Jay paced back and forth in front of Rose's door, in his cat form with a bird in his mouth. He knew when him and Ashen started making plans to help Rose with her curse that it would take him a while to gain her trust back but this was driving him crazy. It has been three weeks since they but the plan into action and three weeks since he had heard more then a single word from her. 'Why is this affecting me so much' he thought. Slowly he worked up his courage and pushed the door open entering Rose's room for the first time since she'd moved in.

Rose was sitting on the corner of her bed, back against the wall. Her two furry brown ears were flattened against her hair. She could smell the cat outside, hear the soft falls of pacing paws, could smell the feathers and blood of the dead bird. It was easy enough to determine that the other cat was pacing outside her door, paws padding back and forth, back and forth. Rose curled her tail closer around her legs and narrowed her eyes at the door. She was mentally counting how long it was going to take for the cat to leave this time.
However, instead of the paws pausing and fading away as they usually did, the doorknob moved. She jumped back, pressing her back flat against the wall and bouncing onto the balls of her feet as her tail fluffed up, lashing out behind her. The door opened and the cat padded in. Rose pulled back her lips, baring her teeth. Her first reaction was to hiss and claw at the intruder, but she stopped. Even if she did not remember much past the last few weeks, she remembered the cat and his mother. It would be unwise to make enemies of those who's house she was staying in.
Rose had been staying here for the past three weeks, maybe more. She couldn't quite remember, everything past that was blurry and painful to think back into. But she'd been in this house long enough to recognize it's members, even if she kept to the shadows or her room. Sometimes even the rafters, usually late at night though, when most of the rest of the house was either out or asleep.
She stayed crouched on her bed and kept her teeth bared, but her ears twitched forwards and her tail lay still. "What do you want?"

Jay walked up to the bed dropping the bird then backing up, when he felt like he was far enough back he switched back to human. "Hello, lady Rose. I wanted to check on you that's all. I know you don't have much reason to trust me anymore, I know I broke what little trust you had in me, but I want to try and make it up to you. The bird is a peace offering. If you want I can leave." Jay said in a quick rambely voice. He was hoping she wouldn't force him to leave. 'Let me stay' he thought. Wait... why did he want to stay. Yes he thought of this women as a friend but that shouldn't make him want to stay so much. 'Oh well, I'll talk to papa Fallen about it later' making a mental note of these feelings.

Rose's tail started bristling again when the cat moved closer, but calmed again when he moved again. She tilted her head curiously, peering closer at the bird. It hadn't been dead long, that much she could tell. She looked back up at the cat in the midst of him rambling, as a human. 'Right, he could shift forms,' Rose remembered. The very tip of her tail twitched in slight amusement of how quickly the boy was speaking and the corner of her lips tipped up as her face shifted back to a more neutral expression. "You can stay if you wish." Rose dipped her head slightly as she spoke. "And thank you for the bird."
"But you do have to realize," Rose paused and looked back up, tail lashing across the bed once before stilling again, "You and your mother locked me in a room for three days. I have only your word as to why. Excuse me if that takes a bit to earn back trust from." The very end of her words were a hiss and her ears had flattened. Perhaps Rose was more acting angry than anything, hiding the gratitude she felt, but she would be the last person to admit that.

Jay had been watching her face and saw the slight smile before it had disappeared, that coupled with her saying he could stay and thanking him for the bird had him smiling as he sat. The next part made him frown. "I had actually argued with mother about locking you in there for three days but she said it was needed incase you had withdrawals. She said that while it was out duty to rid you of your curse for your sanity that it was also our duty to keep Wildgard safe." Jay told her. "If you'd like you can lock me in there for three days as retaliation" he offered looking her straight in the eyes. "I'll do anything to gain your trust back.

Rose sighed in exasperation. "I only have you and your mother's word about what happened." Her tail lashed again, but she relaxed from her defensive crouch. "And locking you in that room for three days will only serve to have one less person around the house, nothing more. Although I appreciate your willingness."
She paused, glancing at the bird and where Jay was sitting. "You can come in farther you know. I'm not going to attack you. Although if you could close the door that would be good." Rose had managed to keep out of sight of the rest of the household for the most part, the only sign that she was there being the food she ate and the chores she did. Although, occasionally, she had been spotted watching the going-ons of the house from the rafters. Rose preferred it that way for the time being, she would rather observe who she was living with before she flung herself head first into interacting with them.
Rose picked up the bird, ears twitching forwards. She absentmindedly fiddled with one of the feathers, watching out of the corner of her eye to see what Jay would do.

"Once again we only did that to save you from the necklace, if we didn't you wouldn't be able to speak right now." He stated calmly as he pushed the door closed and moved into the room a little more.
He noticed her fidget with the bird, "do you like to hunt?" He questioned tilting his head to the side slightly. The same as Rose did before.

Rose's ears twitched in annoyance. "I know that, you already said that." She snapped, before casting her eyes to the side guilty and apologizing under her breath. She glanced at the bird and tossed it from hand to hand, and nodding. "Yeah I like it well enough, was necessary for a bit." She shrugged.

Jay watched as she tossed the bird around. "I'm sorry." he said quietly. He hadn't meant to be annoying. "So how are you liking the Scale so far? I hope no one has bothered you too much." he said quickly once again sounding rambley.

Rose paused, tilting her head and thinking for a moment. "It's...nice..." She glanced down, hiding a calm, rather pleased look. "Seems like you all are rather close." She purposefully separated herself from the rest of the Scale with her words, making every effort to stifle the comfort she felt here, the familiarity she already gained with the building even with only scarcely leaving. "No one has bothered me, hell I don't think many have seen me. I've not been leaving much." Rose shrugged, holding the bird still.

Jay smiled at Rose. "Some of us are really close, others not so much." He told her when thinking of how close he is with Ashen and Fallen but not Freyan or Luxley. "I hope some day soon you'll feel comfortable enough to come interact with some of us outside of this room. I'd really like it if we could get to know each other a little better" he said, his smile turning a little timid. What if she didn't want to get to know him or for him to get to know her.
