So many tomes. Dusted. Old. Unread for years. What knowledge they could hold. This I wonder.
Obscured by the shadows of the library, he traces his fingers along the spines of each book he passes. He takes their titles into consideration before moving onto the next, although it is unknown what he searches for. His silver-blue eyes dart back and forth in a bird-like manner.
I have read many tomes. Many of which have also read me. I am no more special than a simple book. Other than that I am Her champion. Those who cannot read will never learn. Learn of Her glory. Which shall soon overtake them.
He finally settles on a book that could suit his interests. It is burnt, frayed along the edges. Almost vomit-like in colour. On the side, it reads the title.
Wildgard's History. At last. Something of use.

Creaking of the doors as they open, a shadow some slightly darker grey then gleaming red eyes under a hood. Ryo's steps echoed through the hall into the main room filled with archives and books upon the walls. His thirst for answer regarding the Dark Temple and it's history, he wasn't sure if he felt a presence. Feng safe he muttered to himself:
"There has to be something here about the Dark Temple, even perhaps about the Scale and it's history?"
He walked along the walls trying to find the thing he seek most. No such success yet, the archives went up high on the walls...a bit of exercise couldn't hurt right? He sighed and grabbed hold to a rim of the shelve pushing himself up higher. Seeing another place to grab hold of, he quickly jumped and caught hold nearly slipping off the already small edge. He took a shaking minute where he sweated focusing himself as he dangled high off the ground. Again no luck upon finding what he looked for, in a sigh he pushed himself off the wall landing upon the floor with a loud crack and a groan of pain:
"Damn it I think that was higher than I thought..."
At that moment a pile of books fell upon his head making him fall to his knee holding his head moaning softly in pain:
"Ohh god-"
Another dozen books fell upon his head making him down all fours, a soft wail:
"-damn-"
Another dozen books again this time his lower back was covered with them, his head painful and his eyes filled with dizziness as he looked like he was about to pass out, his tone was irritated:
"Urgh...eat a paper dick library..."

Shatter. Bang. The library breathes life still. As lifeless as the tomes here? No. This one is interesting. And foolish, perhaps?
The feathers surrounding his cloak like a great shadow swirl around him. He pears from the side of a bookshelf, noticing a figure on all fours covered in books. The figure wailed in huffed in both anger and pain.
Yes. For sure a fool.
He sways around the side and begins to climb; unlike this hefty beast, he can stay atop the case without falling or even needing to find his own balance. He stays in the shadows, almost as ethereal as he is in his comfortable insubstantial plane.
"You seem to have made a nice nest," he jokes, his voice no more than a whisper in the dead air. "What brings you to this place, cloaked one?"

Ryo got up as he heard whispers within the library, mockery and questions. He knew that whoever was there was better at hiding within the darkness than he was, not that he needed it at this instant. He looked around his eyes gleaming blood red like rubies:
"One to talk you who hides in the shadows. I only yet but seek information."
He lowered his hood revealing his silver horns gleaming.

He has quite the tongue. This one is wittier than I suspected.
It is then that the figure pulls off his hood, revealing a set of silver horn and blood red eyes.
Does he mean to intimidate me with his appearance? I would guess as much from such an unholy being. But he does not strike fear into me.
The Raven leaps onto another ledge, still completely hidden from the man. The ruby eyes glow in the shadow of the dark archives, and his cloak sounds like a gust of wind as he soars between the shelves.
"What is it you seek?" he questions aloud.
"Knowledge?" His point is emphasised by the toppling of a book.
"Power?" This one is also emphasised by an action, although this one is no more than a gust of wind behind the man; no doubt from the assassin quickly rushing by without being noticed.
"Or perhaps something slightly...stronger."

Ryo wasn't phased by the swiftness or speed of the person in question. Even when he went close behind him, Ryo closed his eyes smiling softly:
"I seek the history of the Silver Scale along with the history of the Dark Temple."
Still Calm and composed he focused on his aura to at least keep a slight advantage.

So stable, this fellow. Does not flinch. Does not falter. And he is determined to find what he seeks. But why does he seek this?
The assassin slides down the bookshelf like a phantom, his presence but a shadow of black and hints of blue light. He swiftly swirls around the demon, allowing himself to be seen for small moments but no enough for him to know what he appears as.
"The Silverscale," he murmurs pensively. "And the Dark Temple, I hear. Now what is a sensible man like yourself doing getting caught up in the affairs of those people?"
"A trick? A trap? Does your blade itch for vengeance, or justice?"

The instant that the bookshelf fell Ryo dodged it still keeping his cool. He saw distinct blue and black even what seemed like feathers. The man kept asking him more questions:
"I simply which to understand it's origins, it's history. Simple information of some sort."
Slowly he closed his eyes and focused slowly upon his surroundings as if meditating.

The Raven's laugh is simple and elegant, yet it rings out like a thousand torments in the darkness. Shrill like the screeching of an eagle, dissonant like the caw of a crow, resonant like a dragon's bellow.
"A likely story," he repeats through his laughter, continuously leaping through the shelves.
Why should one search for what lies in front of them already? This man isn't quite telling me everything. He is conniving. He is tricky. Is it knowledge he truly seeks? Or is his tongue as sharp as a pike?
"Tell me, then, my horned stranger, why you do not just ask those around and above? What can these tomes tell you that cannot be told by word of mouth?"
Or is it something else?
"Something you want from them?"

Ryo's eyes were now purple and his mouth suddenly sewed shut by purple glowing strings, purple smoke emerged from his body disappearing into the thin air, his voice like metal creaking on a rock resonated through the walls of the library yet Ryo didn't move his lips:
"Foolish to judge one by simple appearances swift one from Shadows, we might be demons but it doesn't mean that we seek to manipulate someone or a household..."
He Paused and with a flick of his wrist made the nearest shelves fall down in a loud bang and crack, Ryo smiled softly his eyes still purple and lips sewed shut:
"That being said. We mostly wish to seek the history of the Silver Scale for...confidential reasons. Even maybe information on a young lass named..Ashen Windsong?"

His tongue speaks words. His mind speaks volumes. I can see his thoughts. As though his mind is but glass. Available for all to peer into.
One of the shelves topples under an immense force from the demon, but the Raven is already far from it when it is struck. He sneers as he slithers down behind the demon, resting his beak upon the creature's shoulder. His eyes stare upwards, piercing the shadow with their blue light, and his wings behind him trail smoke.
"The Scale's founder, Ashen Windsong," he murmurs, bringing himself to a standing position. He strolls behind the demon, his head twitching as he thinks, almost as if he is constantly being distracted by sounds around him. "I do know of this...Ashen Windsong. And it would seem perhaps I am not the only one wishing to see her dead? Would that be the case, unclean one?"
This is no lie. This 'unspoken reason' behind his curiosity. The kintu's head on a pike. A goal shared by Her and him alike. To bring about a new age. Will demonkind be of use to me for once?
"What is it that you require?" This inquiry is yet again a surrounding whisper, and the Raven has once again vanished from sight before it is even heard.

Ryo still had his purple eyes and sowed lips. With his mind alone he could speak all and nothing, he knew the man was now very open even interested in him:
"Not quite dead...yet I do need to beat the motherfuck out of her."

Such language. To be spoken from such a crude man. But his quest speaks to me. There is nothing I can do to impede him. Only what I can do to help him. And only what he can do to help me.
At last, the shadows pull away, and the Raven steps forwards, his boots light on the floor. Although now his mask is clearly presented in front of Ryo, the rest of his body is still surrounded by his cloak and the smoky shadows around him, as if he is using them to mask something. His head is pointed high, while his eyes look down at the demon condescendingly.
"The history of the scale can be found in this archive, if I am correct. And it would seem that both you and I have something--and only one thing--in common." With this, he pulls up his black-gloved hand with a silver and blue ring upon his index finger, and in his hand is a vomit-coloured tome, which reads, along its spine 'Wildgard's History, 4th Edition'.
"Our choice of enemies."

Ryo saw the Raven appear from the Dark, his footsteps echoing through the walls as he revealed himself. The ring upon his finger, a blue gem. Ryo's eyes widened still under the purple color. He sowed mouth smiled wide:
"I see you like to style of disguise from the city on water. Magestic like a wise bird and black and blue like the bird of her holy Chaos...a raven."
Ryo thoroughly enjoyed this man even though he was pretty sure of the man's identity. His interest I Ashen made him curious of this person even more:
"So you desire Ashen Windsong to be dead? Well I could certainly bring a partnership if you'd like?"

Smart. Collected. This man is both of these. But he wears his emotions like a scar. His thoughts. They will show. People will see. No matter how much he tries to cover them up.
He hands the book to the demon, being sure to keep his distance and his identity still a secret.
"This might have what you are looking for, and you can certainly help in what I am wanting," he began. "Ashen Windsong sits upon a throne of blood. A conqueror. A tyrant. Guised as a hero."
His cloak trails behind him, gathering clouds of dust in its wake, as he circles like a carrion fowl around the demon. His head snaps from side to side, but his strides are elegant like a swan's would be. He fingers the hilt of his dagger upon his black belt, letting his arsenal of weapons be seen. Knives. Sacks of powder. Vials of poison. A collapsible crossbow, too small to be noticed beneath his garb.
"But you are of an unclean race. The demonkind are a blight on Her purity. What trust can I place in you to form such an alliance, if you have potential for such evil..."
What trust indeed...
