Standing in front of the Redwall Tavern, located close to the heart of the city within the walls of Fort MacNiel, Idina tugged a little nervously at the clasps of her cloak. True, she was in the company of a friend here - such a wonderful a friend could do! - but even so, she had never stepped into a tavern she did not intend to seek shelter for a night or two in. Now, Thea had offered to bring her inside and buy her a drink. Another new experience: she had never drunk within a tavern, discounting water from her own gourd... A click sounded, and she moved her other hand up as well to reclasp her cloak; she hadn't even been aware of her hand fiddling with the clasp. She turned her head to bring Thea back into her line of sight. "I'm not too sure, honestly, what you intend to do..." she confessed, her voice catching only once. "Sh... shall we go in?"

(Sweet Fuck I haven't rped in a forum in three years...)
Lila peered out from behind the Idina and Thea to glance over suspiciously at the Tavern. She had never really been near any sort of drinking establishment in the past, much less actually stepping foot in one, preferring to stay far away from the inhabitants of such places. Her ears flicked back and forth, shuffling her feet in the dirt. On one hand, she wanted to run back to the Fort and curl up in the grass, but on the other hand...well this could be interesting at the very least. Lila's gaze shifted over to Idina when she spoke, nodding her head in agreement. "It would miss the point to just stand and stare at the walls, yeah?" She said in the general direction of the ground.

Idina chuckled, her shoulders drawing closer to her head as she did. "I suppose it would," she admitted, turning her head to face Lila as she responded. Keeping her eyes on the Kintu's face a moment longer than her words lasted, she inhaled deeply and turned again to face the tavern as her breath came out. "Let's see what we can do, shall we?" Even though she said that, she stood a few more seconds, among the two of them, before acting at all. When she did, however, she made a motion as though wanting to take them both by the wrist to lead them inside, then paused again. The gesture, she figured made her seem almost as though she had more experience than both of them with taverns; while she assumed that might be true in the case of Lila, she had no presumptions to go off of for Thea's case... The blonde drew both hands back to her sides again, though kept them outside her cloak.

"Lets go in? Shall we?" Thea said, walking forward into the forts tavern. She was happy Lila had joined them, she could almost feel Idina's spirits brighten even more then they already were. As well Thea liked the idea of getting to know the Kintu better.
As they walked into the tavern a wall of noise and the sent of ale hit her in the face. It was slightly unpleasant, but not enough to make Thea leave. This was one of the favoured locations for many of the people of the fort. Thea walked up to the wooden counter and ordered a cup of watered down wine, then turned to Idina and Lila. "What will you two be having, its on me," she smiled.

Grateful to follow someone into the tavern instead of leading the way herself, Idina fell into step behind Thea; between her and the caribou. The noise from inside the tavern hit her like a wall. Her surprise in itself startled her. She used to seek shelter in night-places such as these when she came upon a new town, but it was as though her insofar brief time at Wildgard had made her grow un-used to the noise... The Healer had half a mind to draw the hood of her cloak up, but decided against it so she wouldn't grow too hot. Thea's question then made her start again. "Eh?" she squeaked, not having expected to be addressed. "Oh. Um..." In truth, she didn't really have any idea as to what she wanted. With a quick breath, she met Thea's eyes and brought her voice down; then: "Is there anything... Are there any drinks here without alcohol?"

Watching from a distance was something Sarea was used to all her life. She'd watched from a distance as people spoke of politics and war, she'd watched bards play from a distance as she was afraid of large crowds.
She watched three girls enter the tavern from a distance.
The young bard had ventured to the Fort to speak to the Lord about opening her Bard's School in the walls of the Fort, as no one else in Wildgard seemed ready to give up more land. But the Bard was persistent, as she truly wanted for all of Wildgard's peoples to learn more of and enjoy music.
Maybe these girls would want a bard for their night out? Maybe they were like Sarea, and female entertainment was more enjoyable.
The elf kept watching until realizing that one of the three girls was Idina Doc, whom she'd ordered a flower bouquet from. Rubbing her hand along the petals on her upper arm under her cloak, Sarea smiled. The flowers were perfect to never forget the pain she'd gone through.

The bartender handed Idina a mug full of steaming hot tea, looking dissatisfied as Thea dropped a few coins on to the counter. "And another for our friend Lila please," Thea said as politely as she could. The bartender glared at her but soon handed Lila the other cup.
Thea then led to a table in the corner of the loud busy tavern, trying not to attract much attention. She sat down, indicating for the others to follow. "So, now that we all have something to drink, tell me the news." She smiled and sipped her wine.

Somewhat awkwardly, Idina bunched some of the fabric of her cloak around her fingers, so as not to burn herself, before taking the mug of tea with a respectful nod to the bartender. She held the cup just under her face as she followed Thea across the tavern and took a seat facing her. Reaching into the pouch hooked to her belt, she extracted a few dried apple blossom petals - usually fresh petals could be used as a balm over a scabbing wound, but dried petals served to add a slightly sweet flavour to tea, among other things. She broke the petals up between three fingers and sprinkled them into her drink, blowing onto it to mix it as well as cool it down.
She looked up when Thea spoke, her own lips curing into a little smile in mirror to her. "News on what?" she asked, sitting up with her hands on the table. "I don't have much, but I might have something to interest you!"

The tavern was dimly lit and felt damp and sweaty. Around the place, man drunken men and women swung about taking large gulps of their drinks as alcohol poured down their chest. Off in the corner, Idina and a few of her friends were sharing drinks and stories at a table, smiling at one another like old friends. Sarea felt the urge to join them, but deemed it intrusive at last and remained in the doorway.
She didn't come to her senses until a man in a green leather tunic with a thick grey beard turned his chair to the girl and raised his clay mug with a toothy smile.
"Are you a bard, girl?" He asked aloud, his friends smiling in the background. Sarea looked behind her, fully expecting him to be talking to someone else, before looking back to him and shyly nodding. What am I doing? I don't have to be shy! She told herself mentally.
In response to the man's inquiry, the elf removed her flute from her bag and smiled. "I know many a song from my travels, both sung and played. What would you like to hear?"
Another man-one with his thick blonde hair tied back in three braids to match his beard and a grey cloak resting against his scaled armour-stood up and looked down at the girl. "A soft lament, perhaps?" He suggested, to which the other drinkers agreed rowdily.
Sarea put her best performance face on and lifted the flute to her lip, a small smirk forming in the side of her mouth, before she began on a beautifully tuned E note for the drinkers in the bar.

Idina blew a couple more times across the surface of her drink, looking at each of her companions in turn as she did. Her brown eyes caught Lila's large, dark caribou gaze for a second; in spite if herself, she quickly looked away. Setting her tea down to steep for a minute or so, the blonde inhaled deeply and brought a smile to her lips as she tried looking back at the Kinto, but she found that her attentions were now elsewhere. A little flustered, she scanned her surroundings to cover for her blunder.
A bittersweet melody found its way to her ears, and for a moment or so Idina forgot almost everything else, her mind trying to both place the tune to a name and place the music to a musician. She found her musician: a familiar figure that the healer hadn't been expecting to see here. She wasn't sure whether Sarea could see her, or if she was looking her way at all - she knew musicians could get lost easily in their playing - but she smiled towards the elf, a warm, awe-filled, friendly grin.
Figuring it best not to interrupt an artist at work, she turned back in her chair and straightened her cloak. Realization crossed her mind: with a bit of a tremble to her voice, she faced the Druid and managed to say "I'm sorry, Thea, did I miss something you said?"

"No, not at all," Thea whispered. She had been mesmerized by the music of the beautiful bard. The song she sang, Thea had heard before in her youth. It reminded her of times that had past, times that would never return. Idina's comment had brought her back down to earth. Thea waited until the music had ended before addressing Idina and Lila again. "So, how are things going between you?" She asked with a smile.

(Sup hi I'm actually posting for once XD)
Lila startled at Thea's question, snapping her eyes up from the surface of her drink. One ear twitched towards the lovely music, but her attention was focused on Thea for the time being. She tilted her head slightly, fingers circling the rim of her mug as she thought over the question. "I'd say things are going fine, yeah?" Lila responded quietly, going back to staring down her drink, gently prodding at the liquid surface, glancing quickly at Idina out of the corner of her eye.

((Yay Tess!))
Idina's shoulders relaxed when she learned she hasn't accidentally ignored Thea, but her face grew warm when she heard her question. Not saying anything right away, she looked back to Lila, who surprised the blonde by meeting her eyes. She chucked timidly, teeth showing stark white against her pink cheek when she smiled. The concept of - oh, what's the word? - affection was not new to her, but the idea of feeling it herself sure was, let alone having it felt for her! But she figured she'd get used to it, all in due time.
She nodded, smiling genuinely at Lila for a few moments before looking back to Thea again. "I'd like to think so, now that I've finally said something!"
