"Starfire, if Ursarius wishes to fight you should honour her and let her fight. I am confident she will prevail." Drogax said resting his hand on her shoulder. The looked to Ursa.
"Would she not come here unless she felt the same way, would she risk her life if she was not sure she could win? She is a strong creature of the wild capable of holding her own." He asked hoping for reasurance for Starfire from Ursa.

Ursarius nodded to Starfire and then to Drogax. "That's right. What he said." She turned back to her... father-figure and put her foot down. "I will fight in the Ursanrites and I will prevail. You don't have the right to stop me. And Without Longclaws here to resurrect me. My only option is success." ______________________________________________
Markkus Shook his head but Archon lifted a massive paw and held Markkus back. The Elder Ursanid grumbled and took a moment to look Ursa in the eyes. "Young Cub, What makes you think this time is going to be different than the last Thirteen times? Why now?" He peered deep into her eyes "Tell me what has changed." Ursarius looked up at him and Placed her hand over her heart. In truth, nothing had changed, She was still the exact same bear that she had always been. She didn't have to say anything. She Knew her Father would understand. it was like He had always told her. Each Ursanid finds strength in different things, Not every Elite Bear relied on strength alone to be strong. And she had founs her strength in Starfire.
Archon took note of her gesture and nodded again. "Very well, You may fight, But if you fall, you will take your place in the afterlife and Join the ranks of Short-tail the Traitor..."

Star stood up. "NO!" She shouted. "I'm not losing you... Not again." Star shook her head as the tears kept falling. Her face was red her hands were still cold. "I...I... I'm fighting with you.." Star looked to the ground knowing she would deny her help. She stood strong. She turned on her heals, She faced the bear that stood in the front of the room. She was mad. Angry. She wanted to kill. She wanted to kill the ones who challenged her. She may be small and look weak but all she needed was someone beside her to win her battle.

"Starfire don't be a fool, the bears would never let a human fight in these rites. From my understanding it is a rite of passage, an ascension for those who succeed. Everyone has rituals you can't go challenging elders just because you don't like the choices a friend makes." Drogax said looking at Starfire square in the eyes stepping almost directly between her and Bear.

Ursa placed a hand on Drogax's Shoulder and smiled. "You're right Drogax, You have a very valid point. Please, Stand down." She looked at him, and then at Starfire. "Both of you." She took a deep breath and looked around at all of the faces staring at her, the Bears of all shapes, sizes and colors. And then the Humans that she called her friends. Lastly she turned back to Markkus, whom at one point, she had called a brother. "There is only one Ursanid missing from all of this. Where is Marzaeus?" She asked, scanning the faces for an sign of him. _________________________________________________________ Markkus Grunted. "Marzaeus has been missing for quite some time. When Short-tail betrayed the Bearkin, and you went after him, and then you left and Longclaws went after you, Marzaeus went after Longclaws. He sent word a few weeks ago that some Lynx from the city of Wildgard was wandering through the Promenade, that was the last we heard of him for a long while."
Ursa crossed her arms and watched as the Bears slowly wandered off to continue on their business. A handful stayed behind to find out what the next decision would be. So they Turned to their Elder for Guidance. Archon Spoke, "You have a day to Prepare yourself, I will sound the call of the Ursanrites. Tomorrow we will have a bonfire, and a fight to the fall of our Best Fighters."

Star turned back to Ursa. "I am fighting with you or I am fighting this battle. And your not Fucking Dying!!!" Then she turned to Drogax "I"m sick of taking orders!! Drogax!! Stop following! Ugh.... I hate this." Star went into her bag and pulled out her dagger and walked up to the big bear in the front of the room and held her dagger out toward him. "Your going to let me fight with her... Or she's not fighting at all. I may not be her mother, but all I know is that she's not fighting alone!!!!" Star was pissed more then ever she felt a growl deep in her chest.

Archon peered down at the small blade and wrinkled his nose at the smell of blood still lingering on it. The other Bears that had stuck behind to watch the outcome gasped. Archon was unarmed, and therefore, he was unafraid. On the Mountain no one was attacked if unable to defend themselves. And no one was threatened without first being threatened.
"The Warriors all fight alone." He said. "In the end we will all perish alone, Because we are not whole if we are shared with someone else. As is our Power. We are not Strong if our strength relies on someone else." He stared down at Starfire and moved his eyes toward Ursarius. "Sometimes the Weak can become Strong, and the Strong can become weak. But those who are alone will remain alone."

"She's is not "Perishing" alone. If she dies.... I die with her." Star said lowering the dagger she held in her hand and turning her head toward Ursa. "She is Bear... The one who took me in after being lost in the forest of Wildgard. She helped me. She didn't abandon me. So i'm not going to abandon her." Star put the dagger back in her bag. "Plus.... She isn't a warrior.... She's a Scout."

Drogax stood there quietly watching everything unfold. Starfire seemed determined to fight with Ursarius but the bears were set in their ways. He was interested to see what would happen, yet he was growing tired of Starfire's insistence.

Archon nodded slowly, considering his next move. "Ursa... My Cub." He spoke slowly. "I would like to speak with you alone if I could. But I can see my wish won't be granted with this small human in your presence." Archon took a good look at Starfire. Then Whispered so that only those close enough could hear him. "She's Brave my Child. I can see why you are so fond of her."
Ursa stiffens up and tries to control the redness in her cheeks. Archon raises a massive paw to scratch behind one of his ears, giving Starfire a concerned look. Then back to Ursa. "She's willing to die for you... that's a strength not many have..." Ursa's shy face melted away into a worried expression as she Watched Archon, fear crept over her, and she knew exactly what he was thinking. "No..." She whispered, "Archon." her eyes pleaded with him wordlessly. He grinned, yellowing teeth visible under a curled lip. Ursa looked at Starfire with fear in her eyes, and then back to Archon. "No Archon, I know what you're thinking, My answer is NO!" Her voice was raised and shakey.
Markkus had begun to listen closer and raised an eyebrow at the tension between them, giving Starfire a curious look. Markkus didn't see anything special in her and was wondering what the big deal was. he looked at Drogax and furrowed a brow, crossing his arms, he stood and watched as well.
Archon stood to his full height and ignored what Ursa was saying to him. he raised his arms high in the Air and spoke with a Booming Voice. "I have Decided!" he said. "Sound the call of the Ursanrites, and Gather round, my Warriors...Druids! ...and Scouts." he smiled. "For tomorrow, we fight." the Bears roared loudly, shaking the mountain beneath them, they Roared loudly over and over for a long moment, and then Archon Turned and went back into his hut without a word. leaving Everyone to Wonder what he had planned.
Ursarius turned to Drogax and Starfire with a sinking feeling. She gave Starfire a look of sadness and Guilt. "I'm sorry Star..." She said. Swallowing hard.
