Even as she spent time deciding his hand never wavered with the offer. Anyone else would have pulled away but he could see the dilemma she was in. Watching her with raised brows, relief flooded him when she finally accepted. Normally peopled owed him, not the other way around. But he knew she probably would. Whether she knew it or not, she had been shooting glances at his kill since them moment she bounded up to him.
Nodding, he spoke. "You probably need them more than I. In a moment of desperation I could always dine in the tavern." he still had a fair amount of coin from the last couple of jobs he'd taken. It should be more than enough to cover multiple meals, even a stay in the inn if he wanted. Not that he would want to. Eating around people he often did. Taverns were one of the best places to pick up employers. But sleeping around people was another thing. It was the only time his guard was ever down. The one time he would not be able to defend himself. And that prospect terrified him.
As he watched her sling the rabbits over her shoulder he caught a glimpse of something under her cloak. Bandages...but also...no...He blinked for a moment before turning to continue walking towards town. Had that actually been a wing? Were his eyes deceiving him? Had it been a trick of the light? Although her reaction was certainly a tell. She was suddenly nervous, trying to skip over what just happened. Very interesting. So perhaps they were both hiding parts of themselves behind cloth. But was it out of shame or was she trying to protect herself, was the question. It was hard to imagine the people here being so judgmental. If anything could been said about Wildgard from what he'd seen (Not mentioning the cold) It was that the people here were generally more accepting than usual. He had gotten startlingly less dirty glances here then anywhere else he'd traveled.
Banishing the thoughts, he turned his mind to the town. It didn't matter either way, he supposed. To each their own. He wouldn't pry.
