He Pushed some leaves with the end of his snout, The Jackal uncovered some cool moss and stuck the end of his nose on it. 'Gah, Stupid Squirrel, Aw that scratch is going to hurt for a long while....' He thought, whimpering. Only imagining what it would look like if he returned to human form, Cringing at the thought. 'I wasn't even anywhere near it, picking on me for no reason. Bah.' Jackal's tail was still curled under him quivering pathetically. He looked around, Seeming to be alone in the forest for now. His ears twitched this way and that. Listening to the Birds at dinner hour.
Jackal stood up, scoffing, His hook himself off with a pompous air about him, his tail swishing behind him. He wandered through the wood and stopped at Home tree. Looking up at it's large twisted branches, Withered but still strong. 'wait... I know where I am...' His tail jerked, and a long smile stretched across his snout. 'The Old Fox Den. Willow and I spent the Winter here Once. or Twice. I wonder if anyone's using it...' He pranced over and tip-toed in. The ground was cold and a cool breeze whistled through the holes left behind by the past Summer growth and Autumn withering. The already dried leaves crunching beneath his feet as he looked over the damages. 'Ah, I bet it could be repaired, doesn't look too bad, Especially if I Could transform back into human form I bet it would only take a few hours. A Day maybe...' He sniffed at the ground for a fresh scent and found some old stray furs woven into the leaves and branches. 'Nope, no one here... I wonder where Aalis is, or if that Cranky Cat would even stay here with me. She'd probably prefer the Inn..'

Fabrics created a soft rustling over the fallen leaves, as an elf lightly stepped though the forest paths. He had been sitting by the side of the Lomash plains, watching time pass and a few figures wander here and there through he land. Audivimus found it interesting that many roamed at all times of day and night, despite the fact that this land was much more dangerous than many he'd passed through. The elf had been watching Wildgard from a distance for a few weeks, wandering the edge of the Pan'Ti forest. However, colder winds were blowing now, so he retreated into the forest to find space to made a shelter. Hopefully, he'd find a decent tree he could use to hide himself away in the branches. He found it was more comfortable spending winters in the arms of a tree, up off the cold and hardened ground. His pace was somewhat slow, as he scanned the trees around him. His mouth was pulled into a frown as he studied how young they all were. None really held the wisdom and strength of an older tree's bark.
Then, Audivimus suddenly caught movement ahead and to his right. He froze in place, studying what it could be. It disappeared into a small bramble. He assumed it to be a fox, since it was about the right size. He continued walking then, much more silent than before. Only the faintest rustle could be heard and he carefully tread closer to the small den, wondering if he'd catch a better peek at the creature. It was a curious structure, that almost seemed to be made by a person by hand. Furrowing his brows, he paused again. 'A Kinto's den, maybe...?' he wondered to himself.

Examining the Fox Den damages, he nodded, 'Alright it's settled, I'll get it set up and give it a good few hours work and then i'll go find Aalis.' He sat and took a deep breath, after a long moment, he began to shift, unaware of the elf creeping up behind him. Jackal talked himself through the change, internally. 'Calm, soothing... you're alone, the forest is your safe haven... your home. You have nothing to fear...' He had finally started to figure out what it was that made the Animal within him emerge. After years he finally started to understand himself enough to take some responsibility of the Jackal. Th first to change was his arms, legs and spine. His Fur shortened and human attributes started to surface. Though his side-striped jackal markings were still visible on his human skin, his hair grew out to his shoulders. Shivering in the cold air, he struggled to further the change, force his human form to take shape. Whining against the will of the Canine. His snout shortened and teeth retracted, He looked like a caveman. Wearing nothing but a Fur loincloth. 'Almost there Guile. Just a bit more..' among his own voice comforting himself, he could still feel the Jackal's presence, the Jackal was still attuned to the forest around him, he began to worry as the Jackal pulled on his, his shift started to revert. "No, What-" He growled, trying to remain calm. his fur grew back and Guile was nearly lost again.
The Jackal could sense something, smell it, hear it. Something- or someone, was too near for Guile to feel the comfort he needed to shift. He flung his head back, crouching he spun around and caught sight of the Elf there, watching him. His heart jumped and skipped a few beats. "YOU!" He shouted. "No it can't be! I left you behind, you're gone!" The fear on his face was much to obvious, tail tucked between his legs, the Jackal Guile scrambled to make distance between them. "Please, Don't come any closer!" his cried were becoming whines now, closer to the high pitched screams of the Jackal. 'It's him, the Druid, he's back he's found me.' The Worry and doubt in his mind threatened to chase away his human form entirely. 'Keep him away.' He closed his eyes tight, laying on his back, propped up on one arm and the other he used to shield himself. In that split moment he clenched his teeth and waited for the 'Druid' to make his move. His heart was pounding and his mind was racing.

Frozen, Audivimus watched as a man shifted into being in front of his eyes. He'd seen a kinto shift before, but this seemed different. Something was wrong. The pining resonated through the trees, and then suddenly, the man began to revert just as quickly as his human form had begun to appear. The once again furred figure turned towards him suddenly then. The elf jumped a bit, surprised, as the man yelled. The angered fear of a cornered animal hit Audivimus like a boulder a second later, and he stumbled back a few steps, before kneeling down to be on the same level as the stranger. "No, wait-!" he spluttered. He wanted to say something to calm the kinto down, but he could tell that the elf had been mistaken for someone else. Brows furrowed, he watched as the man shielded himself. Sorrow hit him deep and he knew something terrible had been done to this poor man at some point. "I'm not hostile. I'm... just a healer." he stated calmly.

The half Jackal, half Man flinched as the Elf spoke out, expecting the worst and cowering with held breath. "I'm Sorry! I haven't been hunting I SWEAR!" Now Guile was in tear's awaiting his punishment. A Small voice came from somewhere within his fur as he spoke from behind his furred arms. "I haven't eaten, or Killed, or trapped I swear." When the Healer spoke again, Guile felt a twinge of pure pain, realizing that he... was curled up in a ball pleading for his life beneath the gaze of a complete stranger. He choked up and the weight of his worst fears crippling him. 'He's just... a Nobody.' He thought. Chest heaving, he shook with each exhale. He peered at the Elf cautiously through dampened eyelashes. Even now the sight of him terrified Guile, though he knew the Elf was not the one he should fear. Guile swallowed his pride and dignity, he Looked like a lowly peasant, covered in dirt and no clothing to speak of. He felt dirty and worthless.
Slowly he began to stir, he couldn't bare the thought of this stranger staring him down in that condition. He closed his eyes and shifted again. This one he could control. he took on the form of a 'Proper Kintu' as he referred to it as. He had the structure of a man, but the appearance of the jackal within him. Covered in fur from head to toe, dawning all aspects of the animal. He sat up, tail still tucked beneath him. Ears pulled back, the Emotion and guilt in his eyes evident even more so. In this Form Guile could speak with the Human language, if he could only find the words to cover up his entire lack of tact, and the embarrassment.

The fear and panic might as well have stabbed the elf straight through the chest. "My apologies. I didn't mean to catch you off guard... Are you in need of assistance?" Audivimus saw that the man has a nasty wound across his nose and muzzle. It oozed, very clearly new, and not cleaned. And for that matter, he was worried for the rest of the young man too. He could feel that the stranger was very hurt, but couldn't tell just how much of it was physical. He wondered if there was anything he could do to help, at least to pay his respects in a manner to make up for sending the stranger into such a panic. "If it helps... I could heal you," he motioned to the gash on the jackal's nose, "I've found that the white light is more helpful than many would first assume..."

Music
Guile peeled himself off the forest floor, to a sitting position, tail between his legs. His ears perked forward, and folded back again, eyes low. Slowly he began to breathe without the pain in his chest. His heartbeat regulated and the twinge of the pain in his snout came creeping back. 'Great, good one Jackal... bested by a tyrant a fraction of your size.' Bringing the back of his paw up to wipe away the dirt and blood, and some secret tears. He eyed the Man before him and his offer. 'A Healer? Well... that's convenient. Oddly enough, That's one thing I can say about Wildgard, there's no shortage of healers right when you need one...' He Sighed, awkward in silence. "I suppose I should speak.... eh?" he said, more to himself than to the Elf. 'Ugh. I hate... this. everything about this. Why, WHY?' The Jackal hung a paw over his snout, reluctant to even look at the Healer, or ask him for his healing. "I'm Jack- uh, Guile?" He shook his head. 'Just... go away. I can't do this.' Though he was still stuck on considering the offer of White light. He remembered spending time in the White Temple with Lady Kirsten, he was in a bad way then, and though he wasn't physically injured, the Half-Elf Healer laid a hand on his paw and healed him. Internally. He was so surprised by the effects of the white light that the Jackal within him went to sleep, and when he awoke, he was in Human form, and completely well rested. The Memory of that day put a mild racing back in his heart. 'Heal me. Yes.. I would very much like that. Sir.' but he couldn't bring himself to say it. So he wiped the newly trickled blood again and grit his teeth. "... I.." 'Do I apologize? No.. what did I do, I didn't do anything worth apologizing for. Should I thank him? ... for what? no that's stupid...Just.. ugh.'He stood up and brushed off his fur. "My Name is Guile. I appreciate your concern, Sir... I over reacted. That's all."

Slowly, and nearly silently, Audivimus rose to his feet and padded over to the kinto. His hand softly rested on the top of his head, just between Guile's ears. Before he even started casting, the pendant hanging from around the elf's neck started to glow a faint white light. "It's quite alright. This is the least I could do." The pendant grew brighter then, and the healer began to quietly recant the words of healing. He placed his other hand over his chest, the bright stone causing his hand to glow red in between each of his fingers. Within, the healer was drawing power from the stone and using his body and mind as a channel.
When he had left his monastery, he'd traveled almost exclusively with the purpose of the pendant in mind. Any individual could learn to use it with the proper training, unlike becoming a caster which usually requires an affinity for magic in the beginning. Audivimus had begun as a mere monk with only the slightest control of magic, only barely enough to heal himself; However, the leader of the monastery had chosen him to undergo the very specific training. After a few years, he left, pendant around his neck, and had spent the last two centuries enabling the stone to its gift. Of course, there was a very real danger involved with the stone, and the possibility of it falling into the wrong hands...
A few moments later, the incantation was complete, and the gash across Guile's face was healed over without even a scar. The elf took his hand away, and at the same time, self-consciously slipped the pendant into the neck of his robe. He was often conflicted between wanting to use it's power whenever possible, and trying to keep it hidden. Glancing around the forest, he hoped that only this man he'd helped had seen it.

Like a mere animal, Guile sat obediently, not a twitch or tremble in his tail. He eyed the Elf with uncontrollable suspicion... his heartbeat quickened though even he didn't understand it quite yet. The Elf lay his hand between his ears and Guile avoided his eye contact, letting his gaze fall to the Pendant around his neck. the slightest flicker of his whiskers held interest. When it began to glow Guile's eyes shone with desire. 'He's not a Healer.' breath catching in his chest. 'He can't be, he's got to be an impostor.' The words of the heal drifted into his ears and echoed in his mind though he was focused on his own thoughts instead, 'What is this artifact? how does it work?' These questions rattled around in his contorted mind for a moment, and then the dull throb of the Squirrel scratch subsided, along with the sting. As well as the hardly noticeable ache in his legs and paws from wandering the forest most of the day. He felt invigorated and alert once more.
Ever Since the day he ran into Nabbi and the White Lady, and they had taught him the knowledge of the finer points of the White Light. He had realized a very important fact. At least, Important to himself. You don't have to be physically injured to be the focus of White light. The will of the Healer can heal all wounds if they were skilled enough, even the wounds none could see. Emotional wounds... He blinked himself back to reality, Looking up at the Elf he stood to his feet. Manually dusting off his fur behind, wiping his clawed hand on his legs, He offered a hand to the Man. Staring at the Cloth where the Amulet had just been, the faint outline protruding to hint at it's presence.
He knew better than to Mention it, what kind of thief would he be if he told the Victim outright, that he wanted it... Grinning at that thought he averted his eyes. Back to the Elf again. "Again, thank you." Less than heartfelt, he took the man's hand. "Don't mind my appearance, I would shift but my clothing is hidden not far from here."

Smiling, the elf kindly took the man's hand in his own. His palm was still pleasantly warm from the spell. Guile's interest in the amulet did not pass Audivimus over entirely, though he disregarded it. Many times he'd dazzled and surprised, sometimes even scared, people with the powerful magnifier. Glumly, he recalled being in the thick of things with the demon warlord's channel passing between hands. He'd felt compelled to try his best to both protect his own important artifact, while wishing to keep the demonic power source out of hands that would abuse it. Of course, he failed, but the matter resolved itself anyway.
"Of course. If you need healing at any time, I'm happy to oblige." he remarked. His words were soft spoken and kind, though he kept a serious tone about him. With a partially amused smile, however, he added, "You merely need to find me."

Guile withdrew his hand, no doubt his eyes were sparkling, and his face was aglow. A strange grin swept across his muzzle, like he was in a daze. He was hearing the Elf, But more importantly in Guile's mind, he heard the word healing used many times from either the Healer himself, or the voice somewhere in Guile's mind.
Shaking out of it rather slowly, his smile faded, Realizing that this man was a chance passerby and he'd likely never see him again. "Wait, Where would one find you, if... one were to get themselves into a harmful situation... somehow?" He said, as nonchalant as possible. "You're a good man to have around in that case." He smirked. Swallowing the still pounding heartbeat in his throat.
