"Perhaps I'll take you up on that deal if I'm around long enough to have my equipment in need of mending." He smiled at her before taking another puff from him pipe.
At her final question the assassin's mind raced with indecision. This entire conversation was a mind game. His trade at it's best. Should he describe his target to her? She had already seemed suspicion of him and he knew something was off right form the moment of their meeting. But was it because she knew who he was after? He was getting the feeling that she was playing him just as much as he was playing her.
"Honestly, we were never sure our backgrounds, the two of us. So I couldn't say for sure. And I haven't seen him in so long I fear I wouldn't even be able to accurately describe him anyway." The half-elf scratched his beard with his free hand seemingly exasperated. "I just hope I can recognize him if I DO see him." That was a blatant lie. He knew damned well that he'd recognize him anywhere. After all, the daggers sheathed at Kilindyl's own back were exact replica's of those his target carried.

"I see, I understand" Ashen spook smiling, the Ale working far more then she intended to relax her nerves. "im sure you'll recognize him, if you are friends. Lord I can pick out my Allies easily in a crowded room, and one of them I recently met!" she jest as she eyed his Armor once more. she Smiled, maybe now she would get the information she needed. he seemed to be giving nothing but half truths.
"he has a Darker Demeter then you do, im afraid to admit." she laughed, crossing her legs and sitting quite relaxed. she wanted to pretend to be more intoxicated then she was, but truly she was done with this game they where playing. she knew her bow would take to long to get, however her throwing knifes on her legs where very easy to grab and throw in seconds, as well as a Dagger under her cloak as well if she needed to stab him and run, even if the blade was her fathers. she would be willing to sacrifice it to get to Fallen and warn him if needed.
Ashen couldn't help but feel she had to end her suspicions soon. raising her stein to her lips she looked Kilindyl right in the eye, glare peering far into his mind she hoped. "Kilindyl, Truth! do you intend to do harm to your Drow friend?" her Glare never left as she held her pose. the stein resting on her bottom lip, her other hand rising on her throwing knifes. even her breath began to still. she knew damn well why he was here, his armor was far to similar and he was far to shady to not be close to Fallen, the question was...was he an enemy, or truly a friend. Sure she could be completely wrong, but then Fallen wouldn't be in Danger would he?

The half-elf's eyes widened in sincere and uncharacteristic shock at her question and the spell behind it. Magic compelling him to answer, the word passed his lips before he really even thought about it. "Maybe." Body completely still, he only stared at her in continued shock for a moment, his green eyes wide.
In one quick moment he threw both hands above his head in surrender, pipe still balanced between his first and second finger. "Ok. Ok." He stammered, mind racing with possible ways on HOW she'd managed to beat him at his own game. "Now, let's see if I can talk this out before you engage me because I can see it in your demeanor that you want to. You beat me at my own game, very good. I'm still trying to figure out how."
With his feet still kicked up on the other chair, he very slowly and deliberately set his pipe down on the table before raising his hand again.
"As far as I can see I didn't slip up in an obvious way unless your a lot closer to him than I know him to get to anyone. What gave me away?" His expression had finally changed from shock to a steady and calm gaze.

"you avoided details every time I searched for them, your armors is very similar, and your daggers match. also, I smell the same smell on you as I do him. something musty that has seeped into your skin many years ago. I am no fool." Ashen was stern as she placed her stein down, she wasn't in the mood for games anymore. "are you here to hurt him? if you are, then im sorry your charm and life ends here. choose your next words carefully." Ashen Intoxicated and playful composer had vanished the second Kilindyl only replied maybe.
"I honestly don't wish to kill you, but I have already Protected him two times. im not about to let a possible third happen." a growl began to grow from the bottom of her throat, Animal like a raw. she was readying herself to strike.

"I honestly don't wish to kill you either." The man's face fell to a solemn mask. "As for him." The elf sighed finally lowering his hands to run them through his hair. "It was the mission I was sent on. He's technically my target. But will I actually kill him? I haven't decided yet."
The assassin grit his teeth in frustration. "He and I have a history. A history I guarantee goes back farther than whatever friendship you've formed. I know more about him than you will ever know."
He furrowed his brow. "I don't want to hurt you and I have not and will not threaten you here. But if you intend on making a scene in this rather crowded tavern I will defend myself." Finally, he lowered his feet from the chair, resting his arms on the table as he leveled serious eyes at her.

"if he truly is your friend, how could you think of killing him. I would like answers..." Ashen hissed, she didn't want to trust the man. but maybe she could talk this one into not killing Fallen. quickly she drew her dagger, sitting upright. then after a moment she set it on the table with a slight slam. "if you truly wish to talk then talk, however all games and lies are off. I have defended him many a time and I will do it again. I will not attack you so long as you don't attack him, myself or any silver scale member. I promise you this, and when I promise something I never back down from my word."
Ashen lightened her Features slightly, her heart was racing a mile a minute. her eyes never left his, hopefully the man was up for discussion. she prayed deep down he would give her something, something to go off of to convince him to not kill Fallen. she didn't want to break her vow of killing. however it seemed that vow was pointless as of late.

"You realize that I have barely told you any lie here today. In fact, the best lies are told with the truth." The man barely moved a muscle as the dagger was slammed on the table. "I haven't seen him since we were both kids. He was my friend back then. More like my brother."
The half-elf grit his teeth. The story of their past was still a knife that cut him. How could he explain this to her without her getting in the way? "How much has he told you about his past? I bet he hasn't even mentioned me." The assassin snorted in disdain, his anger actually showing through for a split second.
It was a funny thing, her threatening him like this. She said that she had protected his old friend from assassins before. But Kell was literally that towns last option. The secret weapon. The only one better trained than the drow himself. He didn't want to harm this woman, but he knew without a doubt that he could.

"he didn't want to tell him his past, because it pained him. that it would take many moon before he would open up to me because of his past, from my understanding" Ashen Still sitting still.
"if you where more like brothers, why kill him? I couldn't think killing loved ones regardless of a 'job'" Ashen tried hard not to sound angry. the very thought of killing a loved one made her sick. remembering the slight anger the trained Elf showed, showed Ashen that maybe, Kelindyl was hurt as well, what was with this half elf and Fallen? this began to make question swim though Ashen's mind.
With a sigh she leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms and her legs. she waited to run back to the Silver scale and Warn Fallen. however if she did, fallen would run before he was better...she would have to ether convince Kilindyl not to kill fallen, Or help Fallen run far away. both thoughts pained her, worry began to show on her face, as much as she tried to hid it. "I wonder Kilindyl, what pains you? Do you want him Dead for something he did to you? Brothers are ment to forgive and grow together."

The assassins hands actually pulled into fists on the table for a moment, his jaw clenched painfully as he stared at her with piercing green eyes. After a moment of silence he dropped his head into his hands and let out a long groan, covering his eyes. "Why can't you just leave this to play out. This is beyond you. And as far as you know he'll kill me and it'll all end well for you lot."
This was so frustrating. He wasn't prepared to tell his entire life story to someone he didn't know only to protect someone he wasn't even sure if he hated or not. It was guaranteed that whatever he told her now would make it to the drow. And that would either give him serious time to prepare for a showdown, or time enough to disappear once again into the mist. Just like he had done that night so long ago.

"I cant because currently im trying to make sure he doesn't bleed out and die in my bed. im not about to let someone I love die, by fates hands or yours. if you don't wish to tell me your past that's fine, Fallen refuses to also. nearly with the same reaction, full of hate, hurt and shame." Ashen snapped as her face flooded with worry. she just let him know that Fallen was injured and Angry elfs weren't exactly her thing.
"I am meddling because I know that someone I love, is in danger...again." Ashen spook more softly looking away slightly only for a moment. then with a sigh her eyes returned to his. more softly she was hoping if maybe she forced herself to relax, perhaps he would as well. "I hope you understand why im being so protective now. I didn't want to think you even had any connections with him to begin with, I prayed it to be nothing more then a similarity. I do like you as a person if what you where showing me earlier was the real you. I stand by what I said, if you wish not to tell me fine, im merely trying to protect him. that is all..is there anyway I can get you not to try for his life?"
everything she spoke was truth in soft words, she didn't want to kill this man, if he truly was Fallens friend and seeing his pain match the drows, she knew something had to have happened to them both. she prayed, prayed that he would calm down and possibly give her an out to keeping him alive.

The assassin listened to her closely, his head still in his hands. As she finished speaking he let out an exasperated and helpless groan as he slid further down to the table. His forehead hit the wood with a dull thunk as waves of blonde head spilled out to cover his arms and hands that were laying out in front of him.
Damn....damn it...damn it. First he had been made and now. He groaned again. This wasn't the way it was supposed to happen. It was frustrating and just....urrrg.
"xsa'ol" He finally bit out, his voice rather muffled from his arms and hair in the way. He repeated the curse four or five times before actually switching to the common tongue. "Is he going to live?" He didn't even raise his head.
The half-elf didn't necessarily want to kill....fallen? Is that what he was going by now? No...he didn't want to kill him. He wanted to confront him. He wanted the whole story. He wanted the truth as much as this woman did. And if that confrontation turned into a fight, Kilindyl was confidant in his skills.

"honglath dosstan Kil" Ashen reminded calm as she spoke, he seemed somewhat distressed now. perhaps, he did care for Fallen still. it seemed that with his Body language and actions, he was almost in a turmoil with himself. did beating him at his own game rattle him this much?
still speaking softly her voice now rang with the slightest twinge of concern "I don't know, I couldn't heal him properly yesterday and I have been out all night in search of herbs and food for him. I came here to warm my skin before it froze off. I didn't intend to stay this long." she uncrossed her arms and leaned on the table.
"and if I tell him, I had to kill an assassin seven moons ago, and you are here. he wont stay still long enough for me to treat him. so, if I know you wont kill him ill be able to. I have yet to tell him of the previous Assassin, and the last one he handled put him in the state he is in. gods Kil I have to rip an Arrow from his shoulder." she shook her head. "no one, drow, elf or otherwise should have to feel like they need to run forever. I want to give him a safe home." looking back at Kil
"I don't want to lie to him Kil, you know im not a good lair." she slightly smiled hoping to release some tension, despite the nature of the topic at hand.

"Lu'oh kuuv dos." The assassin bit out the angry response to her speaking in the language he'd known his entire life. "Dos zhaun naubol." After a moment the half-elf forced the anger and frustration off his face and allowed the emotionless mask to slip over his features. Finally he pulled himself off the table, his features and eyes dead and emotionless. This was his training at it's best.
"If he was so injured than his attacker got the jump on him, as those in our profession usually do." His voice matched his expression, even and emotionless. "I have no intention to assassinate him." Everything that was Kilindyl's personality was gone now, hidden easily away behind the years of training.
"There are things I need to know. This is a decade old issue. Not one for you to interfere in." His eyes never left her. "I give my word I won't harm him while he's down. I can't give my word I won't harm him when he's healthy. But that will be up to him. Tell him if you must but that won't change anything. He only has himself to blame for this."

Ashen almost relaxed completely, she felt like she could trust him strangely enough. "alright calm down Kil, I believe your word, I wont tell him your here. I am sorry for being defensive and meddling earlier. I needed to know if I could trust you and I feel like I can. least until Fallen gets back on his feet." she breathed a sigh of relief.
"so please I ask you again to calm down. I wont be Praying anymore, least for now. my Main concern is Fallen, and now you. if you like I can let you know how Fallen is when he recovers. if you where truly brother at one point who am I to judge. I probably would be getting just as frustrated as you if I was in your situation with my Sister." slight twinge of pain grew on her face as she held the little, slightly glowing orb around her neck. same I will never have a moment with her again. she thought.
"please accept my apologizes I was merely checking the ground in which I stepped. I know where I shouldn't tread any longer I promise you." Ashen bowed her head to him. she knew his mask wouldn't leave if it was anything like Fallen's. she did hope he heard the sincerity in her voice when she apologized. she knew she escalated the problem to quickly. she may have been able to pick up que's well enough, but she was still trying her hand at smooth talking, she really needed to work on it.

"Let's get real here." The assassin leaned back slightly, his expression still unchanging. "You know you can't trust me. I know I can't trust you. There's been enough bullshit at this table already."
"If you're going to meddle in an almost eighty year old drows business and assume that he's not a seasoned enough fighter to take me on in hand to hand than so be it. But lets not lie about it. This situation is already laid bare."
He paused for a moment before continuing. "Now I'm going to tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to get up and I'm going to leave. You might see me around town and in the tavern, you might not. I am going to continue on with my business and whatever you plan on doing with him, telling him about me or otherwise, that's your choice."
Finally, the half-elf leaned forward, his expression finally changing to one of seriousness. "But if you assume you can either take me down in head on combat or get the jump on me, you should know this. Kethri left before he finished his training. I on the other hand did not."
