She nodded once, satisfied that Stelio seemed to be aware of where his intentions lay. As he went on, the corners of her mouth lifted, and her face grew sympathetic; even the light emanating from her eyes and neck seemed to have taken on a warm glow.
"Of course," Idina assured. "Not very often, not nearly as often as in life. But I can guarantee you that you shall see me again. I know, because my father used to visit me much like I am for you now." Her smile broadened into a grin. "'Sweet dreams' applies to you as well."
She sighed contentedly, then straightened her posture. "Is that everything? I think you are to be waking up soon." She wouldn't force him out of the Plane. She knew firsthand how unpleasant that was.

"I'll have to start sleeping more often." I smiled. I was honestly happy, overjoyed even. I thought that I'd never get to speak to her again, but now I know that I'll be able to see and speak to her again. Who cares if she got me to give up my search for the raven? It was a stupid idea that wasn't well thought out. Of course, now I had to deal with an angry mob waiting to burn someone at the steak. But after word got out that I saw Idina, they would come to their senses. "Good night Idina, until we meet again." With a smile on my face, I swiped my thumb against the blue strip of the ring, and the world went black.
I awoke inside the scale, people probably moved me here to make sure I didn't get hurt. It looked like it was night outside. Ironically enough, Idina's body was still there, magically preserved so it looked as it did the day she died. There was someone else with me, Sarea I believe was her name. She was asleep, and seemed to be having a troubling dream.
I went about my business. I went into the pouch she pointed to and found the ring. I took her dagger, Winter Rose, (I'll never forget that name) and made a silent oath to only use it if I have to. I'd tell everyone her, Idina's, word tomorrow. Until then, I'll wait. I turned back to the girl. I seemed to remember Idina saying this one was like a sister to her. I went up to her and whispered in her ear, "Sweet dreams..."

With a small flash of yellow light, the lizard Kinto disappeared. The green spirit smiled to herself and breathed deeply, feeling as though their talk had gone well. She had no idea if he was going to follow through with her requests of him, but she trusted him; in any case, it wasn't like she could make him do anything now. She would have to be content with what happened.
All of a sudden, her breath caught in her throat and she felt faint. Something like this had overcome her before, after accomplishing a difficult and demanding task. She would put aside her needs and force her limits almost to breaking, then not feel the repercussions until after the deed was done. But this time was worse than anything else she'd ever felt. She felt as though she'd been dragged by someone for a great distance, and her legs wouldn't be able to support her weight for much longer...
This had to be a consequence of her soul and spirit being separated: her soul was still on Earth while her spirit was here in an almost purgatory-like place. Both were effectively trapped where they were without the other. Without her soul, she reflected, she'd had to fake much of the emotion she'd conveyed to Stelio, she had felt disconnected and empty. With a great sigh, the girl toppled over, and she remained motionless for a long, long time...
