Public Knowledge about the Building: Fort MacNeil is independent of Wildgard but lately has raised a fair amount goodwill in Wildgard by taking in travelers and innocents during an attack or other threat to the city. Recently the fort's tavern, the Redwall Tavern, has become a favorite meeting place, and is frequented by many of the people in Wildgard.
History of the Building: Constructed by Lord Gavin MacNeil and his allies to protect and house himself, and his men, the fort quickly became a major hub of the military side of Wildgard. When built using Dwarven construction techniques it contained only a keep, a tower and a few military buildings, but has since come to contain a library, a tavern, a a market and other civilian buildings. After the first attack on the fort its defenses were quickly upgraded significantly and has since seen the defeat of several different attackers. Thanks to its reputation of being a well protected and safe location, the fort has become home to a significant civilian population, who bring trade and further renown to the fort. The construction of the keep's tower was so impressive and quick due to its Dwarven origins, a smaller version of it became the standard tower used at all of the Red Cohort's outposts throughout the land.
Where Did you get the Materials: The expertise and the materials (Stone, Steel, Etc.) used in the construction of the fort's Military buildings were gained roughly half a year ago from an expedition that lead to the rediscovery of the lost Dwarven kingdom of Altarnador.
