Speaking in a low growl, Thistle gestured at the fire demon. "Zell. Dog of the military. How good to see you again." Thistle paused, unsure of himself. "You seem surprised to see me again. Did you have that little faith in me? How rude"
Examining the demon closely, Thistle realized that the demon was severely injured.
"No, Starfire. Can't you see? This one has failed me, and was forced to retreat in shame." Thistle was beginning to enjoy himself now, and felt himself slipping into the role of Destael.

The generals eyes widened, taken aback. It was hard to tell what the voice sounded like past the low growl they spoke in. It could be her...was it her? Swallowing hard, he stared up at the figure wide eyed. Destael was generally more forgiving....but she had almost died....or did she?? It could have changed her mindset.
"I have always held you in the highest esteem, my lord." The demon lowered his head in respect, mind still whirring with thoughts. "But Balthezar is a strong opponent."
Things seemed off. Her demeanor....her voice. He shot a narrow eyed glance at the scout. She seemed nervous. Yes. Things were definitely off.
"I fell back because I was nearly killed in combat. You would have your general fall in your name?" That wasn't like Destael.

Starfire sat down on the bench watching Zell. His facial expression, it showed that he was tired but he was figuring things out.. Slowly but she saw it. As the pain in her chest slowly disappearing and being replaced with a numbing ting.
Starfire flipped through the pages. "No, we wouldn't want the strongest man falling because of Balthazar. But you know, people have gotten to talk with Balthazar, I know what he wants." A light smirk played across her lips as she turned her focus back to Thistle.

Seeing the general tense, Thistle backpedaled. "No... You're right. I apologize. That was a rude thing for me to say. TO be honest, I'm a little unsure of myself right now. The body change has affected me strongly. As you can see, I am once again male..." trailed off, deciding to play the confused and disoriented card. But first... He accessed the massive reserve of power in the amulet that was now hidden under the armor. Taping into it, he created a mental connection between him and Starfire. The power change was slight, and invisible to the naked eye. Thistle just hoped that Zell would be too preoccupied with the enigma that D's appearance presented to notice with his stupid power radar thing.
Speaking directly into Starfire's consciousness, Thistle pleaded for help. "Star... Don't be alarmed. It's me, Thistle. Zell can't hear us. Just think your answers, clearly, and imagine them as words in my brain. I need your help. How does Destael act? How should I play this?"
Thistle was feeling desperate. This situation was not favorable for him at all. If worst came to worse, he would have to fight his way out, and he didn't want to fight the flames of this demon again, in such small area. Zell was wounded, so it was likely Thistle could survive.... But he still couldn't chance it.

Keeping his expression passive, the general finally and with great effort, stood. He didn't want them to know how much pain he was in, particularly now. He was still not sure if this person was Destael. Was this one of Balthezars spies? An enemy operative. An assassin?? Or something to do with the scout....
"I can't imagine how confusing that must be." He stepped forward slightly, his loose fitting robes sweeping behind him. "But I suggest we get down to business considering the length of time you've been gone. Lord Halizar has many plans that you should know. In fact, he'll be returning shortly and I can take you to him."
"But first, like always, name me and we can continue." His eyes flickered for a moment. There were very few people who knew his full name, those being the warlords he served under.
Then again, he really should be playing it safe. Destael or not, they were fully armored while he was both unarmed and only in a tunic. Not to mention his lose of speed and agility from his condition. If it came down to it would his fire be enough?

Starfire rolled her eyes at Thistle. The voice in her head wasn't anything new. 'Don't apologize for wht you say.' Was the first thing that came to mind. As soon as Zell ha spoken her eyes went wide as she began to panic. 'I-I don't know.... His name. Thistle just... Hang on.' She said before standing up and walking over to Zell. "Why should she name you? She's our warlord." Starfire's words were harsh, she circled around him before walking back over to Thistle. "My lord, we should get back to the human plane, I think Halizar has everything... Well, undercontrol." She hated calling Thistle of all people her lord.

Thistle's heart sank, realizing his ploy would fail. He couldn't leave the room without breaking the illusion spell he had wrought. The spell was cast over a small area, affecting everything inside it. If he even attempted to leave, he would be found out immediately."Star, we can't leave. The spell only affects this room. Think. I need your help."
"Name you? Do you not believe that it is me? Are you not joyous that I am alive?" Thistle's mind worked, thoughts tumbling over themselves as he tried to think a way out of this.

"We considered it a sign of respect and trust." He spoke directly to the scout. "After all, I'm a strong ally and have been general of my lords armies for a very long time. Since....Wow, since the day she managed to sneak in and assassinate Obareon, if I remember correctly."
"But, of course my lord knows all of this." He turned a coy gaze at the armored figure. "As for my name....I trust that you haven't forgotten it after all you've went through."
His face was a mask of indifference, although a tiny hint of his smug attitude came through. Nearly everything he had just said was a lie. If this were really his warlord....he would correct him immediately. At this point Zell was almost sure it wasn't....but despite everything there was a tiny sliver of doubt in his mind. Things were often not what they seemed these days.

Starfire shook her head and thought for a moment. 'Thistle, I don't think thats true. Do you remember how Fallaryn figured out Balthazars name? Well, the name of a demon is like a control thing like hiw when everyone figured out Destael's name. I'm not for sure but i'm almost positive that it's not a sign of respect.' She told Thistle. 'I also think I could maybe possibly distract him. Or since he doesn't seem to be armored, i could grab one of your weapons or something that would buy you time to sneak out without being seen.'

Thistle heard Starfire's voice echo in his thoughts, as he tried to think. Half a millisecond later, after running through the myriad different answers he could use, he came to a realization. Zell had known he was a fake from the beginning, and was just toying with him. Which meant that Zell probably wasn't in any condition to fight, and was definitely not drawing healing power from the well. Sighing loudly, Thistle dropped the illusion spell, revealing his worried smile.
"Blast. I can't keep up with this." He muttered, before meeting Zell's eyes. "Fancy seeing you here, huh?" The monk taunted, muscles tensed.

"I knew it." The general sneered even while a low growl rumbled in his chest. He was pleased about winning the little mind game, however what it meant for him....he wasn't yet sure. "You're a fool for even trying to impersonate Destael."
Clenching his hands into fist his core temperature started rising as a defense mechanism towards the danger. He didn't want this to come to a fight...so perhaps democracy was the best answer. "Even after your near death here you still come back? What is it that so drives you to return?"
Turning his single glowering golden eye on the scout he spoke again. "And you. Before, I chalked your ignorance and stupidity towards your young age. But I'm now having a hard time believing even a child can be so stupid." She was walking a thin line, playing both realms and both sides of the war like she was. It didn't work like that. "And don't think I've forgotten your little attack on me last time. Try it again and I'll fry you."

Starfire watched Thistle go back to his normal looking self, she rolled her eyes at him but as soon as Zell started to run his mouth again anger rose inside of her. She glared at him as tears began to well up in her eyes. "You sir, need to shut your mouth!" She exclaimed while throwing the book at him. She hated him but honestly she knew he was right.
Starfire pulled out a sword from her belt and held the tip at his throat. "I hate you! Alright! Destael never said a word about you! At all! I may be young but I'm smarter than you think, i've made mistakes all my life, i've screwed up a lot, but you know what, i'm fixing things one step at a time and thats all a person can dois pick them selves up and learn but I don't need you pointing them out every god damn time i see you! So, you can either keep your big mouth shut or I slit your god damn throat!" Her voice was harsh and strong.
It was bad enough that she had to deal with Thistle on the human plane but now this. All her life theres been one person who's made her stronger but theres always a person who's torn her down. At this point, Star felt strong, like she could pierce this sword right through his throat. But there was a piece of her that wanted time to go back to when someone said something about her that she could go to her Father and he'd hold her while she cried.

Nodding in approval of Starfire's words, he felt a glimmer of respect for the girl. As he dismantled the armor he was wearing, Thistle spoke to Starfire, eyes on the straps and buckles he was fiddling with.
"Easy, Star. He's not worth the effort. Mainly because he poses zero threat to us." He glanced up at Zell, smirking, before resuming his work.
"Think about it. Here we are, a Destael impostor and dubious half demon, sneaking into the source of the power for the whole army. And we're not dead? He's clearly too injured to fight anybody, if he ran from a battle with demons who I am willing to wager are not nearly as powerful as he is."

The general raised his head, setting his jaw, when he felt the tip of the cold steel at his throat. A growl rumbled in his chest as his blood began to run hot, superheated. Fire flickered in his single showing eye, shimmering with the hidden flames. "Let us...." He spoke slowly, raising his hands slightly, palms open. "Remember who attacked first when we met in the throne room."
"But if it's a continuation of our fight, I would oblige." He narrowed his eyes at the man. "But...and I find this interesting. You ask me why you're not dead....when it was you who attacked first to begin with....So why not attack me now? Perhaps you're the one who's hesitant?" It was a bluff....mostly.
Light on his feet, he hopped backwards and away from the blade, allowing his open palms to then burst into flames. Sweat began beading on his forehead. Not from the heat of his power, but already from the exertion of using it.

Starfire listened to Thistle and took a step back and lowered the blade but at the same time Zell had taken a step back and started to create a flame with his hand. Star watched, curious if he would actually do anything, but he looked weak. Calmly she looked at Thistle, she didn't panic about something that wasn't worth panicing about. "There's no need to fight. If you were going to fight you already would have struck. If you want to fight, we fight." She said turning back to Zell, his eyes glowing, it didn't scare her as much as it did the first time. She gripped the handle of the blade tighter, ready to fight but she knew she was weak when it came to her fighting with a sword.
