'Aha! Perfect.'
Aalis was standing in a small clearing, eyeing up a crooked tree who's roots were lifted above the ground on one side. It created a very small cavern, which was nearly entirely filled with leaves. It was teeny, and would barely have been able to fit a fox, even if it wasn't blocked off by the fallen foliage. Yet she smiled, as it would suit her just fine. Quietly, she strode over to the tree and knelt down, and undid her satchel from around her waist. She began clearing out the leaves with her hands, though careful in case she was mistaken about the spot already being taken. Once it was cleared, she took a small tool from her satchel that would help digging through the hardened ground a bit easier. It took some time, but eventually she had managed to clear a decent sized cavern underneath the tree, with a dug out at the back that would fit her satchel.
Wiping her hands together to clear them of dirt, she stood up to eye up her work. 'Not the best home I've made myself, but it'll do. After all, I only need a few days.' Then, she unwrapped the scarf from around her head that held the lavender silk fabric in place. She rolled up the light material and tied it around a low hanging branch. It was a marker. Though, it held little purpose now... Before, it had been a system for Aalis to signal to Guile where her small encampment had been set up, since she never let him be nearby while she shifted. She'd never shaken the habit since, as a part of her always hoped he'd see it.
With a sigh, she dropped to her knees again at the base of the oak. She dragged her satchel in front of her and put her hood up. Hunched over, she blocked off both the wind and any prying eyes. 'Now... the hard part. Let's just hope I'm as alone as I think I am...' In order to change into her full feline shift, she need to undress and put away her belongings first. But when trying to keep the fact that she's kinto a secret, and without a proper place to stay, it was difficult. Quickly, she took off all her jewelry and scarves first, and slipped it all into the bag before moving onto her boots, boot covers, and the rest of her outfit. Each item was packed away into the bag with speed and dexterity, until she was in her white blouse, the lowest layer of her skirts, and the thin slip underneath them..
Shivers wracked her body now as the wind found its way around her cloak and to her exposed skin. She glanced over her shoulder, her nerves getting to her by this point. Once her belongings were safe in her satchel, she could stash them away and shift, leaving only her cloak to deal with and make into a bed while in cat full shift. Her fingers fumbling and ears twitching nervously, Aalis tried her best to hurry along.

'Oh? What's this...' Gil stopped, bobbing wildly until he was Perched on the end of a long rickety, leafless branch. His tiny paws clinging to the bark. Beady eyes fixed on the Kinto entering the forest. She'd interrupted his train of thought, which consisted of the exact same thing it always did at this time of day. His favorite Game. He didn't have a name for it yet, because he never had the need to. Anyone could play it, all shapes and sizes, didn't matter. All you had to do was race. Well not only race. The Rules that he made up specifically stated 'get from point A to Point B the fastest most aerodynamic way possible.' Bragging rights went to the person who got the most air, the best moves, tricks, or notable dodges in the meantime. He Preferred the form of a small flying Squirrel. They were statistically the best at it. Theoretically speaking of course, he'd never asked anyone to play with him. even the Animals knew he was different, No matter which form he took, he always had those eerie Yellow eyes, and that pesky patch over his left eye. made it hard to Masquerade with any sense of stealth if he were the center of attention.
Although, attention was all he wanted. He peered down at the woman, wondering if she'd be any good at racing. Or better yet, Wondering if she had any food to spare. The Real Squirrels in the Area were preparing for Winter and he'd failed at wrestling them out of any nuts they had. He Chirped, only once at first, and then several more times loudly. She seemed preoccupied, And Gil frowned, puffing up his cheeks and exposing his chopping buckteeth. 'No one stops to Smell the flowers any more. Let alone stop to see why the critters are SCREAMING THEIR HEADS OFF AT PASSERSBY!' He scrambled down the tree, trying to get her attention, Stopping several feet away on the forest floor. 'Come to think of it, no ones pays the Squirrels any mind. Not even me.' He watched as the Woman took a liking to a strangely warped tree. Beginning to dig at the base of it. Was this a strange human game, that the ladies played by themselves? He pondered. 'Well, Let's see how the game is played, before I jump in, Shall I?'
'Alright so Pick a tree, you dig a hole, tie a colored cloth and...oh.' He grinned, Stifling a small Squirrel snicker. 'Heh, not the game for me!' He smirked, running back up the tree and transforming into a Crow, He called a little louder, cawing at her for so much as a glance.

The loud crow startled her, and he snatched her cloak around herself as she looked up. The creature had eerie yellow eyes, and the area around it's left eyes was not shiny and tinted blue like the rest. With narrowed eyes, she glared at it. Aalis was unsure as to whether it was merely a bird, or if it was more, such as a kinto, a familiar, or changeling. Whatever the case, it was quite possible it was trying to draw the attention of one someone other than herself. Now she was extra careful to hide from its gaze, as she hunched back over. Finally she stowed away the last of her clothes into the satchel, and leaned in to shove it at the very back of the small cavern. When she righted, she wrapped the wool cloak around her and curled up into a ball, then closed her eyes.
One of the things hat was important was being concentration. And she couldn't do that if she wasn't calm. So she focused on slowing her breathing, and trying only to think about her shift. Rather than thinking about the shivered that racked through her, or the suspicious crow in the branches above. Slowly, she started the first step in changing; the easy part. Her human ears disappeared to be replaced by the larger cat ears above her head, her eyes gained their slits, and her tail grew from the base of her spine. There were subtle changes too, ones that few would notice unless they were pointed out. Opening and closing her mouth while her cat-like rough tongue brushed her now cleft upper lip, she smiled. 'This feels so much better.' she sighed to herself in relief. She hugged herself tighter, compressing herself into a smaller space. 'Now for full shift...'

The Crow watched with both curiosity and amusement. Clicking it's beak now and then, shuffling on the branch to keep himself warm.
'She doesn't suspect a thing...' He grinned, as close to grinning as crows could get. 'Wake up Kitty kitty, I Want to play. You can't sleep here...' He watched as her body took another shape, he shuffled his feathers with excitement. The wait seemed to drag on for ages, so he let himself take one more transformation. The Shape of a cat. Grey in color with the same eerie yellow eyes and black patch over the left eye, Jumping from branch to branch as before, he ended up on the ground, padding over to her. As she lay with her eyes closed, Gil settled on his stomach before her. Waiting for when she opened her eyes.

With quiet, steady breaths, she completed her shift. Her hands and feet shortened into paws, and her fur grew all across her body. For a moment she was fully fured, and still the size of a human. But she never knew how to hold this form willingly, so quickly the change was completed and she shrank down into the small form of a long-haired calico. The cloak had nothing but a small bump underneath it now, and it shifted as Aalis slowly uncurled her body, stood up, and stretched. She slid underneath the fabric to the edge, and peered out...
...directly into a pair of yellow eyes. She sprung back, still half underneath the cloak, and dug her claws into the frozen earth. She bared her fangs with a quiet hiss, and backed away. Wishing she could speak, a low growl was emitted from her throat. Aalis couldn't talk in her full-shift, though she could mimic some human words or sounds. Eyeing up the feline that had so suddenly appeared, she made the connection between it and the crow thanks to the eye patch. 'So it was a changeling... At least I'll know from now on thanks to that eye. What does he want though?'

Gil Laughed, though inwardly his heart skipped a beat and it was pounding now, but his little furred face remained calm and wondrously friendly. "I'm sorry Dear, Did I frighten you? I Just wanted to play..." He smiled. Tilting his head slightly, the end of his tail flickering. "You don't pay much attention to your surroundings do you?" He began to purr, the Woman however, was still trying to get her bearings.

Relaxing slightly, Aalis was still eyeing the stranger with her ears pinned back. She wished she could respond, as it frustrated her to be stuck in this form and not be able to speak. She backed away towards the tree, and then after a short pause, decided it was best to deal with her cloak and hope the changeling left her alone. Using her teeth, she grabbed at the edge of the cloak to pull it closer to her, and then used her front paws to claw at it and slowly drag it towards the space under the tree's roots. The material was heavy and stuff, making it rather difficult. Her tail swished back an forth in annoyance, and she let out a quiet yowl as she gave the cloak an extra big tug and it pulled uncomfortably on her claws. Turning her left paw over and flexing it, she saw that one of her claws was coming loose. She gnawed at it for a moment, trying to get the shard to fully come off, but it wouldn't. With a low growl, she went back to pulling at the cloak, though he relied more on her right than her left now.

Leaving the pup Behind at the Tavern, Once again Guile wandered off into the woods. Aalis wasn't in the Tavern, didn't get a room. That meant she was probably gone and moved on from Wildgard. Probably looking for him. And he had no idea where to start looking. It was taken her 3 years to find him, almost 4- The Last time they got separated. And there was likely no way to find her in the middle of Winter, the snowstorms alone would separate them far longer than a few years. Eternally if they were ill-prepared to leave town. Then maybe he'd find her in the afterlife, when all else failed. 'Nah, I can't be thinking like that, It's not over, not yet.'
Puffing up his chest fur, he nuzzled his thin snout in his fur and crossed his arms over his chest, He was fully Garbed, but the wind was still too chilly for this Desert Dog.
Ducking under a low-hanging branch, he wandered into the forest. his heart stopped and his breath caught in his chest, He heard it, plain as day. 'Aalis?!' Even after all these years he was familiar with that yowling. It had to be her, and she wasn't pleased. He hastened his steps and stumbled upon her, she wasn't alone. "HEY!" He called, catching a Glimpse of some Tom Cat, and Aalis with her ears flat back. Adrenaline rushed to his face, and the Heat of Jealousy warming his skin. "Back off!" A low rumble sounding in his chest.

Gil looked up at the sudden boom, "YIKES! Big Dog." He Arched his back and puffed up his tail. "Woah woah whaaa! Hang on WOAH!" he exclaimed, as the Jackal Kintu approached. Ears laid back and claws out. Gil began to warp and transfigure himself his shape grew and in seconds he was a large Wolf Kintu. Gil's Natural defense was a Chameleon effect. He changed to suit his surroundings, including that of Animal Species around him. He thought, if he changed into something familiar to his enemies he could blend in and get along. He turned to Guile with the image of a larger Jackal, An Alpha, baring his Teeth and puffing out his chest. Brilliant Yellow eyes beaming at the aggressor.

When Guile's voice boomed out over the clearing, it sent not just a few nearby birds straight into the sky. As per her feline instincts, Aalis' fur fluffed up, and her body went rigid. Jumping upwards, she landed a few feet to the side and facing the newcomer to the situation. She would have been embarrassed at how ridiculous her reaction was, if she wasn't entirely taken aback by who had just showed up. A quick furtive glance over at the material hanging from the branch refreshed and comforted her. 'I guess three years of keeping that habit wasn't the worst thing after all...' All four feet set firmly on the ground again, she shook the shock out of her head and skittered over to the side of the gnarled tree. Lowering herself closer to the ground, she realized she couldn't do anything about the confrontation. Without Aalis being able to speak, Guile was entirely off the leash when it came to defending her. Though, she couldn't help but think a little fondly of all the times he'd been way too protective before, and just how long it had been since.

Guile's skin was crawling with energy and his mismatched Kintu eyes fixed on the minuscule Cat, before he could get to the intruder he found himself snout-to-snout with a large Wolf with glowing yellow eyes. 'What?' He Snarled, he hated wolves, he hated Alphas. but right then, if he didn't force himself to be fierce he'd risk losing the Lady's Favor. And the right to dominate the situation. 'Canines!' He huffed, not paying any mind to the fact the Wolf had been a cat just seconds before. He squared his chest with the Wolf, larger than he, and bared his fangs, pulling back his ears Guile hoped it wouldn't come down to fighting. Though the Jackal within felt no fear, and traditionally took on foes four times his size. Snatching food right out of the lap of Lions... He feared he wouldn't contend.
