"a ring? Dreth I couldn't ask for that. I Don't deserve Such kindness. I can beat this curse, I promise. I offer a family and a Place because I wish for nothing more then to protect you and grow with you. all I ask is you don't hurt my kin or myself this really is to much. I was overtaken yes but..." her words trailed off she was actually uncertain about being able to control it. it had been many moon sense she slept well. with everything happening, she had been hearing...voices. familiar voices that she couldn't put her paw on.
"this is to much Dreth, its letting you to much for someone like me."

"Ashen, I'm being serious, and therefore you should be serious about it too." Drethiel's face grew perplexed. "Trust me. This will do you good, and tame the curse. It's not a fix - it's more like a bandage. But it should be able to keep you afloat in sanity." He sighed, and put two fingers to her mouth, keeping it shut. His icy eyes bore into hers - a type of intensity that he hadn't shown for a while now. "So long as you give me a place to retreat, and save any human souls for me, while not turning me in to people who have it out for me - I'll do what benefits you as well."
He removed his fingers and sat up straight. "While this may be uncommon for me to do, given the nature of my actions for most of my time on this plane, I am still an angel. Give me that at least." He laughed, almost sarcastically. "It seems I've been getting rather soft lately. But I suppose that's par for the course with all this settling, and family stuff..." He shook his head lightly. It was certainly taking some getting used to. He wasn't used to limitations of any kind - he was exiled many a century ago. But straying from his usual way of going about things had all started when he took control of Rook, and he decided to let it take him where it would. A change was stirring within him, and perhaps it was for the better. If he could walk away from Wildgard with his control over souls enhanced, he would be pleased.
"You should probably get some sleep, Ashen. It's been a rough night for you. I'll stay out here for a while and enjoy the weather while I can." He reached out and ruffled her hair a little, as a sign of affection. Ashen, to be fair, had offered him more acceptance than the heavens above and the fires below ever did.

Ashen couldn't help but keep silent as Dreth spoke. the sincerity in his voice struck her without a shadow of a doubt that Drethiel truly wanted to help her. even if it was only temporary. how was she to deny someone that wanted to help someone who was lost along there path, after all it was what she did for so many others, maybe she did need help.
"thank you Dreth." she managed barely a whisper. she felt strange, she was happy. happy that someone finally wanted to help her not because they felt the need to repay her but because they felt the same as she did. that in this forsaken world, you simply wanted to help someone because of who they where. she felt so happy that she found someone who was like her. someone with a Darkened past, finally finding the right path to walk on. she even couldn't help but Giggle as Dreth ruffled her hair. Normally she never let anyone touch it, but for Dreth she would make an exception.
as Ashen went to stand she reached up and held dreth chin with an open hand. her Fingers as frozen as his skin. "thank you Dreth, you have no idea what this means to me. you will forever have an ally, I promise you will never walk alone again." she Leaned up after her words, placing her lips gentle on Dreths forehead. her lips where warm against his flesh. also kissing ice itself. when she moved back she smiled at him.
"ill take your advice, ill try to get some sleep tonight. I don't know how the nightmares will fare with me. I hope I see you in the morning Dreth, good night" she stood upright as she talked. moving her cold body toward the house. she looked back at him for a moment, smiling. then continuing back. before stepping inside she could help but shout "be safe" before she walked in. it was something she told Fallen, Allynn and her mother when she wasn't around them.

Strangely, though Drethiel had made his rounds for many a year, Ashen's simple act of care affected him greatly. It was an odd feeling, slightly unpleasant due to the rush of heat spreading out from his forehead... but also because he didn't feel repulsed by the warmth this time. Though he had to find his balance immediately after her kiss, all he had to do was lift his hand to his forehead to acclimatize once again. "Goodnight." He called out to her as she approached the door.
Tonight, he would take to the treetops, and admire the nighttime City of Wildgard from a safe distance while letting the cool flow of wind shroud him like a cloak.
