Snow was drifting across the deck, swirling and shifting in patterns that made the vessel looked as though it breathed. A thin layer of frost and soft snow covered the wood panels, and muffled the sounds of the entire world. The pirates had gone to bed to the sound of waves and the sea, and woken to the soft slumber of winter. There had been no blizzard, no winds, not a sound as slowly the wood was burdened with the heavy weight of the cold once more. Now the only thing that disturbed the white expanse was a set of footprints, and the swooping line that followed them. At the edge of the ship, peering out into the chilly grey blanket that had suddenly settled in the sky, was a flare of bright yellow, broken up by black leather, grey fur, and a pink tail. Shovel over his shoulder, and yellow scarf wrapped around his head, the skirit was looking out over the waters. Almost as though he expected them to freeze and shatter before his eyes.
A soft white cloud marked Bucket's quiet sigh, as he lowered his head and slowly began to clear the huge expanse of white that sat nestled on the Dame de la Profondeur.

Kitty walked out onto the snow covered deck of the ship. She hated the snow, hated the cold. Kitty was wearing Buckets scarf her hat and wrapped in a blanket. She leaned against the frame of the door. "Don't you just hate the cold Bucket?" She questioned. Kitty's face was still red and her shirt had a few tear stains left from crying from finding out about her family. The impact on her was harsh. She promised herself she'd try and be 'nicer' to everyone around her... Before letting out a sigh as well se extended her hand to try and catch one of the small falling snow flakes.

Right behind Kitty, was Possum, He too was curious about the snow, was it bad? Were they going to starve to death? Where was Captain? There were alot of Questions that needed to be answered. The three of them Stuck together though, it was hard on the Crew. 'When one of us Hurts, all of us Hurt.' He thought, making a mental note to write that down in his book, Ever-the-Bard, He might be able to turn that line into a Pretty Decent Poem later, but right now... He couldn't let Bucket do all the Cleaning alone. Not now.
He Tightened his royal blue scarf around his neck and pulled his bandanna down a little farther, stepping out onto the ship. "If we're not careful all the Pulleys and knots will freeze, or rust... whatever the case." He tried to sound knowledgeable about the Ship, the Sea and the Life of a Pirate. But honestly he just loved the Crew. He was pretty useless otherwise...
Picking up an old Push broom he wandered to the far side of the Deck, lazily pushing the wispy snow.

Bucket was about to reply to Kitty when he saw Possum lazily take up a broom in aid. With a twitch of his good ear, he paused in his cleaning. "Uhh, you should get a shovel for that, and, um... be careful. We need to scrape up the frost before it turns to ice..." His high voice was slightly tinged with concern. He tried to stay adamant about keeping the deck clear, because ice on the ship was one of the worst hazards he could think of. Turning back to Kitty, he replied, "Well, I don't know... I just miss being on the water. It's the ice I don't like, it freezes us and we can't sail. The ice is the worst part of winter." Again he glanced out to the sea before taking up his shovel with his regular and repetitive motion. As soon as he finished speaking, the blanket of cold silence threatened to stifle the trio. He thought in the silence for a moment, then asked, "Why is Captain still in Wildgard? When is she going to b back?"

Prancing about like the merry drunk he was, Lukis stepped up from the lower level of the ship and began kicking the snow happily, accidently but not regretfully landing some in the face of his new crewmates. The Nord had come a long way from Scandinavia, and hadn't seen snow in years, so to finally see the lovely white powder dusting the rims of the ship and the frost encasing the edges of the flag was truly a winter miracle.
"Isn't it fantastic, everyone?!" He cried out gleefully as he spun about like a ballerina. "Snow, snow, everywhere!" He then stopped, noticing that he was disturbing what seemed to be a poop-deck-swabbing session, and grinned sheepishly at Bucket, Kitty, and Possum.
"My bad." He commented before leaning against the snow-covered rail. "Guess I'm not drunk enough to know right from fun."
A sudden thought crossed his mind: maybe he did need to be more drunk. He hadn't seen snow in years, and the last time he did was more than likely quite tipsy, so to not have enough alcohol in his system to truly admire the weather was a sin in itself. Wiping his greasy hair back and leaning forwards, Lukis stared at Kitty intently.
"Does this ship have any mead?"

Kitty was startled by Possum who happened to be behind her. She jumped a little but calmed down quickly. She tried to smile but it quickly went away as Lukis was kicking around the snow. "Hey watch it!" She spat as she brushed of the snow. "I'm not in the mood for anything. I hate the snow please. Keep it on the ground." Kitty whispered before glaring at Lukis. Kitty began to walk over to the edge of the ship but slipped on a sheet of ice falling on her butt. Letting out a painful whimper she sat up rubbing the back of your head. "Not. Again." She muttered to herself.

Possum waved a hand absent mindedly at Bucket's advise, "Yeah yeah.." He muttered, under his breath. It seemed as though the Crew was crumbling without the Captain, but there was little that could be done. The Last time the crew wandered off to Wildgard in the winter it was hard on all of them. Puppy betrayed them and joined another crew, and every time they go and put their noses in Wildgard Business something awful happened. The Possum looked over his shoulder at Bucket's poor ears, mangled and torn.
He began to push the light loose snow to the edges of the ship almost ignoring Lukis altogether, except for his comment about the Mead. "Luk, If you're wanting something to warm your stomach, I think Twitch had something cooked earlier, I bet it's cold by now, but... there might be some sort of Alchohol left to wet your throat." He pushed a bunch of snow into a pile and opened his mouth to say something else when kitty slipped and fell. "Kitty!" He blurted, thumping his cold leather boots over to her side, offering a hand up.

Hearing Kitty fall, the skirit immediately looked over and rushed to her side. He stood on the other side of her as Possum and took her other hand to help her up. "Are you okay?" he asked. Bucket's whiskers were quivering, and his ears twitched off the snow that was falling on them. When Kitty was on her feet again, he sheepishly reached up and adjusted the plain yellow scarf that protected his ears. It was a large, stretchy scarf, so it covered them easily, but tended to slip. His favourite scarf was instead around Kitty's neck.
Slinging the shovel over his shoulder, he gave her a small smile. "Maybe both you and Lukis could go find Twitch. He'd probably fix up some Kye for us."

Kitty grabbed Possums hand and Buckets and stood up. "I don't want to see Twitch... Not in the mood." She looked down at the ground before she dusted herself off and picked up her blanket again. Making her way o the edge of the ship where she intended to go in the first place. She let out a loud sigh before she rested her head in her hand. "I came out here for air. Not to slip and fall on my ass." Kitty didn't want to be outside but it was the only place that she knew Twitch wouldn't be. The last time she was hanging around him she made a fool of herself and of course Possum had to come in and mess up everything.

Possum Smiled watching Kitty move on her own to the edge of the ship, Trying to hold back a bit of a chuckle at the wrong moment. He felt terrible, but there was nothing he could do. He wasn't that great at cheering people up, recently. Especially his crew mates. 'I wonder why she doesn't want to see Twitch. I thought she liked him... They were getting along great until I came along- Oh... Right.' He hung his head. 'I didn't mean to upset her, I just... I like Erin. and Besides, What would captain say if she knew we were fighting over the Ship's cook. As far as I know he doesn't Fancy either of us.' He sighed Heavily walking over to Kitty's side.
"Well, Aside from Being alone with your Sorrows and hurting yourself - or Others. Is... there anything we can do?" He scratched behind one ear and gave her a sad, sympathetic look, He wanted to be a friend. Aside from Captain and Bucket, he'd never really had friends, and they were more coworkers than Friends. Kitty never really liked him and that made him sad. "I Could sing, or Dance. I'm not really good at Singing or Dancing... but... I could tell a Story or two. If you're interested."

Lukis looked over at Possum and smiled giddily at his suggestion: all this snow AND a story made this one of the most wonderful days he'd had in a while. The only things that could make it better were some sailing, warm mead, and his dog at his side once more. No matter, he'd go to the Fortress in the coming days.
"Aye!" He cried out. "I'd like to hear a story from you! How about one about a Daisy named Melissa Turnwater? Or maybe we insert ourselves into a story? Now that'd be fun!"
The drunk looked around and saw the tension in all their faces at the mention of the name Twitch. As he was still a new member of the crew, albeit a fun one, there was much he didn't know. He knew Twitch was the cook, nothing more than that though. With a raised eyebrow and the clearing of his throat, Lukis stepped forwards.
"I'm sorry, but I didn't miss anything, did I?"

Eyes flicking back and forth between the bard and the now-somewhat-snowy feline, Bucket was at a loss for words. He didn't really understand what was up much more than Luis did. However, what he had gathered is that not all things are to be pried into. Since coming back to the ship, he'd been a little better at being aware of more sensitive matters. Since now he had some sensitive matters of his own... As he scratched at his bad ear, he flashed Lukis a sharp look to try and keep him silent. Speaking up, he pushed for a better topic.
"Stories seem like an idea, actually. Possum... uhh, what was that one you started to tell a while ago? You were interrupted, but I remember it was about somewhere warm." he shivered, as he stepped back over to where he'd last been shoveling. Bucket looked back at Possum, flashing a wide toothy grin across his muzzle, making his whiskers jump up and quiver in the air. "...even just some made up warmth would still be great."
