Jay wondered around this strange place. He was far from home... at least what use to be home. Jay is a sixteen year old boy who was quite different then the others he had been surrounded by a a child. While he looked like any other teen being 5'11" with brown hair and ice blue eyes he was very different. You see he had a tendecy of switching into different animals, his favourite being a timber wolf. As a result of being different his village had driven him out, his parents helping. He didn't understand what did he do to be driven out. Why didn't his parents stop it? did they not love him like they loved his siblings? As he thought he paced around and eventually bumped into a women. He looked up absolutely terrified

Ashen crossed armed and crossed legged in high tree, watching as she always did. movement caught her attention. watching as a teen walked near her. something seemed off about him. withdrew, quite. he reminded him of her when she was but a kitten who lost her mother to the fates. uncrossing her arms she leaned to watch him, as she did the trees bark made a slight cracking noise, though she wasn't concerned, he didn't seem to have weapons.

Having just been following the now familiar paths to the bardshrine, Aalis wasn't paying quite enough attention to her surroundings. Right at a fork in the road, the relatively short feline kinto at 5'3" was suddenly dwarfed by the young boy she'd just run into. Stumbling back a few steps with a small yowl at the back of her throat, she looked up at the boy's face. He seemed rather disoriented and lost.
"Ahh! Oh, I'm very sorry! I didn't see you there." Aalis beamed a quick smile up at the stranger, with curiosity in her eyes. The feline was in a rather good mood, which was probably mostly due to Guile again being in her company back at the tavern, and the the slight bit of alcohol that was flowing through her veins. Though she could still walk and talk in relatively straight lines, her thoughts and her mood jumped ahead of her self when under the influence.

Jay scrambles back at the cracking sound from the trees combined with the sound of the strangers voice. Every time he would be spoken to in his village he was being yelled at and called a freak. Not knowing how to respond to the strange lady in front of him he shifts, his only instinct being to run, he looks quickly at the lady backing up slowly before turning away and running.

Ashen's eye narrowed. why did the pup run? maybe she should follow. he was a youth after all, she wouldnt be doing her job if she didnt offer help. with grace and speed she lept from the top of the tree chasing after him in the brush. staying in feral form. whinceing in pain when her wings hit the branches. she only hoped she could keep up with him, he was fast.

Furrowing her eyebrows, Aalis could barely follow the boy with her gaze as he bolted. "Oh, well.. I- Sorry?" her voice called after him, losing its strength halfway through speaking. Before she could really mull through why he might have run off, a dark streak came down from above, blocking out the light for a split second. The feline stumbled back, wide-eyed and startled. A low hiss escaped her mouth, before it could do any good, both figures were gone, and she was left alone in the silence of the forest. For a second, she had the urge to follow, but decided instead to continue on her way to the bard shine. She continued walking, one hand absentmindedly fingering the leather notebook in her bag.

Jay kept running until he reached yet another fork in the road. Thinking he was safe he stopped and shifted back to his human form to take a breather. he hadn't heard anyone following him but it might be possible that there is someone. He looked around his surroundings and when he didn't see anything he sat down. That lady he had ran into seemed very feline. Was there a chance there a chance there's oth- no he couldn't think like that. Even if there's others like him he couldn't think like that. No one was going to accept him not when his own family couldn't. He pulled his legs closer to his body and sat there like that, emptying his head.

Ashen watched him sit there and huddle like some broken soul. What was with all these children now a days. " you know running isn't going to help you little one." She said calmly from behind him. "I'm not here to hurt you. If need be I'll rid myself of my weapons, I would simply like to speak with you." She said so very gently, she didn't want to panic him further. Though it seems that would be a hard task. No matter, she could run for some time before getting tired.

Jay looked up at the stranger quickly. As he was a mute after what he went through in the village he didn't know how to respond, how to tell her she could talk. He took a moment to think before pointing at her weapons and then the ground. he didn't know why but for some reason he felt like he could trust the woman.

"Oh? A mute I see" she smiled as she removed he weapons and tossed them aside close to the boy. She then sat where she stood, to be at then same level if not lower. "Hmm this is going to be tricky if you can't speak, I'll try to keep my questions as a yes or no. So let's see hmmm " place only a fist on her knee as she rubbed her other hand in her chin "do you have any family? They must be worried about you?"

Jay looks down at the question. How could he tell her that his parents helped to drive him out of their village? instead of trying to explain the story he held up one finger and nodded the two finger and shook his head.

Ashen was puzzled for a moment, but then realized she had asked to questions. " you have a family but they Arnt worried? Now that's not right. Does that make you an orphan?"

Jay shrugs. he pointed at himself then made punching movement then using his fingers to try and tell her he ran. he didn't know how to tell her of the abuse

"Oh...I see..." Her words laced with understanding and sadness, he was hurt by his parents and he ran away. "You have been on the run for a while? Why did you run from that maiden earlier?"

Jay looked thoughtful for a while. How long had he been on the run? all his days seemed to blend into one big blur. He holds up one finger again and nods. Before he held up the second one he thought of how to explain that he was scared. he had been thinking for a while before he remembered what scared was in sign language and did that.
