It had been a good day, Xander thought as he closed and locked his door. Even though Jay had technically died, he was resurrected shortly afterward only because Xander had knocked out the Raven and saved Idina and Lyla. And by knocking him out, he had allowed Ashen to question him and later acquire the mask. The mask, that interesting thing. He walked over to his clothes chest, unlocked the lid, and opened it. However, rather than take anything from the inside, he instead then muttered something under his breath, causing his finger to glow, and traced a shape into the lid. After the shape was complete, he muttered something else, and an opening appeared in the lid, revealing the mask as well as the three oculi pye had lent him. He removed the four items and put them on his desk along with a stack of parchment, then started studying the mask through the oculi.

Helen was exploring her new souroundings. Mostly in cat form because she didnt feel quite comfortable yet, she was skeptical of some of the motives they projected. As a cat, Helen had found that she could move freely and unhindered by fear or other beings. The stelth cat of doom had stood at doors and walked through common places without problem. The wizard was strange though, he didnt seem like he belonged in these lands... though few really did. She felt a pull on him from another land, as if it was willing him to go back. This was strange very strange... thus Helen had stalked him as soon as he came in the door. Until he went into what seemed to be his room, then Helen had made a choice. He didn't seem dangerous, she thought, but she was more curious then anything. So she slipped into the room.

After some time intently studying, Xander looks up from the desk to see a cat lounging on the bed. Eyes going wide, he quickly put the mask down and shut his desk. "Why is there a cat in my room?" He asked himself while also closing the lid of the chest. "My door was locked, did that rabbit teleport in here while I was out? Or was- wait, maybe it's one of those animal people, what was the name? Katos?" He glares at the cat and asks, "What did you see?"

Helen stretched out on the bed and yawned, claws unsheathing themselves from her paws before retracting again. She sat up, looking over at the young magic user (who's name she was still unaware of) and gave the best confused 'meow' that she could muster. Helen cocked her head to once side as her tail wrapped around her, if all went well he wouldn't suspect a thing.

Deciding that the cat probably was just a cat, Xander visibly relaxes and sits on the bed next to the cat and proceeds to scratch it between the ears. "You know, I used to have a cat like you named Xerxes. Actually, he's probably still alive, just not here. I hope my family is taking good care of him." He takes the cat into his lap and continues petting it.

Helen purs, and curls up on the young wizards lap. If there was one thing she couldn't deny while being a cat, it was how much she loved being pet. After a bit she looked up at him quizzically, as if wanting him to continue talking.

"Xerxes was- no, is a cat of the royal family. His predecessors have been in my family for generations, they've served next to the kings of my land for closer to two centuries, and their life spans were both lengthened to that of an average human, but also connected to the master they chose at birth. Xerxes was born when I was two, and he had been at my side through everything since, until I got teleported here with nothing other than what I was wearing." Xander sighs. "At least my parents know I'm still alive, so as long as Xerxes is still alive they won't worry too much." As he says this, he lays back and starts reminiscing about the times he spent with Xerxes doing something similar to this, just talking to clear his head. It really did help.

Helen perked up when she heard of this royal cat. There were such weird things in these northern paces, though Helen herself was not one to talk. She still wondered where this strange person was from... She could tell it was south of Wildgard, but not how far south. Helen started purring as the wizard started talking about his parents and then was silent. This was all well for a while, before Helen remembered the mask. Hopping off of the young cat lovers lap and jumping to the desk chair, pawing at the closed desk. This mask she had seen, these looking glasses, what were they?

Xander looks up at the cat trying to get into his desk. "Oh yeah, I was working on that when you interrupted. I'd better finish up if I want any sleep tonight." He sits down, opens the desk, and starts inspecting the mask again with the oculi.

Helen jumped onto an empty spot on the desk, she hadn't gotten a good look at the mask before now. She stared intently. Why did they look so familiar?
The cat dragon jumped back into the desk, hissing loudly! Helen remembered, in the forest, that man... what had they called him... the raven? He had known, he knew her form! She could feel her hair sticking up on end, her ears pointed and tail up in alarm. Helen jumped off the desk, though a curious being she had no wish to dabble in this possibly dark magic. She scampered under the bed, hiding in the far corner.
