The drow shook his head about to answer, but stopped when she offered him water. Drinking it so quickly along with the herbs he nearly choked. This was the first time in days that he'd been offered water.
As he recovered, he listened to her speak. So it was true...what had happened with Lin wasn't betrayal, he was being used. He had had enough mind to tip Ashen off. It was a miracle that she had managed to find this place at all. "I had given up. I was waiting to die..." Despite his voice still being a quiet rasp, the waver in it was obvious. "I hadn't thought..." He trailed off, his voice catching in his throat. He hadn't thought she'd be able to find him. He hadn't thought she'd continue looking. He hadn't thought anyone would ever save him.
"They would have caught up eventually...and had I not stopped in Wildgard then what I had thought would have been true." He tried to reassure her, not liking her expression. She wasn't to blame. Not even Damian was to blame. It was the town in the end, the people making the choices. They had been young when he had escaped, now they were old, bitter men.

Ashen smiled as she looked down at fallen, moving the hair away from his eyes. even in his pain, his misery, he didnt want her to think down on herself. resting her hand gentle on his cheek, tears starting to fall down her face "You should never give up when someone loves you. even if Lin didnt tip me off, i would have looked endlessly for you, to you ill always return. Hell wouldn't stop me...im going to bring you home now, im going to get you all better and good as new." she looked over his body again, the nails in his feet would make it hard for him to walk. "i have to remove the nails, its going to hurt. i hope the herbs have kicked in, ill be as quick as i can i promise." she moved toward his feet, quickly she as promised, she removed the nails from his feet. moving back up to fallen torso and began to try to help him up. her left arm screamed at her, she could feel the bones grind as she used them. "...damn it" as she wrinkled her nose, she could feel it broken as well. her bruises on her face stinging as she squinted. she cursed quietly she bite her lip threw the pain. she continued to help fallen to raise him to her feet, being careful she draped his hopefully good arm over her shoulder. "come on, lets get out of this hell hole..." she was tired, and she wasn't even done. she still had to get fallen out, find lin and find Damian and the elders, so they could never come after Fallen, lin or her. slowly once Fallen readied himself, ashen and Fallen took slow and steady steps out of the cell, she didnt have her axes..only her bow and throwing knives. both needing her arms that where currently being used to support the drow. all she needed was a bit of luck. perhaps she would stumble across a certain half-elf, some extra 'man power' might be all she needed.

"I'm used to pain..." He whispered. Although coming out didn't hurt nearly as much as when they went in, the drow grit his teeth and gasped when she wrenched them out. Trying to keep his wheezing breath calm, he accepted as she carefully pulled him to his feet. Putting most of his weight on her, each step he took was difficult. His frail body was broken and unused to supporting his weight. Every ounce of strength and muscle he had was gone, withered away until he was almost skin and bone.
Clinging to her weakly with hands that barely worked, he couldn't keep the pain from his features. It had been engrained there for so long even his will could not banish it. For the most part, it was only each step that was agony and even though they had just left the cell, he was already exhausted. Head lowered and with strings of dirt colored hair falling across his face, he let her lead him.
This was up to her. He would be of no use, not if they ran into trouble. In fact, he would do the opposite. "There are guards..." His voice rasped in her ear. He knew enough to know they were there. After all Damian had asked them to post a guard outside the cell. Obviously they had not arrived yet, but they would be coming.

"then ill kill them...i may have to put you down quickly, but ill kill them and get you out. even if i have to transform again, rip them apart with my fangs and carry you on my back. the only reason i haven't done so already, if i dont know if you can hold onto me." Ashen looked at him, her face saddened noting how much pain he was in. she could just put him on her back.
there was a thought, her arms could be free if she wrapped her cloak around him. she could run, get him out of this hell hole faster.
"your lighter then you look, i could carry you on my back...it would be a bit...degrading, but my arms and legs would be free. i could wrap my cloak around you, tie us together. do you think that will work? i could fend of guards, and get lin...." she was unsure. she could almost sling him over one of her shoulders and run, he was so light.
"i dont have much of a plan...my ideas kind of...stopped when i saw you."

"I like your plan more than I liked my plan..." His words were quiet, both because it was painful to force them from his raw throat and in fear of guards hearing.
"I wouldn't be able to hold on." The whispered words were full of regret and pain. Between his unusable hands and his ever waning strength, he knew that he wouldn't be able to keep himself on top a moving panther.
"Wait. What happened to Lin?" His arms tightened around her shoulder in fear. Despite everything that had happened, he still cared for the man. His brother and his friend.
As they rounded the next bend in the hall, Fallen stopped moving, pulling his arm weakly from around her to slump heavily against the stone wall. "Leave me here to find Lin." He looked at her then with more resolve in his gaze then he'd had for months. "Even if guards stumble across me they won't harm me. I'm not a threat to them."

"Fallen thats insane! im not leaving you here! i can carry y-" her words stopped seeing the seriousness, on his face. He was right and she know it. taking away one problem to solve it later. 'god damn it Fallen.'
Ashen removed her mask, helping fallen to a sitting position on the floor. Ashen looked at him, hating where he put her. hating the whole problem. looking away slightly she hated the thought of finally having fallen again, only to let him go. "if this is really what you want me to do...to find the man that ratted me out, then fine but i swear, if you die when i come back..." Ashen looked at fallen, trying hard not to look at him with anger. "i will never forgive you, and i will join you after i kill every last person responsible. BE, alive when i come back. Promise..." Ashen leaned in and kissed Fallen again, she had no idea if this would be her last meeting. she sure as hell wasnt going to miss any more opportunities with him anymore. she promised herself that.
after ashen moved away from the kiss she took off her cloak, draping it over Fallen below his neck. it would at least keep him warm, until her return. she also took out one of her knives slipping it into fallens hand, knowing he couldn't quite grip it, it was still something if he needed it.
Standing with grimace she looked around, sniffing the air. the air was heavy, dank, and dirty. it was hard to find particular scents, thinking she knew which way to go. she looked back at Fallen, one last time. tears threatening to fall again, hoping, praying this wouldn't be her last time seeing him. "be safe...ill be back." she chocked on her last words slightly as she took off and ran down a hall adjacent to them.
she ran as fast as her legs would carry here, her head looking left and right as she pasted a door, checking though the eye holes as she ran. if they where closed, that was the only time she stopped. 'come on, it shouldn't be this hard.' she cursed to herself. after what seems liked an hour ashen saw two guards and quickly hid a distance away around a corner. 'that must be where Kilindyl is....' she thought
how was she going to do this, she had banshee, and a good supply of arrows, but if she missed and the guards where to come at her, she only had her knives to defend her. then something caught her eye, one of the guards had one her axes. Finally a stroke of luck! she smiled as she knew what to do next, pulling her bow from off her shoulders and poisoning the tip of a soon readied arrow.
she breathed in and sighed as she closed her eyes, then opening them she turned the corner as she whistled. she shot her arrow, luckily impaling one of the guards in the leg. not only would it stop him, by the time she got to the door, he would be dead. the other guard now angered by he injured ally, charged at ashen. he was fast, so fast ashen knew she wouldnt have time to ready another arrow. instead she quickly slung banshee over her shoulder and ran at the guard, there feet pounding on the stone. the guard drew back ashen ax and readied to swing. "cute you think you can hit me with my own weapon?" she taunted.
stepping on his knee then shoulder and leaping past him. as if the guard predicted the move, she turn punching Ashen square in the stomach. winding ashen as she flung back hitting the iron door they where guarding, denting the door slightly. Ashen let out a slight yelp of pain, as he back met with cold metal. only to fall to the floor knocking the rest of the air out of her tired lungs. the guard came up with her ax above his head, looking down at her. "hehe...cute, thinking you could not be killed by-" the guards words where cut off as ashen grabbed the dead guards weapon ramming it into the gut of the other threw his armor. "dont us my shit against me..." Ashen growled as she chocked up some blood. slowly the guard feel, dead. taking her ax and the keys on him, she used the door frame to help her to her feet. Glaring at him as she rose. "asshole..." she grunted as she opened Kilindyls door. it swung open slowly, as she leaned on the door frame breathing heavily.

Sliding down the the floor with the kinto's help, Fallen let his exhausted body go limp. Looking up at her, his brows drew together. "I've lasted this long..." Was his only response. A response, but not the assurance that she wanted. He couldn't promise, the situation was out of his control. But what he could promise was that he had regained his hope. He wanted to live, and unlike before, he saw himself having a future.
Trying his best not to let the dagger slip out of his hands, he nodded to her. If Lin was down here as well, the he mattered just as much. This place wasn't somewhere anyone should be. Shutting his eyes and letting his head drop to his chest he let out a breath. What happened now was in the hands of fate.
--
Even at the sound of battle outside his cell, the half-elf within didn't so much as move. Having collapsed against the back wall on his cell, the man stared dully at the floor. Keth was dead....Keth was dead and it was because of him. He had been the one to bring him here....he had been the cause of the entire tragedy. From the very beginning it had been him...
The fire that normally drove Kilindyl had been all but snuffed out. Letting his limbs lay heavy in the chains, he began to succumb to his wounds. When they had left him here they hadn't bothered healing him. They hadn't even bothered removing his jacket and armor. The only thing that had kept him going, kept him fighting and denying the pain and his waning strength was the thought of Keth escaping. But in the end he had ruined that too.
When the sound of battle ended and the door swung open, the sound of heavy breathing caused his dull eyes to shift up to the person standing in the doorway. From behind the blond hair that was matted to his forehead in dried blood he stared for a moment in surprise before he looked down again in shame. If Ashen was here that meant one of two things. That she didn't know Keth was dead yet and he was the first she stumbled upon....or she knew and she was here to kill him.
"I'm sorry..." He whispered, his normally cheerful and strong voice quiet and defeated. "I'm sorry..."

"Shut up!" she hissed garbing onto her side. ashen she walked forward. knowing now the guard had broken a few ribs. as she walked to him "give me one good reason to let you out of here...." She growled in anger. looked down at him, she fully planed on setting him free. its what Fallen wanted after all, but he didnt needed to know that right now.
"riddle me this...why did you rat me out? why did you fight me back there in the wizards room? does it have something to do with runes i saw on your soul a while back? Start talking. your reasons better be good." Ashen looked down at him, her anger from the fight still defusing. growing impatient she lifted his chin, with her ax.

The assassin seemed to shrink before her anger. Normally he wasn't one for the self-defeatist attitude but everything in his world had just crashed and went up in flames. The cold steel that touched his throat was just as cold as her words. He briefly wondered that if he stayed silent she would just slit his throat and be done with it.
Instead he spoke, unable to make eye contact with her. "Yes..." His words were a whisper. "They hadn't found a reason to activate the soul bind until they realized I'd lying when I'd told them that..." His words trailed off. That Keth was dead. He paused for a moment before speaking again. "My body has not been my own for months..." Swallowing dryly, his face furrowed in pain with the next memory. "After they brought me here...I could hear him screaming...." His voice cracked. "I told Damian to take it out on me but he wouldn't. He told me that if I didn't give your name he'd..." ...He'd make Keth continue screaming.
The next words were so quiet they were barely a whisper now. "It hardy matters now...." She should leave him here to take the punishment that should have been his and not his friends.

Ashens face softened, to his sincere sounding words. something was off, it didnt matter though. she believed him, that's all she needed. seeing how that he sold her out in an attempt to lessen Fallen pain. she might have done the same....
slowly she moved her ax away clipping it to her belt once more. "i matters alot when he sent me to get you, you had better be telling me the truth lin... for the love of all that is holy, tell me your legs still work..." she more or less ordered as she took the keys fimbleing around with the shackles. first his arms where freed, then his legs.
"i hope you are alright, i cant heal another person for a while. i assume this Damian is Fallen Torturer...i plan on killing him if you can get Fallen out of here." her anger only sparked as she discovered his name. know that she knew, he could run and she would still find him. "we dont have alot of time Fallen is waiting..." Ashen began to rise to her feet, getting ready to leave the cell. if Kilindyl believed her or not, that was his problem.

As the kinto fumbled with the Shackles, Kilindyl didn't make a move to leave. Instead he stayed slumped against the wall, head down. "I can walk, but..." Her words were confusing him...and the more that she said confused him even more.
Brow furrowed, he looked up at her. "Damian killed him. He'd dead..." The words were more like a question than a statement. Could it be that he'd been lied to? Had Ashen really come in time? Had they both survived the trap?
But...If that was what happened then how did Damian have the time to come visit him here. What in the world was going on??

"he tryed, after sending many men to there deaths by me, he managed to pin me down...he stabbed fallen in the chest, needless to say shackles dont really work on me and i dont have my heal spell right away for a reason...come on, Fallen isnt out of the woods yet... one of us can carry him, the other can fight of the guards that are heading his way, now stop sulking and hurry up..." Ashen spoke as she walked away. she didnt have time to be gentle, as much as Kilindyl may have needed it. "if Damian told you Fallen was dead it was a lie."
Ashens hand began to glow green, as she turned to face him. "Truth is fallen alive" she placed her hand on her chest. the green glow moving from her hand to her mouth. "For now, yes" she smirked at Kilindyl, knowing full well he would recognize her spell. "Haul Ass Kilindyl, we arnt finished yet." she turned to the guards on the ground, grabbing here weapons and tossing two blades that slide in front of the half elf.
"keep up...im not waiting" Ashen turned around again and began to jog down the hall running back to fallen. "Come on! he's Waiting!" her voice farther away.

"..what.." As she spoke, Kilindyl was washed with relief that was quickly replaced by anger. That bastard....that bastard....if Ashen didn't get to him first, Kilindyl would gladly slaughter him.
The dying embers inside the assassin caught flame once again, roaring into a raging inferno. Forgetting the splitting pain in his back and his pounding head, the half elf launched himself to his feet. Swiping up the two daggers on the ground, he nearly beat the kinto to the door. Had he known the way might have.
With his back always facing the other way Ashen couldn't see the blood, both new and old running down his leather jacket. The injury that was slowly killing him, sapping his strength and energy went unknown. He was running on purely adrenaline and anger now, not allowing himself to stop at any costs. "Ashen promise me this." The assassin huffed, running just behind her. "If it comes down to it...even if Keth argues....If it comes down to him or me....chose him." His words were spoken between each heavy breath. If it meant Keth escaping this place, he would accept any fate today.
--- Across the maze of narrow halls and tunnels, the sound of heavy boots roused the drow. Lifting his head, he cast a wary glance down the fire lit hall. Sure enough, four guards rounded the corner at a jog, their armor grinding. Damn... The drow could feel his heart drop in fear.
One of them shouted something as they approached him, slowing to a stop and drawing their weapons as they scanned the hall suspiciously. "Where's the woman, drow." One of them spat at him, placing a heavy boot on his bare chest. As the minutes at passed and he had nodded off, Ashen's cloak had slipped down to his waist.
Not answering, Fallen let his head drop to his chest. Letting out a steady breath and locking his jaw he forced his hand to close around the hilt of the dagger so it wouldn't slip out of his grip and clatter to the floor. Only about 3 fingers painfully obeyed his command but it was the best he could do. Hiding his hand under the cloak he waited. Ashen come on...he hoped that he wouldn't have to engage them, he was to injured...But she had only been gone for maybe 10 minutes...
"Answer me, filth!" The soldier growled, before pulling back and kicking him in the ribs. Whimpering, Fallen fell to his side and hissed in pain.
Angry, the guard reached down and wrapped his hand around the assassins throat. Pulling him up as if he weighed nothing, the man watched as the drow fought for breath. Slamming him back into the wall he turned to the other stoney faced guards. "You two, go search for the woman. We'll take him up to Damian and the elders."
About twenty minutes previous the torture master had swept into the elders home, out of breath and with a dangerous glint in his eye. After swiftly explaining the situation, another group of guards had been dispatched to the prison catacombs to deal with the threat and once again subdue the prisoner. Here was the prisoner....but where was the threat?
Sheathing his weapon, the guard switched his grip from the drows throat to his upper arm, motioning for the second to do the same. To weak to resist, Fallen let his head fall to his chest as he carefully slipping the dagger into the waist of his pants. As they quickly and literally dragged him towards the exit, the other two set off in search of the woman.

"i promise, however if i can get both of you....i will." she breathed heavy as she ran.
Ashen, though tired ran slightly faster then Kilindyl. She could hear the Clinging of armor ahead. she unsheathed her bow reading an arrow. "prepare yourself Lin," she huffed as she ran, picking up speed.
Ashen aimed as she ran, as the guards turned the corner. they turned shocked to see the very woman they where looking for. quickly she took her shot, the guard raising his arm having her arrow pierce his arm, instead of his head. "damn it!" she yelled quickly dropping her bow grabbing her ax, and throwing knife. Her target switching as the closest guard turned his attention to her. "stop right there!" he shouted, raising a shield almost as big as him toward her. her ax makeing contact with the tempered metal, causing sparks to fly.
in her stagger, the second guard riased his weapon beside her. she looked up at him, realizing her error. she left herself open completely for a side attack! just as the blade was about to make contact with ashen, Closing her eyes bracing for impact. the sound of metal clashing, opened her eyes. Looking once more, Kilindyl had parried the second guards attack. taking her chance she throw her ax at the second guard, lodging it in his neck. the first guard noticing his Ally's death. raised his shield from the ground and rammed ashen hard against the wall. Blood sprayed from her mouth as she collided with the stone. if her left arm wasnt broken before, it was now. she could feel her arm tingle and burn as the bones must have splintered in her arm.
Kilindyl took his opportunity, following ashens previous attack and wedging his dagger in the throat of the guard before he turned around. Ashen held her arm as pain became plain on her face. Cursing in Kintu, she shook the daze given to her by the guard as she studied her arm. "great..." she muttered. using the wall and with heavy breath she pulled herself up. she walked over to the guard with her ax ripping it out from his neck. bracing her arm against the wall. she used the length of her ax to straightened her arm. then quickly she put force by it. Bones grinding back into place rang in ashens ear and she growled in pain. using the pain like she did before she began to run again down the hall the guards came from. "come on lin..."
Finally ashen turned the corner to where she left fallen, only to see her cloak. "NOOO!" she yelled running to her cloak, picking it up. her eyes wide with fear, as she looked around. "FALLEN!!!" she looked down the halls near by. "no no no shit shit shit!" she looked where Fallen had sat, noticing the Knife wasn't there, and drag marks lay on the floor.

The fight when quickly but with difficulty. Wrenching his knife from the mans neck with a spray of blood, he huffed a breath. He could feel the injury hampering him, stealing his breath and wanting to slow his movement. He wasn't going to let it, not until they had found Keth. Glancing over at Ashen he realized that she wasn't in much better shape.
Frowning when she attended to her probably broken arm he decided to say nothing. He couldn't help her and they couldn't stop now. They would just have to make due with what they had until they got Keth out. Nodded when she moved again, he followed.
Kilindyl didn't realize what had happened until the kinto screamed. They must have gotten him. Clenching his hands into fists he stepped past her, fiery eyes glaring down the opposite hall. Fresh blood dripped down the back of his jacket but he didn't care. He would kill them all. There was nothing stopping him now. They made a mistake keeping him alive.
"This way..." His voice was guff, angry as he set off down the narrow hall.
--- As the drow was dragged up the flight of stares he had to shut his eyes when the light of day filtering through the windows met them. If they had been sensitive before they were more so now after staying in the dark underground for months. He wouldn't have recognized the building had he been able to see it regardless. The soldiers had brought him up through a secret passage into the home of the elders.
The din of many voices and people moving met his ears and he cracked an eye to try and see what was happening. Through the tangled an dirty fringe of hair there were guards. In the halls mingled what must have been most of the guardsmen of the town. They quieted when they saw him for a moment only to speak up again in loud angry voices, blaming him for the recent deaths.
Shutting his eye once more, he hung his head wanting to be unconscious. After he had finally regained hope and a reason to live this happened. He prayed that Ashen found Lin, that they were safe...that they would.... Would they be able to rescue him? Or was it just as hopeless as the last couple months had been...
The noise quieted as they entered another room and the guards let go of him. Dropping to his kness, he let his shoulders slump and his head hang low. The voice that spoke next caused fear to cut through him.
"Looks like your friend didn't play my little game. To bad..." Damian stood from where he'd been seated at the meeting table to approach his prisoner. "What I'd like to know though, is how in the world did you manage to separate from her long enough to get caught?"
The man crouched before the drow, lifting his head by a handful of hair so he could see his face. "Still no answer? hm..."
Knowing that this was his chance, Fallen had slowly and painfully closed his hand around the dagger. As fast as he could and despite his injuries and his weak body the drow arced the blade towards the mans throat. Catching Damian completely by surprise, he barely moved out of the way in time. Unfortunately it had been enough through, for when the dagger hit, all it did was drag down the leather of the back of his heavy jacket, barely drawing blood as it nicked his skin.
Growling in anger, the man grabbed the drows wrist in an iron grip and painfully twisted it. Yelping, Fallen let the knife clatter from his already weak grasp as he set his squinting gaze on Damian.
"I'm going to make you regret that." The man growled as he kneed Fallen in the chest and caused him to topple to the ground. Still holding the drow by the wrist, Damian scooped the knife from the ground. He then slammed Fallens hand down before plunging the knife through it with enough force for the blade to sink into the wood floor boards. Crying out, Fallen was about to reach for the knife with his other hand before that one was caught in Damians iron grip as well. Frowning in anger, the man slammed fallens other arm to the ground and with a knife he drew from his inner jacket, he pinned that hand as well.
Listening to the drow gasp and whimper in pain, Damian finally stood back to casually lean on the meeting table. "The guards in the hall are under orders to injure your friend but then let her through." He growled, glaring down at the pinned drow. "And then I'm going to kill her in front of you."
"Calm down Damian, anger will get you no where." One of the elders was also seated at the end of the meeting table.
Glancing back at the man, Damian frowned before grumbling, "This is my favorite jacket."
Not hearing the grumbling, the elder continued focusing on his spell.
