She was covered in mud, her black and blue tunic nearly completely brown. Her hair had grown long and was a tangled mess. Her right hand held her polearm, her left she ran through her hair in an attempt to untangle it. She sported very thin light scars on her arms and one on her cheek, gifts from the ‘journey’ she had been on these last four months. She had lost weight, gained some muscle and hoped that she didn’t look too different from her usual self.
In the distance she could see Wildgard city. She stood at a crossroad. One path would take her to the city, the other would take her to Pan’do forest, to her home and family. She stood for a moment and thought, a luxury she couldn’t afford for long. Looking wistfully at the path to the forest she turned towards the city and raised her hood to hide her hair and ears. She hoped that Thoror’s tavern had an open bed and hot bath. She did not wish Ashen to see her in this state, and she wasn’t sure if she had been followed or not.
Arriving at the tavern she paid and was given a room and bath. She soaked in the warm water gratefully, scrubbed the mud from her body and clothes and laid on the bed. There had been a few faces that she recognized in the tavern, though there were also many new ones.
Rolling onto her side she went to sleep, her last thought being that she hoped Ashen wasn’t too mad at her. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day, after bathing and cleaning the few possessions she had on her so that it didn’t look like she had been trudging through a swamp.
She took the road to the scale, a path that when she had left was just that, a path. Now it looked more like a road that was well traveled. Her feet followed the path, still worried that Ashen would be upset with her for leaving. She had sent notes, telling her scale sister that she was alive and well, though she did not know if they had been received.
She came upon the doors of the scale house. Memories flooding back from when she had first seen the grand building, it seemed that again while she had been gone additions had been made to her home.
She opened the door silently hoping to not wake anyone, with a look around she placed her pole and her small bag next to the door and jumped into the rafters letting her tail hang down as she leaned against the wooden beams relishing in the smell of home. The scents of new people mingled in with the ones she remembered and it made the aroma only slightly strange, but it didn’t matter, she was home.

Jay was just about to leave the house when he bumped into someone familiar, though he couldn't quite put a name to the woman. He looked to see the women but she was no longer there, he looked around for the woman when he found her in rafters."Sorry ma'am I didn't realize anyone was going to visit the Scale today. Shall I let Ashen know you are here?" Jay said quickly, he was running late in for starting his chores but he wanted to be polite to a guest of the Scale.

Ashen was curled up with Fallen up in her room, the fire within the fireplace reduced to warm embers. Ashen heard a slight creek from the door, her eyes opened slightly. her ear perked up slightly as she listened. as she heard nothing for a moment, she turned more; nestling into Fallens white hair. even draping on of her arms over his chest to move in closer to his warmth. letting out only slight noises as she got comfy again. Slowly Ashen began to fall asleep again, taking in the his scent. Just as Ashen settled, her noise picked up something more then just Fallens scent...it was...
"Allynn!" Ashen Sat up suddenly, quickly staring down her door only to rush out of bed. standing only for a second to turn to the opening above the bonfire pit. Ashen ran down the hall to see Allynn sitting on a rafter above the bonfire pit. "ALLYNN!" Ashen called out as she leapt from the railing. Wrapping her arms around Allynn in mid-air. she heard Allynn call out in surprise. Turning to make sure Allynn landed on her instead of the ground, she felt the wooden planks of the floor collide with her shoulders and back.
After a moment Ashen checked Allynn to make sure she was unhurt, taking in her longer hair, now thinner and toned body. "what the Fuck! you got thinner! this angers me! EAT!...where have you been!?" Ashen continued to question as she pulled Allynn into a hug. Nuzzling her sister her tail couldn't help but swish in excitement for Allynns return.

Waking slowing to Ashen moving beside him, the drow smiled slightly, drawing her closer to him and sighing happily. Sleep still tugged at the corners of his mind and the warm furs of the bed and his mates body were comforting. Not even bothering to crack an eye Fallen was just falling back asleep when Ashen's arm slammed against his chest as she flung herself abruptly and forcefully out of the bed. Grunting in both surprise and with the impact, Fallen's eyes flew open only to catch Ashen's tail leaving view into the hall. Groaning, he swung himself out of bed as well. The air was chilly, even inside the scale causing him to slip on both the red and black jackets over top his usual black tunic before shuffling out the room after her. If he had sensed danger rather than excitement he would be moving a lot faster then he was. As he descended the stairs, he flung an arm over his eyes against the sudden light of day, using the action to also wipe the sleep from his eyes. "Ashen, by the gods, please give me at least a warning next time." His voice was irritated and still thick with sleep as his one open eye squinted across the room at her.

She was looking down at the vaguely familiar boy while she was deciding how to answer. suddenly she was knocked out of the rafters by a strong force and she recognized the smell of the person as Ashen.
she was greeted by a barrage of questions and chuckled lightly in response. "i took a journey to try and figure out these blasted emotions of mine. also you call me thin? where did the meat on your bones go?"
a third scent of someone walking into the room made her look around and she recognized the drow, she nodded her head to him in greeting as best as she could with ashen hugging her.
"slow the questions sister and i will answer as best i can. thoug i have one for you. how many new members do we have? there are so many different smells that i cant place them all."

Jay quickly looked between his mother, who evidently didn't stop to get clothes, and the guest, though with the way they greeted each other he figured to the woman he might be the guest, then to Fallen before shrugging. He wasn't going to question it. "Mother I'm about to go out to do my chores, would you like me to do your patrols while I'm at it? It looks like you want to catch up with the guest." Jay spoke to his mother, secretly he wished he didn't have to go. He wanted to find out who the familiar woman was.

"No! We are celebrating today!!! No patrols no gathering everyone takes a break today, I'll go hunting later!" Ashen continued to nuzzle Allynn, a slight purr coming from deep within her throat as her tail swishes. Turning so her gaze met with fallen as he walked down. "Sorry love, I just got a whiff of allynn and I couldn't stop myself when the excitement hit." She continued to nuzzle allynn as she spoke. Turning her attention to her sister agian.
"And I have gotten thinner I can't help it, haven't been eating much because so much has been happening!!" Ashen finally sat up allowing her sister to rise. Ashen began to fill in some details of thing a that happened. Ustrid becoming a Valkyrie, her shattering curse, the fort joining there forces under the scales name, bringing to take jobs at night to gain more money. All quickly in a flurry of words.
Suddenly ashen felt the cold against her skin, realizing she was in her undergarments. Shivering she slunk back to allynn side. "It's cold without fur" ashen pouted as she pulled allynns cloak over her "mmm warm~" she said playfully as she curled up more to allynn. "Oh ya! I think...8? Members? I have lost count...I'll check te books later."

Recognizing the woman to be the one he met a while back, Fallen stepped off the stairs towards the bonfire. It had taken a while but the scale was somewhere where he was no longer on guard unless he had reason to be. The people here were allies...for the most part. Groaning irritably at the brightness filtering through the windows he set himself down by the fire and shut his eyes. Not only was the day light getting to them but they were still overly sensitive from sleep and the darkness of Ashens bedroom.
"Just wake me up when you're going to leave." He said groggily as he rested his hands in his lap and his chin on his chest. If he truly desired he could force himself awake an alert in a blink of an eye. A skill he'd used often in his years alone. But right here and right now....he had no desire to.

Allynn watched as the drow moved over to the fire and seemingly fell back asleep. He seemed to have become much more comfortable here in the time she had been gone.
Looking at Ashen Allynn undid her cloak and wrapped it around her scale sister. after a moment her head snapped over to look in her sisters eyes. "wait, did you just call him love? what in the nine hells have i missed while i've been gone?!?!?!?!"

When he heard the name he realized where he knew the women from and realized why his mother had been excited. "Mother I don't know how many we've gained since she left but I know we have around twenty members now, not to mention we have your mother in the black temple and also Thea's fort is under us." He said before turning to Allynn, "Sorry for not recognizing you lady Shadowsoul. If I had I would have left you be and not called you a guest. My name is Jay Windsong. I believe last time we met I was a mute and new to the Scale" he said before bowing at the waist to Allynn.

"Ah yes much has changed, I keep forgetting how many members we truly have" ashen claimed as she wrapped herself more in her sisters cloak.
"And sister, sense you left, I have been threw much...something I wish never to take again....however I did break one vow willingly a while ago, to take another life mate. Fallen has always been there for me, protected me, and recently returned affects I thought I once lost..." Ashen looked at jay, then back to allynn. "He has accepted everything so far about me... My family... Everything. And just the other day I finalized him joining the family" ashen finished. Now feeling guilty on how she must have woken him.
Ashen looked over to fallen, who seemed to be asleep. It was only now Ashen realized just how early in the day it was. She turned her attention to jay."your only chore today my son, is to write a note to be placed on the inside of the scale door, letting everyone know today is a day of rest for all. And to spread the word of today's rest for everyone to know. That's all you need to do today" ashen smiled, as she looked at her sister once more.
"Are you tired sister? Your room is just how you left it, hungry? Thirsty? Please allow me to get you something and welcome you back home!" Ashen asked happily as she took her sisters hand I to hers.

Still sitting cross legged, the drow listened to the conversation without opening his eyes. A smile almost crept onto his face when Ashen mentioned them being together but he suppressed it. He was tired to risk people noticing that he was aware enough to be listening in.
He wondered then if it was selfish of him to wish that Ashen's sister had returned later in the day, AFTER they had woken by themselves. But at least Ashen was calling it a day of rest. That meant less time spent outside, which in turn meant less energy spent on edge and stressing over Ashen's well being. When he was in the scale he could at least more or less relax.

A sudden yell pulled Freyan from his deep slumber. still groggy he listened closely to for anything to give a clue about what was going on. He heard the sound of someone running and a shout, from a female (Ashen?), and a loud Thump. Suddenly wide awake, Freyan crept out of bed waiting for his eyes to adjust to the dark and listening. He heard the murmur of voices obscured by the floor boards, listening closely he could make out 2 maybe 3 voices, mostly female. His eyes now slightly adjusted to the dark, he stepped lightly towards his desk and opened a drawer, and took out a potion grenade. He may not have Fallen ' stealth but this grenade would knockout everyone is a ten foot radius, no need to be stealthy If your opponent is unconscious. He crept towards the door and opened it a crack and peered out, and saw nothing. Suddenly he heard another voice, male this time, he froze, and waited. Hearing nothing nearby he moved to the stairs quickly and as quietly as he could manage. Taking extra care at the stairs to avoid the steps that creaked, the voices were coming from the common area, and as he got closer he could make them out. Two he regonized, Ashen and Jay, but the third woman's voice he couldn't quite place. He moved to the doorway and peered in Upon seeing the scene he stepped into the room grenade in hand and looked in bewilderment at Ashen Straddling an unknown elf, and Fallen by the bonfire apparently pass out. "....ummm who's that? and should I be concerned or disturbed?" he said to the room

Allynn blinked at Jay. he had changed much since she had last seen him. for one he was talking. "wait...windsong?" she asked curiously before shaking her head and looking around again. "so you have a life-mate then. does this mean that there will be little drow kintu running around soon?" she asked her sister as her eyes landed on a man walking down the stairs. "oh, sister, is that the man you shot in the knee while hunting? is he finally awake? did he join the scale?" she was curious about all the new people in the scale. though she was scared to get close to any of them, what if something happened to them?
it was then that she realized Ashen was sitting oh her quite awkwardly and quite naked for those around her. she wrapped her cloak tightly around her sister attempting to cover the oarts of her that may make others feel awkward.

Jay smiled at Ashen. "Of course mother, would you like the note done now or can I wait until closer to when the rest of the Scale is awake?" he asked before turning to Allynn. "Yes Lady Shadowsoul, my name is Jay Windsong. Ashen adopted me." he told her before hearing her talk about the possibility of Ashen and Fallen having children. When they first got together he had thought of it, but afterwards he pushed it to the back of his mind. At the moment she was training him to eventually take over the Silver Scale but if she had children surely she should train them. After all, they would be her flesh and blood, he is not. He bowed his head and stayed quiet after that.
