Such a wonderful day.
The leaves, brown, orange, and yellow, reminiscent of a campfire, fell from their connected branches and onto the crisp, green grass. The sky, so pure and crystalline that one could see for miles and miles on the prairies. The wind, chilled but not frigid, making cheeks look rosy and fresh.
A good day for walking. For smiling.
The Minister hummed pleasantly as he navigated his way through the gravel streets of the town square, bustling with civilians that laughed and smiled; it seemed the residents of the small but quaint little shire didn't want to ruin such a nice day either, especially with winter on its way. It made sense that they'd want to obtain their produce before the shifting of the seasons.
He tapped the handle of his thatched basket, half-full with herbs for tea, fruits and vegetables so colourful they could be tasted just with a glance, and a few flowers from jovial passersby. It was good to know that the people thought of him as an ordinary, old man.
And he was just an ordinary old man!
His slanted eyes widened as he noticed the peculiarly large crowd in front of a small shop; the one belonging to the merchants that distrusted him ever so. And they had every right to. He'd shown up not seven days past at a time when they were dealing with some particularly meddlesome wraiths with the ability to stop them and had a church built where--apparently--once was some sort of satanic temple feared and despised by the people.
Of course, he wouldn't hold it to them. After all, why be so grumpy on such a glorious day? He was here to make friends and start anew from all that had passed.

The lady merchant noticed immediately the tall old man standing near her shop. She watched him in the corner of her eye, hunching forward and drawing her cape around herself. Although his words on the wraiths were true, she did not care for snake oil salesmen or men of god, He seemed to be both. "What brings you here?" she asked with just a dash of venom in her tone. She didn't want to scare him away per-se, but she did want him to know that she did not trust him and his mysterious her.

O'Donnel stared right back at the merchant; despite her size--or lack of size, more or less--he still felt greatly intimidated by her presence. Large, angry, and married to Drogo, she knew how to handle things, including people she didn't like. The Minister was one of those people.
Still, he felt no anger towards her and simply stepped forwards with a smile on his thin lips. "And good morning to you as well, madam. I was just in town, doing my regular gathering so that I wouldn't go hungry for the week. It seemed as though your shop would be a great place to purchase some goods, as well as possibly...apologize for any misunderstandings of when I first arrived."
Placing his basket down, he stuck his right hand out towards the woman. "I am Minister Cillian O'Donnel, and if ever you want to ask about my seemingly suspicious actions, don't hesitate to let me know. It is truly a pleasure to meet you, Miss...?"

She remained in her hunched position. She did not like this man. There was a pause while she looked him up and down, inspecting him trying to figure out if he did honestly show up just to fix things. He seemed suspicious; However he also seemed in a way, so very... innocent. How he simply walked around, gathering food and herbs, but, at the same time this man was brave enough (or foolish enough) to try and reconcile with her, and that made her conflicted. "Aria" She replied taking the mans hand cautiously. She figured a conversation could help her deduce whatever it was he really wanted, if there was anything at all. "We sell many things... Is there anything in particular you are looking for?" She continued to watch the man intently, waiting for a reason for her to drop kick him out of the shop.

O'Donnel looked in his basket, then back at the woman. He surely was missing something from his collection, and he hoped to goodness this woman had it. After all, she did want him to get going once he'd obtained his goods, and he had no intention of getting her angry.
So he decided he'd stick around for a bit.
"Well, I am in need of some bread...after all, what is a meal without bread?" he joked, chuckling his slight, airy laugh. "But if you don't mind, I'd also like to stay a bit. After all, if I'm going to spending a lot of my money here, I might as well get to know the owner, wouldn't you say?"

She placed her hand on the table drumming her fingers rhythmically. Although she did not like this man, she did like money. And she did in fact own bread although it was for her and not for sale, she figured she could make an exception. She did want him gone.
"I suppose.. It is wise to get to know new travelers." She replied, her fingers still tapping. Still contemplating this strange old man and his thirst for bread. After a moment she began. "Tell me, why did you come to this place?" she inquired.

(Sorry about the Long Overdue Response)
"This place..." he repeated, looking over the shop at the ceiling, then the floor, and finally back at Aria. "Well, mainly for groceries and conversation."
He picked up one of the flowers from his basket, sniffed it lightly, and then passed it to the woman, hoping and praying to Her that she didn't take his arm with it. "A child gave this to me in the streets today. Lovely lavender, is it not? If you're wondering why I came to this city, this should be enough of a reason."

(That's quite alright!) She was still suspicious, but she did love lavender, she couldn't remember if she told Idina this but realized she should. She took the flower from the minister, examining it, noting its lovely scent. After a few seconds of pondering the light purple plant she replied to the minister.
"Huh, didn't know we had many children in the shire." She couldn't remember any offhand that had been running around that day. Or any at all for that matter, other than the lady elf's boy, not many young ones had been around.
"But I digress." She continued "I'm certain you have more reasons than lavender to be in this town. At least I would hope so. I wouldn't put up with all this chaos for a simple flower." She remembered her dear friend who herself resembled a flower in her fragility and grace; and the chaos she put up with for her. A kind, simple, flower.
Her thoughts wandered slightly as she found herself twirling the lavender between her fingers once again, awaiting the minister's reply.

O'Donnel nodded in agreement, withdrawing his hand from the woman. She would not let go of her bitter feelings towards the priest, and with decent reason. He'd been here a short time, but he still wished she'd at least trust him when he said he wasn't up to anything suspicious.
"I have friends here...good friends who I trust well. They've told me of all the troubles this place faces with evils, be they demon or not. The dangers that this place presents." He turned his head downwards towards his basket and smiled gently. "But I have also heard of the people. The innocents whose lives are in danger of these evils. The children who, although few in number, deserve more than to grow up fearing everyone and everything. I bring hope, and although most people do not accept it directly from me, they may find it in another who I've touched."
He smiled, hoping his words could change the barbarian's mind about him, but knowing very well that she'd just drop-kick him out of her shop.

She still had the flower to her face, but she looked up from behind it, smirking ever so slightly. "You seem... Tense, minister." She began. Up until this point she was thinking about giving him the boot. Quite literally. However, now that she was actually getting somewhere she figured it was worth a shot to have him around.
"Well, most of us are quite competent at killing and banishing most evils. I myself killed a demon my first day in this town." She chuckled. "What makes you think that you, a minister with no weapons can take out the evils of this town?" Her smirk grew wider and she leaned in closer to the minister. "What are you going to do when a wyvern shows up? Offer them a soothing jasmine tea?" She made a circling motion with her hand and spoke in a mock rich accent. She then began snickering to herself, laughing at her own jokes as usual. at least she thought they were funny. And her husband if he was drunk enough. Shortly she regained her composure and moved to her next question, about the minister's alleged connections.
"Friends? Here? Who?" She turned her head slightly. "Have they lived here long?" She racked her re-composed brain for people who would have mentioned this mysterious minister, but came up drawing a blank. Perhaps they were people she did not talk to. Perhaps it was a rouse. Her hand now rested upon her lap whilst the other still held the blossom.

Friends. Yes, he had friends here. How was it so hard to understand that he did indeed have friends that weren't Gods?
"Lukis Vinterheim, among them. If I recall, he's been here for a few years already," he explained to her. With a coy look, he added: "You must know him, of course? I'd think with his...reputation, he'd be well-known by the people here."
He thought back on the drunk Nord, always so pleasant and cheery but usually equally stupid and slobby. It made him almost not want to let him in his church, given his awful eating habits and the fact that he had no alcohol to keep the Nord satisfied. Still, he wouldn't pass up a chance to visit him again, if he could actually find him. Well, him, Ibilin, and Sarea. He knew they were here. Where in the city was not to his knowledge.
"As a matter of fact, it's been quite some time since I've seen him. Would you happen to know where he is?"

She sat up straight. She did know Lukis. Very well. He was a good friend of hers and had been for some time now.
"Yes! I know of him we are good friends! Drinking buddies" She chortled. She loved that bastard. He was rather unruly at times, but she often was too after enough ale. Well back when she still drank. The two raised a lot of hell together and enjoyed it, well they often just got sloshed together and slurred old sea shantys, but it was fun for the both of them.
Concern slowly overtook her look of amusement. It is true he hadn't been around lately. Where indeed had he gone?
"Well, now that you mention it.. I have not seen him for a while..." "Perhaps he wandered to find better booze pickings elsewhere? Our stores are regrettably not so diverse."

"Yes, it has been some time since I have seen him. Although, knowing that lump of a fellow, he's probably off drinking himself into a pit," he chuckled. "Oh, how that man makes me smile!"
He began to draw his finger across his ring, making sure that he'd not touch the slit; after all, he was having a mighty fine conversation right here. But, alas, he remembered that Drogo still had some of his rings, and they didn't seem to be on display. Perhaps he was saving them, or using them for himself, or even importing them. But they weren't there, and the Minister wanted to know what he was planning on doing with Her rings.
Especially because of the strange noises he'd been hearing occasionally from his own. He expected only Drogo was behind it, as Lukis' noises were very familiar. Usually idiotic ones, mind you, but still familiar to the cunning man.
"Just a question, if you don't mind me asking, which, I know you will mind me asking, but here I go anyways. What ever happened to those rings you were going to distribute for me?"

"Ah, yes... those rings.. well.." Her husband had eaten one and had most likley melted down the rest.. there was no good way to say this... "Well you would need to talk to mu husband..." She tapped her fingers on the table.
