The cat tilted her head slightly as she traveled up the road, almost at a bouncing step. She walked quickly, and silently as to not raise attention to her presence. Helen had spent most of her time on this journey in her cat form, most did not take kindly to her blue hair in human form, and her dragon from wasn't exactly inconspicuous. So she traveled as a black, brown and white spotted cat, sneaking past peoples shadows.

As the Nord man stumbled through the thick snow of the land, he looked around for any signs of movement. The oncoming storm was drawing nearer and nearer, and the poor old sap just wanted another drink to sate his thirst, for the more sober he became, the less conscious he did too. Perhaps some food wasn't such a bad idea either. Lukis fiddled with the silver and blue ring on his middle finger as he thought: Perhaps when he returned from out of this storm to the city he'd cook something up. Maybe the pirates were up for some more of his Nordic barnacle stew, or maybe the patrons of the Wild Knight's Inn felt like having some roasted cattle.
A snowflake flew into his eye, but quickly evaporated. Sometimes being half fire giant had its advantages beside being damn near impossible to kill. As he blinked to get the tears out of his vision, he noticed a small, dark thing moving in the snowy wind.
"What is that?" He wondered aloud, drawing his chef's knife and butcher's cleaver from his belt and heading over to where he'd seen the thing.

Helen sharpened. Her cats tail raised high in alarm and hair standing on end. This wasn't the first time someone had come at her with a knife; she tried to hiss but the snow filled wind carried it away before it reached the large man in front of her. She knew she wasn't going to be able to get away fast in this snow, and her dragon form would not be able to fly in these winds. There was no other choice. Helen changed into a woman, with long blue hair. She wore a long sleeved black dress to the knee and emerald pants. There was a knife in her hands, and the yellow eyes of her ancestors pierced through the snow. Helen crouched down, ready to attack.

A sudden gust of wind blew in front of Lukis' eyes, and even though he was part fire giant, it took time for him to regain his vision in his old age. After but a simple moment, he could once again see in front of his own eyes...but the dark and small thing had disappeared, replaced by a beautiful, blue-haired woman with a knife in her hand. Now, Lukis at this point knew he wasn't drunk, so either he had come across a shapeshifter in this storm, or he had been cursed, both of which were very plausible...frighteningly enough.
Lukis saw the anger--no, not anger...fear--in her face, drawing his eyes back down to his own weapons. Realizing his fault, he simply threw his arms up and let his fingers go around the hilts, sending them flying backwards into the snow.
"Sorry." He commented in a thick Nordic accent. "I didn't mean to scare you. I'd offer a drink, had I any with me." He leaned in close, potentially sharing his extreme body heat to warm her. "Now what are you doing out here with such a storm on the way?"

The strange large man leaned in closer. Helen recoiled. Plenty of men had 'not meant to scare her' or 'offered her a drink', and it rarely ended well... for them. The man smelt very strongly like alcohol, almost to the point that Helen passed out. She silently cursed her acute senses, though more often she thanked them. She did not lower her weapon, as she was sure that the man was at a higher physical advantage.
Helen raised her eyes up to the man's, trying to look as menacing as possible. "I am traveling to the land of Wildgard." Her tone was sharp as a dagger cutting through flesh, blue hair blowing in the snowy wind.

Lukis smiled: it seemed most people travelling within these parts were looking for Wildgard, and yet few found comfort in the ruin of a town. Still, Lukis had no intention of stopping her, and he simply smiled to the dagger-wielding (both in tone of voice and the actual blade in her hand) woman.
"Aye, Wildgard. Land of cold, cold, and cold, eye? If you'd like, I can take you there. Perhaps we'll share a mead at the Wild Knights Inn then?" He gestured, slightly put off by her scowling and discouraging look towards his drink.

The large man was obviously unthreatened by her, and he did not seem to be trying to kill her either. Her human appearance hadn't even fazed him, in so many other cultures Helen had been hunted. This man however looked incredibly hung over... unless he was acting, there was no danger her.
Still Helen wasn't one to trust so easily, but it was cold. She reached around her neck pulling a blue scarf from under her black dress and wrapped it around her twilight blue hair. She kept her dagger at the ready. "I will go with you, if only to escape this unbearable cold." She shivered, voice dropped to its original tone, light and feminine. Then she blinked twice, noticing her mistake she made her voice menacing again. "Do not cross me, I learned from the best knife fighters in the streets of Greece." Helen raised her blade again, if only to look intimidating to the large man in front of her.

As soon as her voice raised higher than it had been before, Lukis' eyebrows went up onto his forehead in surprise. Was she hiding something from him?
No, it didn't matter, especially since to her he was a strange old man whom she knew not, and she was already accompanying him back to Wildgard.
The Nord stretched his hand out again, still holding the bottle of alcohol, to resume his offer. "So, Greece?" He inquired. "You must be from elsewhere. I myself am from the northern lands of Scandinavia. I'm a Nord, so I know a bit about you Greeks."
That part was true: he'd studied the Greeks with his parents and had also visited the land in his travels, where he learned some of their more traditional practices, and some less traditional Greek studies, including ornate knife-wielding styles. Of course, he'd learned his own style from a caravan of thirteen dwarves on his travels through the east, but he still had respect for all styles of fighting, including the one this woman claimed to know.
Knowing that much, he would easily be able to defend himself were he to cross some sort of line and tick her off.

"I am from the great fallen land of Babylon," Helen offered. "I spent many years in Greece though, it was a good place for a cat to live." Her voice again slipped out of its intimidation again, into a light airy tone. She caught herself, trying yet again to scare the Nord infront of her, "you should be fearful of me."
She started forward, blade still in her hand. Then suddenly she realized she did not in fact know were she was going. "Um... you have to lead the way." She tried to sound as authoritative as possible. It was true that she was hundreds of years old, but her mental development was that of a teenager or young adult.

With her voice fluctuating between soft and hard, Lukis had a hard time believing that this woman was necessarily the thug she played at. Still, he knew that he shouldn't mess with anyone claiming to be from the fallen land of Babylon. Not even he had ever been, although he'd researched it many times in his youth. That would mean that this woman--no, this girl?--was older than even he (no great feat, as many of a different race reach far past the age of 53).
The woman suddenly slowed her pace and told Lukis to lead--of course, she wouldn't want to get lost. After all, Lukis was the one leading her.
The Nord bowed in acknowledgement and began trudging through the snow, the girl following behind him.
"Fearful of you?" He snickered. "I'll admit, I do feel threatened with a girl like you holding a knife to my back. But fearful, not quite. With much respect, though, I say this."
As if to frighten the girl, Lukis stepped into a giant mound of snow, only to have it melt around him instantly. Yup, being part fire giant certainly had its advantages.
"Try a bigger knife. And maybe some battle paint. Aye, now that'll make you seem like a true nightmare." He said as helpfully as possible.
