Jay didn't know how long he'd been sitting here, maybe a few hours, possibly a day, but he couldn't move. This spot, the spot they found her body. He had failed, he was suppose to have been watching her, keeping her safe. After his fight with Lila he was unable to return to the scale for long. He knew it wasn't completely her fault, they all could have done more, yet he still looked her in the eye and blamed her. Why? Why did he do that? He looked back at the tree with sad eyes. "I'm so sorry Idina, I failed you more then once that day. First by leaving you alone and again by blaming your fiancee" he spoke, his voice filled with grief.

Lila walked through the forest, hand trailing the sleeping branches she passed while her other hand tapped lightly against the roughly hewn sword at her hip. There was an empty silence in her head, partially because of grief, but mostly because of the voices of the woods that had all but disappeared for the healer. She shook her head sharply, she wasn't a healer anymore. Lila needed to get used to thinking that. Perhaps once she was a healer, but now no more. Her bitterness had chased any magic left in her body out, replaced by sheer anger and the rage of a barbarian. What use was healing when Lila couldn't even protect those she cared about?
The caribou was on her way back into Wildgard, having run off after Idina died. Lila had entered Wildgard near the forest she had last seen Idina, dead. She wondered briefly if this was perhaps a bad idea, passing the place where Idina had died, before stopping and quickly ducking behind a copse of trees as a soft voice filtered through to her. After a few moments of listening, Lila recognized the voice as Jay. A flash of anger stiffened her spine and sent her hand tightening around her sword, but she stifled it and forced herself to remain still. The cloak that she had taken off her fiancee's body fluttered behind her, catching on twigs and branches.

Jay took a deep breath in, a scent catching his attention, Lila was near. He took a deep breath in steadying his emotions, she deserved to be here more then he did, besides he had to go back soon, help Ashen get the stuff ready for the burial. Standing slowly, he put his hand on the hilt of his sword and turned to where Lila's scent was coming from "would you like me to leave?" he asks. Perhaps she wanted her time here to grieve, and if so he would leave and let her have her time.

Lila jolted when the voice reached her, louder and directed fully towards her. Her ears flicked forwards, brushing against the white flowers of her new headdress. The other one was resting in the Silver Scale, lain on Idina's body for the funeral. It held too many memories for her to keep wearing it, the crown having been given to her by Idina, having been thrown to the ground when Lila first started doubting her chosen path, and again when they fought for the last time. In addition to her newly altered appearance, she had woven the white roses together when she left Wildgard, having found a field of them by the cabin Idina and Lila stayed in during the winter.
Lila shook her head lightly, taking herself out of her thoughts, and stepped closer towards Jay. "Doesn't matter." She stated, voice dull and monotone. "Stay if you like, I'm leaving soon anyways."

"Lila, I know we didn't part on good terms last time we... talked, but I want to let you know that if you need anything let the Silver Scale know. Idina was one of ours and someone killed her, you plan on avenging her, anything you need is yours" Jay said not moving any closer to the caribou, he knew that would be a bad idea. "I also understand you most like want to do this on your own so a warning, the merchants wife, Aria and the lizard, Stellio are plotting to go after the Raven. Thought you'd like to know" he stated. He hoped that she wasn't so different now that she'd kill two people who meant so much to the little flower queen, though even if she was she deserved to know that there were people who were possibly going to get in the way of her mission.

A sour look passed Lila's face as she heard of the merchant's wife and the lizard's plans. So far all signs pointed towards the Raven as the murderer, but those signs were few and far between as yet, so as much as Lila's blood burned with the desire to avenge her beloved, she would wait for now. But not if it meant giving up her chance to another. No, she would be sure to get there before them if that were the case. Or get to them first.
Regardless, she nodded at Jay's words. "I understand, tensions were high that day, and I feel few were thinking straight." Lila replied passively, deciding now would be a bad time to voice her distrust of the Scale. She took a seat on a nearby lowhanging branch, keeping one ear turned towards the forest but watching the ground by Jay's feet, unwilling to meet his eyes.

"Very few were, me especially, and for that I apologize. It wasn't very becoming of me." he said to her, also unwilling to meet her eyes.

Lila dipped her head in acknowledgement at Jay's words. "I fear that I too may have acted rashly. May be acting rashly." She could feel the anger of the class she newly embraced singing through her. She longed to strike against this boy who had spoken against her. Anger warred violently with Lila's natural passiveness, passiveness that she had not yet lost despite her change in heart. She looked up at Jay from her seat. "However, one should not apologize simply because of how their words made them look."
