want something, so I guess this is a first"
She finished her meal as well, not as fast as kell but still finishing. Her cheeks where slightly reddened, it was starting warm in the tavern. However ashen remembered she had three strong ales in the course of an hour or so. She did wish the feel the affects of the drink but she also wasn't expecting to be talking with a half elf assassin. Perhaps it's time to slow down the drinks.
"So kell, you never told me how this elf was friends with you. Or even what he looked like? I may have seen him...If he looks anything like you I pity the girls you both must of talked to. They would be swooned" she giggled nervously, did I seriously just say that?!

"hm, I believe that." He puffed on his pipe. "Assassins are usually a scary bunch. But generally you'd have nothing to fear unless it's you their after. But at that point you'd already be in a hopeless situation." Except that unspoken rule was less and less kept the further he traveled. The more north he found himself the unrulier the assassins he came across happened to be. Killers....no honor at all.
"You have nothing to fear, I won't steal from you. In fact, I'm more inclined to pay for this. You look like you've seen better days, my dear." Not much escaped his eyes, especially not the worn and tired look that she seemed to have.
"As for my friend, we grew up together; trained together. But we lost touch a while back when he decided to leave." The assassin shrugged. "People come and go and you have to learn not to dwell on that fact. But when I received word that he'd be in that town a while back so I decided I'd join up with him again. Except when I got there he had already left." Kilindyl snorted a laugh at her words.
"Oh. You have no idea." His grin lit up his fact, bright eyes twinkling. He was playing along....but that wasn't exactly true. The man he was talking about wasn't one for the ladies. In fact, he wasn't very friendly to anyone. Quiet and reserved, his long ago friend was so unlike Kell himself who was indeed more of the people person. He even now and again ventured to call himself a ladies man.

Ashen's smiled slightly faded when kell brought up her tired and worn features. "Are they that obvious? I mean ya I have been really down on my luck, one of my people was attacked just the other night, but no it's alright I said I would pay!" Ashen reassured "it's the least I could do after how I acted earlier"
She smiled at kell, the more he talked the more he seemed to not know fallen, but this could be a trick, if only she knew for sure. "So, kell. How about telling me about yourself then?"

"That's unfortunate." The half-elf frowned, his concern honest. "Is it really that dangerous here? Are they ok?" Reaching inside his leather jacket he withdrew a rather hefty wallet and placed it on the table. "But that only gives me more reason to help. It's so rare that I spend the coin I earn, particularly on others in need. I've stolen so much isn't it about time I start giving back?" His smile returned, warm and friendly. This wasn't a ruse. He may be fishing for information but he truly did wish to assist.
"As for me?" He shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm not all that interesting really. Grew up in a small town. Ended up being trained in the art of being an assassin slash rogue slash whatever. I did jobs for the town but eventually decided to leave and see the world." He brought his feet up and onto the empty chair again, leaving back casually. "But it's been lonely on the road. It's hard for someone who's so obvious an assassin to make friends. Most just tend to avoid me unless their looking to hire me. Which is weird though considering my charming and friendly demeanor." He spoke the last sentence jokingly and with a wide grin.
He had done this many times and found that when one was looking for information it was easiest to befriend and even easier to lie with the truth. Nothing he said here was entirely a lie, that's why he was so easily believable.

"He will be alright, I plan on healing him completely today, it's my fault he got injuries to begin with. Apperently my friend was watching me from afar when drethiel, an ice angel came and began to talk with me. That's when my enemy Zu came from the shadows. The assassin I detest, and caught me and my friend off guard surprised. Dreth grabbed me and flew me away but left my friend behind. When I returned home some time later to fetch my tracking gear to find Nellaf, Well I found out he was injured as he was bleed on my door step. Took him inside, but when dreth flew me I was so startled that my claws ripped his back the shreds, and I used my heal spell on dreth not knowing Nellaf was hurt. so I did my best with herbs and bandages for my friend. He seemed ok this morning, no more grumpy and sheepish then normal. He doesn't like skin showing, not even when he is grossly injured. I know you assassins must be trained in it, but you people are very hard to read." Ashen complained at the end of her little story.
Frowning her brow playfully then returning back to her tipsy self. She was also Making sure not to bring up and unwanted details. She wasn't a hundred percent certain of kell yet. Dreth wasn't a target of assassins. Fallen was. She will have to reverse the names and use them as less as possible
Ashen's eyebrow raised when kell brought out his wallet, saying he wanted to give back. A thief wanted to give back? Now I have heard everything. But after that thought, she realized. He wants to help? Why help a random stranger want to-...why tell a random stranger your life story a few moons ago when you sat across from a different black skinned assassin. She reminded herself.
She smiled after kell's joke "well you certainly are friendly and charming but I think others fear you because your dangerously so" she jested back to him. She didn't know if she was falling for his charm and kindness?, or the ale still running it's course with her.
"Are you sure you want to pay? I can at least get my ale to make it less expensive" she offered again.
As she asked a thought came to mind, if he is an assassin from the same area as Fallen, would he have black arrows?could he even use a bow?She tried her best not to look nervous now with this pawsability. It was bad enough to keep track of all this information in check, she had to ask Fallen about vija, now about kell, doing so would make him want to run, but he can't if he was injured...so should she heal him? She didn't want her new ally to flee and go into hiding agian.
It was bad enough when she was scribbling in her journal she couldn't concentrate because all she could think of was if fallen was ok, if the winter night had gotten him and that she was a total idiot for letting him run away.
Keeping herself silent as she waited for kell to answer out paying, as her thoughts raced though her head.

"Wow." The assassin raised his brows. "That's quite the tale. People around here certainly don't mess around, hm?" He toyed with the pipe in his hand. "And indeed we are trained in it." He smiled coyly. Nellaf....that was an odd name...but who was he to speak really? "One of the first lessons actually. Deception is a huge part of the job, if, that is, you're doing work like I do. To a lot of assassin's the target never even sees them so it's unneeded." He pursed his lips thoughtfully. "I find that that's the case with those better trained assassins. Unlike the one you described. Either he is very messy or he never intended to actually hurt anyone. Or...he was just messing with you, which....really goes against the whole code."
He took a drag from the pipe before shaking his head. "But enough of that. If I let you in on all of the inner workings of the trade then all of my mystery will disappear." He chuckled. "And no, please, I've got this bill. There has been a lot of work in the past month and I spend so little next to repair and upkeep of my gear. Well, and the occasional meal. I hunt mostly so that's not really an issue."

Ashen felt bad for letting him pay. Normally she would insist and pay it anyway, however financially she knew she may not be able to cover it. Only now was her strength was returning sense she got a meal. "Only if your sure. And if your ever in the area, I'm actually really good at repairing leather armour, when the snow melts my blacksmith will return as well, we can repair your armour and weapons for free if you keep being so nice."
Ashen smiled, she would stay true to her offer she would just bring repair supplies somewhere either then home. She giggled slightly "and don't worry about losing your mystery, even though I know many assassins, my ability to figure out why you stay with that profession baffles me to no end. Your mystery is safe. Personally I'm still stuck on what your friend might look like and why I'm talking to stranger randomly, I seem to be doing that a lot as of late."
She was convinced now his friend wasn't Fallen, even for a trained assassin there should have been some clue she could have seen. Maybe. However fallen wasn't the only soul she helped, she brought in one dwarf two elf and two lost kinto and a changeling the past weeks. She even still sees there faces in Wildgard.
"I did help two to three elf from freezing to death, what type of elf was he? Wood elf? High elf? I still see there faces here in Wildgard I would be able to guild them to you as thanks for the meal."
