After a long and trying day, Ashens Flesh still burned as the curse just began to recede. she ventured to the forest she was hiding out it in for the past two moons to clean up her mess.
finally arriving to her makeshift bed of dead leafs and tattered clothing she moved to the other side of her 'camp' if you could even call it that and there five bodies lay. a not formed in her throat as she looked at them. 'I am a beast...I killed...five innocent people....why, why are my people still so kind to me after what I did.' she questioned as she stacked the bodies on a thick branch 12 feet above ground.
once the bodies where loosely balanced and she retrieved her weapons Nabbi had hidden when she was in the forest surrounded by souls, she stood still concentrating on her form. her true form. her birthright. ashen felt her muscles tense and grow, move and shift. she let out a roar to the moon above as she body grew and Shifted to her Beast form. Eyes Slowly opening as the moon made her Jade eyes glow more. walking in shame she moved under the Branch the bodies where balanced. hitting the tree with her Massive form they feel balanced on top of her. letting out a grunt like growl, she used her wings to shift the bodies so they would stay.
once able she began her walk of shame home. 'at least Dreth can use the Souls. what the hell am I going to do with the bodies?' she quested in her mind. letting out low quite panther growls as she walked. after an hour of self scolding and punishment, her eyes met the image of the Silver Scale house. as she looked she kept her head low. she wasn't happy about what she did. she could even feel her tail drag on the ground. As she got Closer something "white' catch her eye turning her gaze to the direction of Pan'ti forest, her Giant Jade eyes locked on a now Familiar form of Dreth. Her tail lifted as did her head, even her wings perked up. Quickly she ran to the fence beside the gardens, letting the bodies fall of her and she shook them free.
'its time I let Dreth know the real me. he protected me today. they all did...its time I start being true to my people.' Ashen encouraged herself. Gods she felt like a kitten again. with fast legs she sprinted towards dDreth direction keeping low and to the bush.
finally she slowed as she got closer and Closer to him, until she stopped in a clearing about twenty feet away from Dreth. she was in plan view, he would be blind to not see her. wings neatly folded on her back, her silver runes on her fur shimmered in the moon light as the nights cool breeze swayed her fear to match the fresh new green grass. her heart began to beat quickly. it had been over 100 years sense she wanted to show someone her form willingly. 'what if..Dreth thought is was a disgrace like mother?' with that thought she became worried.

Drethiel had been walking back to the Silver Scale, when he heard nearby footsteps come to a halt, and turned in their direction. Upon seeing the tall, winged panther, he stared wide-eyed. For a moment, a sharp pain tore through his mind, like a splitting headache. He may have ditched his old body in the nick of time, but seeing as how he had stayed in it for so long... some form of "connection" had built up in it. As a result, the sight of a large, animalistic being brought thoughts of ravenous werewolves upon him. Panicking at first, he fumbled to form an iceball, but then stopped himself - the beast was lavender, with jade eyes. Ashen. So this is her true form? He looked her up and down, marveling at just how tall she really was in that form. Her wings, slightly damaged where they attached to her, confirmed that indeed it was the Silver Scale leader he knew. Smiling, he jumped up and flew over, landing softly in front of her. He reached up to pet her fur, which was pleasantly soft. "This is rather impressive, Ashen." He ran his fingers along the silver runes, watching how they shimmered in the light, and creating a light frost to enhance the glimmer. "Not to mention the runes..." His eyes followed them and studied them, attempting to decipher what they meant. It had been a long time since he was familiar with runes.
"My apologies if I looked startled earlier. I thought I was seeing things." He stated. Dreth paused for a moment then - he sensed something nearby - several things to be exact. It had been a long, long time since he felt the presence of fresh souls, and he barely resisted the urge to lick his lips. "Did you save your casualties for me, Ashen?" He looked up deviously into her eyes, and smirked. "How very kind. It'll do this miserable old body good." Rubbing his lower back as if almost on cue, he groaned. "Rook's body took this so much easier..." He grumbled under his breath and winced.

Ashen's paw rose defensively, was Dreth really going to attack her? was her true from really as disgusting as her mother foretold? Ashen wanted to run, far far away when suddenly Dreth was right in front of her. her heart was racing, was he going to freeze her? all her racing thoughts stopped as she felt his cold touch moving though her fur on her face. her muscles began to relax, a purr forcing its way out as he petted her. her ears perked up as she complemented her true form. 'so you...like? my true self?' as Dreth traced her runes she couldn't help but close her eyes and lean into his touch, her purr still growing from her body.
her eyes opened when he began to speak of the humans she brought home for him. she nodded when he asked if she brought them for him. letting out a slight noise as if to say "yes" however she didn't have her Human tongue anymore. only noises a panther would make could be heard from her in this form. she noticed Dreth rubbing his back suddenly. she moved herself to look behind him lightly nuzzling his back letting a low submissive growl, as if asking if he was injured.

Feeling the nuzzle of the panther on his back, Drethiel waved his hand as if to dismiss his pain. "It's nothing. This body was already achey when I moved into it. While this one does have it's drawbacks, I hope it will serve its purpose." He moved to Ashen's side, and leapt up, climbing onto her back with ease. Her plush fur made a comfortable place to sit, but he decided to lie down on his stomach, draping his hands briefly over her sides before running his hands through the lavender coat again. Hearing her purr was oddly relaxing, and he had to admit - his legs hadn't hurt this much in a long time. Rook's mother wasn't the most healthy woman around. In fact, she had always been frail, having a lightly plump layer of fat and minimal muscle mass. Many complications would arise from taking this woman's body, it seemed.
"Ashen, would you be terribly offended if I asked you to carry me back to the Silver Scale?" He asked her, an amused tone to his voice. "I'm not sure how much more walking these old bones can take today."

Ashen was slightly when Dreth climbed onto her back suddenly, but remained still to allow him on. it wasn't the first time someone was on her back, though It had been many many moons sense the last time. feeling his hands run though her fur, her purr grew louder. even stretching slightly into dreths hands. though her ears twitched to Dreths question. 'just how old was this body?' Ashen looked back at him, her jade eyes glowed in the moonlight and remained fierce like the mighty hunter she is. however reaching slightly she licked Dreth's hand. as a sign of 'of course Dreth, rest up' the proceeded to walk toward the Silver scale. Folding her wings as to not disturb Dreth but to stabilize him, encase he lost his balance. her muscles working to keep her back as still as possible, which was a rather easy feat for her.
she remembered in her room, she even had a Saddle that Mama Syanria would use. mind you, it was old and not taken care of. perhaps it was time to craft another one. Ashen couldn't help but let out slight growls as she always did when she walked in this form. it was a Panther territory thing, or so Synaria told her

Drethiel laughed a little when Ashen licked his hand, and appreciated the support she gave with her wings. Getting comfortable and listening to her rumbling growls, he watched Wildgard pass by in his vision. "Rook's mother, Lilith, was a plain, ordinary lady. Just a single mother, living alone in a quiet and peaceful village. Though her body is a good 37 years old, with it's share of injuries and issues, her soul was sweet with a sediment of ferocity." He stopped talking for a moment, remembering the Lilith he knew long ago.
"She was much like Rook when she was younger, but as she aged, she masked her vigor with a calm demeanor, and used it sparingly. By the time I had reached her and took her place in the body, she didn't know what hit her. I've the feeling she was ignorant to a lot of things in this world, actually..." Dreth let out a yawn, and then buried his face in Ashen's fur. "What I'm trying to say is, there's nothing all too special about this one. I chose her merely out of spite for Rook, and will admit it truthfully." As they approached home, Dreth could feel the ebb and flow of the souls even more prominently, and found himself swaying back and forth slightly in sync with the movement.

Ashen let out a slight Growl, not in aggression but one of acknowledgement. she was happy Dreth openly talked to her. even if he took the body out of spite, Ashen would have to make sure Dreth would take care of this body. Ashen could feel Dreth swaying with her walking, she streatched her wing slightly to tap dreth cheek. looking back her slight growl almost sounds like a laugh as she slowly looked forward again. they where a mere moment away from Ashen corpse pile. Ashen thought of Running the last bit of way, but Dreths body was already sore. she would have to save it for another time.
Both Ashen and Dreth arrived to where the five corpses lay. with one swipe of Ashens paw she pushed them flat on the ground. loosely they layed side by side now. slowly she lowered her body a few feet away from the corpses. moving so Dreth could just stand up as if he was on a taller chair. as she layed on her belly she could help but want to play, like her old self. she looked back to Dreth, hitting him with her tail on his leg, slightly. she watched him out of the corner of her eye. 'maybe he will be playful after he eats. gods when was the last time I felt this comfortable in my feral form' letting out a slight grunting like growl. if she was human this would be a sign of glad.

Upon arriving by the corpses, Drethiel gave Ashen a light pet on the wings as a token of thanks - for both the souls, and her formidable landing job. "My, my. Look at these fine specimens!" He exclaimed as he strolled towards the vessels. In his eyes, they radiated a soft and pleasant glow. Which... was odd. The inner light of a recently deceased body usually wasn't this strong and prominent. For a split second, he wondered if Ashen could see it too. Sensing was one thing. Seeing was another.
Yet, these bodies all certainly were the hosts of humans past. Some old, some young, and one seemingly unlikely victim who looked as if he could punch a hole through a wall with ease. Dreth's eyes trailed from each of them, studying not their limp limbs, but the pulsating waves of light and energy. It wasn't the fact that they were recently struck down, it wasn't the fact that they weren't anything but human - there was just something about this experience that felt so familiar, and so... welcoming. Nostalgic.
"This..." he spoke softly, his eyes never leaving the white glow amidst the corpses. Yes, this is how it used to be. In reality, there was nothing peculiar about this situation at all. The pulsing of a soul's dormant energy was a common sight for angels. In fact, it was the nature of things. Different wavelengths were not uncommon, but in fact a means of identification. If one could see the difference in wavelengths, then it was most likely that they could also see a slightly colored tint within the light.
The anticipation was killing him, and he wanted to begin the purification. "I wonder..." he continued quietly. There was an old method of collecting souls as an angel. Said method was a privilege that Dreth had lost long ago, but he saw no harm in attempting it for old time's sake. With one last glance at Ashen, he gave a sly smirk and began. Closing his eyes, he whispered a short prayer under his breath. The words felt foreign on his traitorous tongue, but he soon held out his hands, relaxed with palms facing upward. Immersed in his own concentration, and inaudible incantation, he curled the fingers on his right hand into a slow, gentle fist. Soon, he had done the same with the other. What he had expected to happen was to open his eyes to a foolish attempt, but upon opening his eyes, they widened and he nearly broke form.
In front of him, as if pulled inward lightly on strings, were the five souls, pulsing calmly. His mouth hung open and his brows knit in confusion, but he relied on his intuition and memory to keep his ceremony on the roll. Gulping once, he moved his hands rapidly outwards, then brought them back in around the group of souls, condensing them into a tight knit ball of light. What would seem bright to a passerby then grew brighter. Drethiel's pale blue eyes shimmered, and he smiled gleefully as the energy in front of him spiraled and spun, pushing out all negativity back into the world. At the end of the purification, the souls separated once more, shining brighter and cleaner than before. He looked up into the sky, towards the clouds and beyond. Would it work? He pondered. There was no guarantee that these individuals would reach the heavens safely - not while he was in exile. I came over here to keep them safe myself. Up above is no place for me. In that moment, he grasped the souls from behind, and brought his hands toward his chest, pushing them to his angelic core for safekeeping. Drethiel shivered, and let out a pleased sigh.
"It...worked. It really worked!" He turned to Ashen excitedly. "What I just did has not been performed on my behalf for centuries. Ashen, I don't know what this means." Dreth seemed giddy and befuddled and awestruck all at once. "Was my exile a temporary sentence? Or is this my doing?" He asked himself. Either way, this was a sure sign that Drethiel's power was returning to him at last, and he hoped he would see even more improvement in the near future.

Ashen layed comfortably and watched Dreth perform his ritual. beautiful light dancing in front of him, they where so dazzling ashen couldn't take her eyes off them. watching as he drew them together taking them into his form. she wondered if he truly didn't know what he was doing or if he did some how? as she stood he confirmed that he hadn't been able to do such a wonderful display in quite some time. Ashen pondered for a moment. she felt her lips curl in an attempted smile.
she took a few steps forward, her paws sounding very heavy on the ground. she stood before Drethiel, bow her head and placing her forehead on his chest, right above her heart. 'I think its because your helping others' she thought to herself. a low gentle purr grew from her once more and she rubbed her head gently on his shoulder. she remembered everyone that ever told her Drethiel was a bad person. what a strange thought to be having right now...
'im proud of your Dreth. if I could I would rub your good deeds in there faces. everyone loses there way sometimes. don't Worry, I promise to guild you.' sharing in Dreth's excitement she rose her head and licked his check. still purring as she rub her cheek against his. letting out a quite little roar, not loud almost as if she where saying "good job" to Dreth, or "im proud" she wished she could speak in this form. she felt most comfortable in this state, but she was misunderstood.
she would have to transform soon...

Drethiel laughed quietly and ran his hands through Ashen's fur, feeling a burst of happiness and satisfaction hit him from the reaping of souls. When she licked his cheek a high pitched sound came out of him, and he was taken aback from the shrill voice the body had produced. Nevertheless, he continued talking as if nothing happened.
"My thanks to you, Ashen. I hope we can continue this kind of arrangement. Perhaps..." He thought aloud. "...perhaps in due time, human souls won't be my limit." His smile widened, with a touch of manic desire.

a low satisfied growl came from ashen as she gently pushed Drethiel, she kept pushing him gently letting out soft purrs. after a while he lost his footing landing on his bottom. with her weight she laid her head on his chest gently, being carful not to crush him and enable him to continue breathing. gazing at him playfully with her Jade eyes. her tail whipping back and forth playfully. she licked his cheek again and letting out a very loud purr. 'maybe purrhaps you can save me one day? we are friends after all.' she questioned in her mind and she looked at him intently, letting out panther like sighs of happiness.
suddenly feeling something on her side, she rolled off of dreth, after turning once fully. as she landed on her back, she looked back at dreth. all four paws dangling in the air, looking at him upside down and curiously, her tail still whipping playfully. a playful grunt came from Ashen as she sprawled out her wings the cool grass, exposing her belly to him.
feral cats only did this to show submission to an aggressive member in a pride, or to play. she was so happy she actually felt playful! she was scolded so many times so showing this type of behaviour, but however she knew she could show it to dreth. 'the worst he can do to me is freeze me' she encouraged.

"Woah, there!" Dreth exclaimed shakily as he fell to the ground. His eyes were wide, not with fear, but with confusion. This was a side of Ashen that... quite frankly, he didn't know existed. As she rolled around like a cheerful kitten, he found it hard to imagine that this same being was the one that would readily kill when effected by her curses.
He sat up and smirked, though still a bit dumbfounded, and sent a layer of frost shivering up over her belly. Perhaps a break like this wasn't too bad at all, however human of him it may have been to indulge in something so tame and carefree.

As the frost went up her belly ashen couldn't but let out a whining type growl, squirming and twitching almost as if she was running, which was impossible due to the fact of still laying on her back. after a moment of pointless squirming she flopped back to an upright position and stood, shacking the chill off. she looked over at drethiel in a playful glare, sneaking down low to the ground she moved her body behind him. as she sat right behind him, bracing her front legs on either side of him she completely covered him with her wings so he couldn't escape. moving one paws to his stomach and holding him she began to nuzzle the top of his head and back, making purring chuffing noises. aiming to mess up his cloak and hair. 'come Dreth, I haven't played in years! im in a playful mood for once and Allynn isn't here! i cant wait till I learn how to talk in this form, words are so much easier!!!!' she thought to herself.
(ooc chuffing is a regular sharp puffing sound. a quick snort like puffing sound feral cats make when playing, ooc- encase you didn't know.)
