A half-moon hung in the night sky, largely obscured by thick clouds. Only a small amount of moonlight was able to filter through them and wash over the city of Wildgard; not enough to be able to make one's way easily in this dark.
Yet a lithe figure had run into the city from the direction of Fort MacNeil, and only once they were among the buildings did their pace slow into a walk. Their ears, perched atop a wild puff of hair, lay flat against their skull, and their tail hung almost limp with a twitching tip. They walked through the city with shoulders slumped and steps heavy as deep, ragged breaths shook their whole body. Moonlight caught in their hazel eyes and on the hilts of the twin daggers that rested on their back.
The pace of the newcomer slowed the more they walked. The change of pace from running to walking only worsened their exhaustion, unlike they'd hoped, and their focus wasn't as sharp as they would have liked. So weak was their focus that an indent in the ground that they'd failed to notice caught one of their bare feet, and they fell. A grunt accompanied the thump of their body hitting the ground. They laid there for several minutes, their breathing evening out as time passed. It felt good to stop moving...

Thea was doing her own thing. There was not many times when she had the luxury of this... between keeping her tower in order and organizing all of the new books sent over by the Dragon's Nest the druid was just swamped. She hardly ever got out anymore, and had little to no idea of the goings on in Wildgard. Since the death of her good friend Idina, Thea had become somewhat reclusive. She spent her days busy as she had all winter. She was afraid of what would happen if she were to slow down, or let her mind start to wander...
Still she was learning many new and exciting things about druid magic. Though Thea was not perfect she was still a lot better then she had been in the past.
Thea had been almost napping on a pile of books before allowing herself to admit defeat for the day. It was time for a break, so she took her favourite book of spells and was planning on going outside to study it. 'One cannot always study at a dark desk inside,' she thought as she pulled on her brown cloak.
Upon Opening the door she noticed 2 things. The first was that it was a lot darker outside then she first thought it would be. The second was that there seemed to be a strange cat thing lying on her front door step. Thea rushed over kneeling down to check for a pulse. Though she wasn't a healer she did know some of the healing arts.

The heartbeat pounding in the Kinto's ears was enough to block out the other sounds in the night, such as the breeze blowing long-dead leaves across the field or a door opening not far from where they lay. It was hard, however, to miss the feeling of a hand reaching towards the artery in one's neck... Fyf reacted instantly, rolling away from the hand and into a crouching position to face whoever the hand belonged to, right hand hovering close to the hilt of one dagger. They stared at the person they saw for a few moments. Light hair tied loosely back, disheveled clothing, and most noticeable to them: round ears. Their heart beat a bit faster at the sight of those ears, and their tail swished over the ground behind them.
"Human," they muttered, a scar over the right side of their mouth inhibiting much lip movement on that side. When they spoke again, it was louder so the human could hear it: "Tell me, human, do you have any qualms against Kintu?" Their hand didn't move from its position, ready to grab a familiar weapon if it meant safety.

Thea felt the pulse almost immediately and sighed in relief. At least what ever they are, they are alive. She noticed that they started breathing heavily, and when a hand reached for one of the twin daggers, Thea flinched. Its generous to say she flinched, it was more like she jumped back several feet. She pulled an entangle from her bag when she heard them speak.
"No!" Thea exclaimed. "I have no problems with any creature or being as long as they do not intend me harm." Still the druid was keeping her distance though. "Do you intend harm on me or these lands?" She asked, fully ready to entangle or even call lightning if they did.

The human knew how to defend themselves, too, it seemed. Fyf recognized Druid's magic in her hands, far more powerful than theirs. They lowered their hand from their dagger when she answered their question about Kintu, but kept both hands above their waist with thei palms toward the other person.
"I won't hurt anyone unless they hurt me first," they assured. They would've specified further - the words were dancing on the tip of their tongue - but their heartbeat had slowed when the threat of being harmed for their heritage had passed, and the adrenaline was waning. Hazel eyes rolled back for a moment as the cat Kinto slumped forward, their bent knee catching them before they could hit the ground again. They shook their head quickly and tried to straighten themselves again, but a lack of energy kept their torso from rising fully; they were still able to lift their head and look at the human.

"Oh gods." Thea started. After the shock of seeing the kintu she hadn't properly assessed them. Now she saw, and sadly she realized that she would not be getting her relax time today. "Common, lets get you up." The druid hooked her hands under the kintu's armpits and started lifting them slowly. "You have to help to. I know you do not have much strength but I cannot lift you inside by myself." She huffed as she was lifting. "By the way, my name is Thea."

"I got this," they muttered, although more to themselves than anyone else. They helped the human - Thea - by pushing their foot against the ground, bringing their other foot down to help once they were high enough to straighten that leg.
"Thank you," they said, louder than before. "And I'm Fyf. Sorry for, uh..." Now that the Kinto was standing and not entirely responsible for supporting their own weight, it was easier to notice their surroundings. The first thing that demanded notice was the tall building not ten feet in front of them, its height easily matching that of the trees in the forests Fyf had just been running through. They tipped their head to the right, listening for noise inside. "Is this your place?"

"Yes, this is my tower." Thea answered. "And do not worry about it, what am I hear for if not to save kintu on my front door step." She laughed, it had been so long since she had laughed. It felt nice.
Thea helped Fyf into the tower, clumsily opening the door with one hand (which still bore the tome she had intended on reading. Though the tower was not even a year in age, the door still creaked. Inside it was darker, lit by lamps strewn over the open space, illuminating only what it was necessary to see.
It will be impossible to get Fyf up the stairs, Thea thought. Then she remembered the couch resting in the corner where she loved to read. The couch could hold them until they were well enough to travel the stairs to a proper bed. Until then Thea hoped she wasn't stuck playing nurse maid. She lay the kintu down and grabbed some near by blankets with which to cover him. "You may sleep here tonight," Thea looked at them with care. "Just make sure you actually get some rest."
Just then the whole tree shook, like a small explosion had taken place below. "Damn that rabbit!" Thea muttered under her breath. Then to Fyf said, "I'm sorry about that, I'll make sure he doesn't do that all night."

*So she's a charity giver, huh?* Fyf thought to themselves. but Thea's laughter cut through their thoughts and cast a different light on her words. *Well, she's got a sense of humour, at least. That's good.*
The human brought them over to a couch, whereupon the Kinto plopped less than gracefully. A full ache settled into the bone of their shins once their feet were off the ground, and Fyf sighed contentedly as their body sunk back into the couch. The sound of the explosion did little to faze them; it felt good to relax
It was their turn to laugh when Thea apologized for such a noise. "No worries," they assured, "I've heard worse noises at worse times!" They turned to face the girl. The light was better in the tower, letting the paleness of her hair reveal itself duly and letting her blue eyes be seen. (How weird it was to Fyf that humans' eyes didn't reflect light). "Thanks, again," they said. "I won't be much of a bother to you."

Thea laughed again, this time it was small and tinkling. "Really don't worry about it." She stated again, smiling. "Just get some good rest ok? If you have any problems just yell, I should be up for a little while longer." She turned. "Goodnight Fyf." Thea said this more tiredly then anything, it was time for bed and she knew it. The druid yawned as she started climbing the spiral stair case in the middle of the tower.

"'Night, Thea," Fyf called, an accent pulling on the vowels of the phrase. Once she was out of earshot, they closed their eyes as they shifted their position slightly on the couch. they blinked once or twice, their eyes only opening halfway each time. Fatigue washed over the cat Kinto in that moment like a wave, and they sighed as though it carried weight. They closed their eyes one final time, and, with a small smile tugging on the intact corner of their mouth, curled up to the back of the couch and drifted off to sleep.
