He looked into her eyes his gambit spent, obviously he'd underestimated this woman. He gave a nod shifting a bit as he got comfortable against the tree "He attacked the girl who was there." He informed her simply "I didn't wish to leave remains so I did what came natural and began to finish off the job." He shook his head. Moving his hand up he moved it through his hair, he was remarkably calm for someone who had a dagger pressed up to his throat, but he'd already said his peace long before this was just fate catching up on him.
"You wish for a greater motive then that I don't have one, I saw a woman in trouble my instincts kicked in and I attacked, your friend was a monster who tried to harm one of the basilica." He said blatantly, not fidgeting his eyes looking into hers, he wasn't exactly lying, but it wasn't the truth, at least he didn't know as much. He'd claim the murder take the fall for Rook, but he wouldn't hide behind the facade of being a monster anymore, he didn't have to here. "Well? You going to kill me for protecting a human? Or you gonna kill me for being a mut?"

To his words ashen thought for a moment, until he taunted her at the end. Letting out a battle cry she removed her hand from his neck withdrew her other dagger she kept on her back and trusted her dagger forward. Digging it deep inside the flesh of the tree beside his head.
She took a step back after, leaving the man pinned to the tree by the dagger in his shoulder.
"You...and that woman...have damned me...to hell....I don't know what Dreth was doing...but you BOTH have damned me....I'm now DEAD thanks to you BOTH...and...I'm not even allowed....to take back what I need! To settle my bloodlust....because it was self defence...." Ashen paused with breath though out her statement. She couldn't breath she need dreth. When he was around the curse has nearly to no affect. But now? Who would stop it? Soon she would kill agian...she could feel it brewing inside her. She wouldn't and couldn't satisfy her craving by killing this man or rook. Because they where ony doing what was natural, self preservation.
ashen ran her hands though her hair still trying to remember how to breath. After a moment, she walked back to the man removing the dagger beside his head. Then the one from his shoulder, letting him support himself. She removed a small package of healing herbs from her back pocket shoving it into his hand. Without a words she turned and began to walk back to where she remembered rook was laying.
As she walked, the mans blood still dropped from her drawn daggers. The crimson liquid shimmering in the moonlight, mimicking ashen's furious eyes.

Avail watched the woman leave breathing out he felt the sting of his new wound his eyes closed as he just leaned against the tree, letting out a slow breath before standing up again shifting back into his beast form he rushed to return to the church feeling he would be needed at the Basilica before long. As he traveled he felt his wound healing not from the herbs but rather from his own natural abilities of being a lycan. Perhaps it was for the best that she hate him, but unfortunately he'd doomed Rook to the same fate, and as such he'd need to protect her as well, keep an ever vigilant eye on Rook for her own good.
Getting closer to the church he found his usual spot untouched, he shifted back into human form and sat down upon it, laying down he looked up at the sky, at the stars he knew this temperary peace would soon fade and he'd be cast into yet another screaming match with that woman but for now he could just breath enjoy the few seconds he had left looking up at the stars.

Ashen returned to where rook was after just walking, only she wasn't there. Sniffing the air she pinpointed her location. She walked only to find her body aching. "Oh of course... The church...." Ashen grumbled. Her curse made it feel like she was being ripped apart near holy ground...let alone on it.
However it was a rare event today ashen didn't seem to care about pain. She continued to march straight for rooks scent. "ROOK!!! COME OUT NOW!!!" Ashen shouted, blades still drawn. Ashen readied herself, if rook didn't come out she would go In and get her.

Rook had managed to gather her clothes together, and began to slip them on underneath the cloak after she cleaned herself up. A pair of loose black pants were pulled up to her waist, and quickly making sure she was alone, she dropped the cloak and slipped on a short black shirt, exposing a bit of her stomach as her summer clothes once did. She had hid the bloodstained clothing in a pile to be burned, as well as the sheath for her sword, which was truly a pity to lose. The sword itself was easy to clean off, and for safekeeping, she placed it in Thistle's collection of assorted weapons. She would deal with his reaction later, whatever it was going to be. At least that was something she could survive. The only thing she had attempted to clean was her vest, which was one of her first thieved items. While that wasn't exactly the typical sentiment that items held to people, she was rather fond of it and the silver dragon that was stitched above the left breast pocket.
She had kept her own cloak in the Basilica, so she threw that on rather than donning the garment that didn't belong to her. While neatly folding up Ashen's cloak, Rook also remembered - she still had possession of Ashen's sword from winter, when the curse was overtaking her. Quickly, she retrieved it, and placed it on top of the clothing. Anxiety began to well up in her. There was something else that she remembered.
Ashen had said that Drethiel had helped her. But how? He clearly didn't remove the curse, but did something about him quell it? It was a hard theory to believe. Perhaps she would ask the kinto about it. I very well could have gotten rid of what was keeping her from being overtaken. Rook gulped. But Drethiel would be back, wouldn't he? For Ashen, that might be the best thing at the moment, though for her, it felt like a death sentence. She never thought that creature would produce such mixed feelings in her, especially after she "murdered" him. For good reason.
She let her thoughts drain from her, and found herself sitting down in front of Ashen's belongings. There was a high chance that she would show up tonight, and Rook couldn't bring herself to run. Hopefully if she showed enough respect, Ashen wouldn't suspect her as the origin of the carnage... but her hatred for Drethiel was well known, and she had a feeling that things weren't going to go as smooth as she hoped they would. Gathering my courage could be a good first step. I've run from consequence long enough, perhaps now is the time that I'm meant to receive it. She thought to herself.

Aggravation, Hatred, Bloodlust... brewed within her as she stared down the Church doors. "pain cant kill me..."she muttered. taking slowly steps forward the curse full enveloped her face now and began to creep down the rest of her body. she was falling into a now Familiar abyss as she let her anger win, and for some reason...she liked it she liked being lost in the Dark. lost in her minds eyes of envisions of Blood, and bodies. the thought excited her.
getting closer and closer to the church doors, Ashen tried her best not to scream in pain as steam vented from her flesh. Growling as Hissing as a panther does she continued her steps. she wasn't going to last much longer with the pain. Ashen could feel the curse affect her vision as she took every slow, agonizing and straining step. blood seeping from the bottom of the door, creating a river for her to trudge through. shrieks and maniacal laugher echoed all around her. "they...are not...real" she mutters as images of floating skulls ablaze in green and blue flame began to circle the church.
steam plumed off of Ashen at this point, as she let out a cry in pain placing her hand on the door. She was using the curse to push though to get this far, using her Hatred...one of the things the Cruse fed off of. Ashen began to open the door, Kicking it open the rest of the way making a large Crashing sound. Marching though the Pain she followed the Strongest Scent of Rook, until reaching her room. the steam trailing where she walked, Ashen now stood behind Rook, images flashed though her mind of Slaughtering her. Draping her insides all though out the church like decorations. she Smirked at the thought, only to question herself on why she Smiled.
"YoU....." she Whispered as she Grabbed rooks shirt, and Began to drag Rook out of the Basilica and out of Crush. no matter if she Resisted or not. Walking Staight to the next building away from the church, throwing Rook onto the wall. Crackles spidering from where Rooks body made contact with the stone wall. Ashen looked down at her, the moon Shadowing her features as she kept her Battle ready gaze locked on rook. her Eyes no longer Glowing Jade from the moonlight, but Black...and soulless.
"yOu, OnLy HaVe OnE mOmMeNt To SpEaK, bEfOrE I KiLl YoU. mAkE YoUr WoRdS cOuNt, ThEy MaY bE yOuR lAsT." Ashen words laced with Hate as she Growled while she spoke. Clenching her Dagger in her hand, Avials blood still wet on it. "GiVe Me A rEaSoN nOt To KiLl YoU AfTeR yOu DaMnEd Me To HeLl By KiLlInG hIm." Ashens words where shaky as she still growled. "TeLl Me WhAt HaPpEnEd, WiLl I sTiLl DeCiDe YoU dRaW bReAtH" her last words where calmer as she slowly bent down, face to face with rook. Her Black eyes locking with Rook. she could feel trembling in her hand as she held rooks face, she couldn't tell if it was her own... or Rooks "SpEaK" she whispered nearly nose to nose with rook at this point. she wanted nothing more then to kill Rook, however...she needed answers. "TrUtH, dId YoU KiLl DrEtH iN SeLf DeFeNcE" Ashen Casted still holding onto her Chin, her nails digging in as she watched her magic swirl to Rooks mouth.

There was no amount of mental preparation that could have readied Rook for what happened next. Drethiel's manipulation was one thing. This was straight up horrifying. She let out a startled noise when she heard the Church door bust open, and soon enough she felt a sharp tug on her clothing. Choking slightly, she made a gurgling, gasping sound when Ashen ripped her violently out of the Basilica. As soon as she was thrown against the wall of the other building, she was terribly winded.
Empty black eyes bore into hers. I'm going to die. This is it. She's going to kill me. Tears that had welled up from pain upon impact spilled down her cheeks as she caught her breath, wheezing to make any legible words. She was shaking, anticipating the worst. Please, please, PLEASE give me a chance to talk!
"I-ll tell y-ou everything, I swear, Ashe-" Rook was cut off by the truth spell. Her mouth hung open for a moment, then clearly and calmly, she spoke.
"Drethiel did not attack me physically, it was not purely self defense." Her tears blurred her vision now. She didn't want to see the swirling black marks, or the grip on the bloody dagger that would surely soon slice her flesh. Fearing the consequences of her answer, she shrieked out what she had wanted to say to clarify as best as she could.
"HE WAS THE ONE WHO APPROACHED ME! I WAS DOING FINE! IT'S HIS FAULT, HE PROVOKED ME, HE MANIPULATED ME FROM AFAR, HE PULLED MY STRINGS AND I-" She let out a sob. "I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I-I LET IT HAPPEN! I LET MYSELF ATTACK HIM. I REVELED IN IT, EVEN, I TOOK MY REVENGE!" She blinked hard and stared up into Ashen's black eyes.
"YOU MORE THAN ANYONE SHOULD KNOW HOW THAT FEELS!" Rook screamed into her face. She was at the end of her wits, and shook her head free from Ashen's grip in a final act of defiance. Her voice cracked when she spoke up again. "H-e's not dead, Ashen... there's no way I could have killed him. I don't have any tricks up my sleeve... I essentially butchered a vacant corpse." She sniffled, and winced in pain, her body throbbing from being thrown against the wall. She could technically heal herself, but she wasn't sure if she would even be allowed the chance. "Drethiel will be back whether I like it or not. I know this..." Her voice was small and desperate.
"P-please spare me. If you don't end my life, I've a feeling he will anyway once he returns..." Or worse. "Please..." She hung her head and waited for the decision to be made.

"WhY wOuLd I sPaRe YoU? DoN't YoU sEe?" Ashen grabbed rooks face again this time letting her claws hold her chin. her other hand pointing at the marks. "LOOK AT THEM!!!" She shouted in a low growling tone.
"BeCaUsE...oF yOuR PATETICE wEaKnEsS, i GeT tO sEe HeLl... ThE sKy Is ReD, tHe BuIlDiNgS, mAdE oF oOzInG fLeSh As ThE rOaDs FlOoD wItH bLoOd, PuSs, AnD dIsEaSe!" Ashen hissed, As her head jerked to the side for a moment. then snapping back forward to Rook as she continued to hold her chin tighter.
"I hEaR...sCrEaMs, Of ThE PeOpLe I kIlLeD...lOnG lOnG aGo, LaUgHtEr...FrOm ThE oNe WhO cUrSeD mE...AnD dO yOu KnOw WhO sIlEnCeD tHaT? dO yOu KnOw WhO wAs KeEpInG mE sAnE? dO yOu KnOw WhO wAs KeEpInG iNnOcEnT pEoPlE aLiVe?.... "YoU, KiLlEd...ThE oNlY pErSoN kEePiNg WiLdGaRd FrOm My OlD aSsAsSiN wAyS" she said with a cruel purr as she slowly backed up only enough to lock eyes with her 'victim'. Ashen looked at Rook, seeing her crying, helpless. it made her...happy?
Ashen began to laugh. continuing to laugh she grabbed rook by the shirt again pushing her hard against the wall with one hand. the wall cracking more. "HoW MuCh dOeS YoUr lIfE MeAn tO YoU I WoNdEr? WhAt aRe yOu wIlLiNg tO Do fOr iT?"Ashen chuckled as she questioned Rook. Letting her Claws dig into Rooks chest as she held her up from the ground, making sure her feet didn't touch the ground. Letting her wings out and stretched in her Human form to look more intimating she leaned in to Rook once more. "I WaNt yOu tO BeG FoR YoUr lIfE LiKe tHe sHiT YoU ArE. iF I DoN'T ApPrOvE....yOu dIe, SiMpLe aS ThAt."

Now held up higher, Rook screamed as the claws dug into her skin. They drew blood, and she could feel it flowing warmly over her body. Through the additional pain, Rook managed a surprisingly sober thought - what made Ashen think that hell had a set definition? She grit her teeth, and grabbed onto Ashen's arms, trying to pry them away but failing. "Are you sure... that's you talking?" Rook questioned, seeing if she could chip away at the curse. "Because I know this isn't the Ash-en.. that I met. That I talked to." Rook swallowed. She was getting tired. Would it be easier to just give in, and become a casualty?
"I don't care about your hell. I've been through my own. So, fine. Get it over with. I'll meet you there." She scowled at the woman in front of her. "You don't thirst for blood. Your curse does." Her tears had dried on her face, leaving them feeling sticky and cold. "I was an innocent person once. Drethiel took away any chance I had at that. He ruined me, and I've been trying to build myself a foundation again. He denied me that, so I denied him his body. He can go find another one for all I care. It's not like I can do anything anyway." She took a gasping breath, feeling the blade of the dagger press into the skin of her throat. "My life apparently didn't mean much to him, but it means something to me. I wanted...the chance th-that I never got to have... all I wanted..." She coughed, and winced at the sharp pain at her throat, letting out a whimper. Even now, she was helpless. There's not even room to reason with her. It's a lost cause.
"What must I do in order to have the right to live?" She whispered hoarsely. Her own life was no longer in her hands, and she accepted it with defeat.

Rooks words didn't affect ashen physical appearance much. However she felt something clawing at her on the inside. She pulled rook off the wall only the slam her twice back in place. Growling and snaring at her. Moving the dagger to rooks throat as she continued to growl.
As she death glared rook ,she felt something move on her cheek. Loosening her grip on rook enough for her feet to stay on the ground. Removing her hand from rook to touch her cheek she looked at her finger tips. Puzzled she looked at the clear liquid of her tears.
'Why am I crying?!' She scolded herself. Looking back at rook, almost accusing her with her looks. Making her hand straight she struck rook with a back head strong enough to send her flying. Looking down at her with a just the tiniest slightest hint of fear. 'You know damn well why we are crying, leave her alone!!!' Ashen voice echoed in her head.
"CoMe nEaR Me aGiAn...aNd i wIlL EnD YoU, sTuPiD GiRl."Ashen turned in her heel as she began to walk away.

Rook's eyes widened slightly at Ashen's tears, but it was brief - soon, she felt her back crash into the wall again, heard the cracking, and screamed in pain. "ASHEN, PLEASE!" Was the cry that followed the scream. She choked on her own sobs now, and before she knew it, the pain seared into her cheek. Her body tumbled on the ground, flopping this way and that until it came to a halt, on her stomach. She saw Avail in the distance, and reached out to him shakily. Help me. She groaned inwardly, keeping her focus on breathing. Everything hurt. Tears burned, bones felt broken... she felt like she was going to fall apart. Once again, weak and fragile. Ashen's curse and rage was terrifying, and there was no doubt in Rook's mind that she could have ended her right there. Get me into the church. Someone should be able to heal me there. Speaking with one's eyes didn't always get the message across, but Rook hoped that Avail would come to her side no matter if her saw her expression or not.

Avail had watched the entire affair and had Ashen not stopped he was willing to rend her head from her body. Walking over towards the wounded friend he leaned down picking her up with his jaw he hoisted her up onto his back walking back towards the church, growling to himself as he walked, he realized she wouldn't be able to understand but he needed his words out, 'You will learn to fight if it takes me to my last breath pup.' His long wolf form lumbered into the church moving towards the middle he looked for someone to help her, anyone, as he himself wasn't exactly adept at healing someone who wasn't one of his own kin.
Avail laid Rook down and sat beside her beginning to howl, either Nabbi would come from understanding his words or Thistle to tell him to silence himself, he continued to howl his head held back letting the sound carry through the church and its thin walls, his form sat protectively beside Rook. He doubted this would be the last time something like this happened so he would have to prepare for the next hunt.
