Ashen entered the tavern, tired and frustrated to all he hells with her luck In hunting this season, she needed money, food and supplies for her clan. She being the only able body to do so as well.
Her features where drawn out from fatigue and hunger. She went to the bar, a place where she normally say when she didn't want to be bothered. Sighing she looked around, where was the barkeep?

It had been a quiet winter for Thoror, which was odd. Perhaps he had scheduled himself for all the right shifts, or maybe things were genuinely calm, but he had witnessed few things within the walls of the tavern as of late. Idly he walked along the counter, taking wide steps from one stepping stool to the next placed for both his and his employees' convenience. He set clean coasters on the counter and reclaimed used mugs as he walked, humming quietly along to the music coming from the minstrel in the far corner.
The door opened and a chime sounded as someone entered the bar. Thoror turned to see it was the woman who had visited him a few days back. Ashen was her name, she bore black marks around her face when he first saw her that day, and was compromised, to say the least. She looked tired today, but still better. The Dwarf approached the woman, still behind the counter and greeted her.
"Hello, friend. Are you well tonight?"

" I am...here, Thoror. For now, at least." She claimed as she placed her head on her hand, resting on the counter. "I'll take the cheapest thing you have." Looking up to meet his gaze. She was very troubled. Things where very, very tight at home.
"Hunting hasn't been well lately" she brought up, to hopefully spark conversation. Maybe even get some intel on a good hunting spot.

"You sound troubled." Said Thoror, aware that he was stating the obvious. "A man ordered and passed out drunk, you can have his meal if you don't mind pork. He'll have forgotten about it when he wakes up, no need to worry." The Dwarf slid a plate down the counter to Ashen, it was a cut of pork with carrots on the side.
"Hunting's no good?" He asked, "Might be the settlers, if you were hunting in Pan'do. I know one of my suppliers had to relocate because of them." The Dwarf chuckled and set down a coaster for the woman. He raised a stein and gestured at the tap, asking wordlessly if she wanted a drink.

"ya it might be and i have been hunting everywhere" as she looked down at the food her mouth began to water right away. the smell was delicious to her nose. "are you sure he wont mind? ill admit i haven't eaten in a while. i will happily take it." she looked back at Thoror, making sure she had all permission to do with the dish as she pleased.
her stomach growled loudly as she held her stomach. just wait a minute more she thought to herself.
"so even your suppliers have been affected. damn this makes things harder for my clan, not to forget dangerous. my home lays in pan'do" she frown slightly she was indeed troubled. only good news she has had in days was the chance of a free meal.

Thoror chuckled. "He's out cold in a room upstairs, I'll make him breakfast when he wakes and he'll be happy. Go, eat." He went ahead and poured her a drink. She looked like she needed it. It was a light ale, a sweet brew he learned from a plucky Hobbit who liked his alcohol mild. The tap always left a foam on top no matter how he poured it, or which ale it was. The Dwarf casually puffed at the bubbles. They expanded with his breath and floated around, leaving a pleasant smell when they popped. Wonderful people, Those hobbits.
"You live in Pan'do?" Thoror asked, becoming slightly worried. "You are right about it's danger. Catan has claimed territory along the outskirts, and some of the forest itself. I would advise you and all you live with to be mindful of those people, for they are not always partial to peaceful solutions."

After making sure it was ok, she began to dig into the meal quickly. Ashen was somewhat known for her thirst and her appetite least by her people. it was one of the best meals she has had in a long time. she nodded when Thoror confirmed she lived in pan'do. Swallowing the bites she took, she meet his gaze when she heard someone 'claiming' the forests. this made her chuckle.
"one cant claim the forests, the forests, the wilds are what truly claim themselves." she smiled a cheeky smile. "but i do thank you for your concern, and i as well as my people are very mindful of others. thank you, for your concern, advice, and this delicious food. it was much needed. i don't have much coin anymore but your welcome to have it." she hate to admit it but her coin purse was a little low. she had been selling her belongings to get supplies, herbal medicine, bandages and food for her people. she had saved enough for what she thought for the winter, however three unexpected additions was something she didn't foresee nor prepare for.

"If Kings and Emperors thought that way, we would have few problems." Muttered the Dwarf. "Keep your coin. You're obviously struggling right now. I wouldn't want to starve you after giving you a meal." He smiled warmly and stepped down from the stool he was on. Thoror was generous with his charity lately, giving meals and shelter to any he knew were in need. It would be expensive practice for most business owners, but Thoror had other assets to bring in money.

"you wouldn't be the one starving me, my young and injured Clan would" she laughed as she jested, even it was truth. as she finished her meal she rested her chin on the counter happy to finally be full for the first time in days. so many meals she gave up to feed the little ones at home. tonight would have been no different if it wasn't for Thoror's generosity.
having this thought Ashen began to feel somewhat guilty that she had gotten a free meal. "is there anything i can do to repay the meal Thoror? i do feel bad i didn't earn my keep." if it was one thing her father thought her in the four years she knew him it was earn your keep. if she didn't do that, nothing ever sat right with her. she hoped Thoror maybe had a job she could do.
raising her chin from the counter she looked at him curiously, her feline eyes looking around for any job she could deem worth enough to do. but besides from lack of staff there wasn't much to be done. Thoror always managed the place very well. "im here almost every night there's got to be something i can do for you to repay your well thanked generosity"

Thoror pondered Ashen's words while ducking under the bar to grab two empty bottles that needed refilling. She sounded like she was most definitely in a bind.
"I understand that feeling, friend." He smiled gently while examining the glass cylinders, clinking them together idly. And here he thought very hard about his next decision. He could hire her, give her a job as maybe a cook. She would repay what she took with service, and hold no guilt for receiving aid. However, Ashen had 'issues,' as discovered a few nights ago when she was guided into his haven, a mental mess. She bore a weapon and an attitude that said she'd use it fast if provoked. When black marks showed on her cheeks, she was crazy. He had to think about the risks of letting such an individual work for him.
But then again, he had to think about the risks of himself running a bar.
"...Do you perhaps know how to cook?"

"Aye I do, I hunt, cook, clean and attend to many of my clan very day, and I'm not afraid of hard work." Ashen claimed with a smile.
Normally people would make her wait to fulfill her debt to them but from the sounds of things Thoror may have a job for her to do right away, and with a belly full she now certainly had the energy to do so.
"I can do anything you want me to around the tavern, just name it. It's the least I can do for the meal."

From amidst the noise of the tavern came shouts all of a sudden, wild cackling breaking them, then more shouting. The far corner of the Tavern quieted down as a drunken figure, slender but with an odd potbelly quite cartoonishly placed on his body ambled towards the counter. He covered himself with a cream-colored shirt and brown overalls, and wore ratty boots up to his knees. He was pale of face with rosy-red cheeks and nose, lacking hair on his head but grew plenty to spare on his arms and knuckles. When he reached the cpunter, he propped his head on his elbows and stared lovingly at the bartender. The quiet corner resumed their usual noise.
"Hey there pretty lady~" He said, gawking at the Dwarf. The man belched before continuing. "Looks like you've got yerself a nice boy-friend over there, mind if I meet him?"
He giggled madly, then stopped, then started giggling again.

"Anything, hmm?" Asked Thoror. "I could use another cook. We're short-staffed in the kitchen. The two wizards in there can work miracles but it's not fast enough on busy weekends."
Suddenly they were interrupted by a laughing drunk, seemingly interested in Thoror. This was Aalen, a regular on Woden's day. He would come in to feed his addiction to the point of nearly passing out, but always wandered home when someone kicked him out.
"Get rid of that one." The Dwarf told Ashen. "Do it without starting a fight and you're hired. Consider this your entrance exam."

Ashen was puzzled on how to handle this, she wasn't very good at handling other people around or above her age group. But she didn't want to repay Thoror, and if he wanted this one out that was what she was going to do.
"Hello sir, I think you have had enough for tonight, how about I escort you out. Are you able to find your home by yourself? I am willing to guild you home if you tell me where it is located" ashen kept herself calm as she talked she stood and moved herself beside the drunken man.
She has had enough practice dealing with drunken people before, to roaming hands and the smell was nothing new.
She stood beside him waiting for him to be either cooperative or hostile, which in anyway case she would simply pick him up and take him outside, if she could carry Freyab, Allynn and Lucas at once she could carry a drunken man.

"Guild? Waddya mean guild?" The man sputtered out, looking vacant and sleepy. "Oh, you mean build! I'm build a friendshepp wiff dish here pretty lady, do you want t' build a friend with me too?" The drunk pointed a finger at Thoror and grinned ear to ear. It was like a child's grin, hideously misplaced on an old drunken man and almost unnerving.
"What's an escort? Is it some kind of snail?" He continued. "I don't like snailss, gimme another drink." Aalen leaned far onto the counter, his hands draping over the other side of it. He idly blew a raspberry and chuckled.
