He devoured scroll after scroll in an effort to learn everything, and conditioned his mind and body so that he might protect this knowledge, if necessary to do so. He stumbled upon a passage one night, while lost among the monastery`s vast library. (Indeed, the monastery was almost entirely filled with bookshelves, and the even the dorms themselves were decorated with the inhabitants personal scrolls.) The book made fleeting reference to the great demon of his past, and the demon`s summoning symbol. With horror, the young monk realized that the monastery emblem was that of Fenrir`s personal sign! He vowed to prove it a coincidence, and dug deeper into the matter. He took long journeys, always returning with a deeper sense of dread. The Monastery`s history was deeply entwined within the lore of Fenrir. After on such trip, Thistle was accosted at the monastery gates. The head librarian, as their leader was called, had gotten wind of the nature of his expeditions. Thistle was tried before the Monk-hood `s leaders, and was judged guilty of treason, consorting with demons, and the pursuit of questionable knowledge. He was stripped of all rank, and exiled. Thistle found refuge in Wildgard after a long and arduous journey, and many adventures.
