She watched the dark man as left the table and made his way to the bar. As he waited she saw him study her for a moment. was that a flash of red she saw under the cowl? she rid her mind of the thought. it must have been a trick of the light, there was no living creature that she knew of with red eyes.
downing her third glass of wine her curiosity finally got the better of her, she weaved her way gracefully through the tavern smiling at the other patrons as she passed them. when she reached the table she slowed, unsure how to proceed, it had been a long time since she had begun a conversation with someone that did not involve her singing or dancing. it had been a very long time.
"hello," she said cheerfully "i'm sorry to bother you both, but you just look too adorable to leave alone!"
she glanced between the two of them hoping that she hadnt offended them. when her eyes locked onto the face of the man she stared for a moment, completely perplexed. 'black skin? how strange.'
"where are you both from?"

Ashen was looking at the table, a slight frown. one could say she was bored or sulking, mind you if she heard she would rip out that someones neck. she hated feeling lonely..*snap out of it he just went to the counter!* she shock her head, seriously that voice was annoying... about the lean her head on her hand agian she could here the cling of a mug very near. she jumped in her set, eye widened slightly. she noticed that it was Fallen! "gods above i nearly jumped out of my skin! i have never NOT heard someone moving near me" nervous laugh escaped her. shit he was good, she couldn't lie the last time she had someone surprise her just like now, her jaw was snapped. she calmed down a bit taking the mug.
"thanks Fallen, sorry apparently im jum-" she noticed his frown, how the hell did that get back on his face. damn it i worked so hard for that smile. "he whats wrong? are you ok? did som-"
The performer was comeing this way, Ashen saw her out of the corner of her eye.
She whispered loud enough for only Fallen to hear her "put your scarf back up..put it up!" Ashen smile faded and all defenses went up. even her body went from relaxed to tense in second. she went from fun loving ashen, to the world was out to kill her.there was only one elf she trusted...well...now two. other elfs hated her for the way she was...a kintu...damn elf..wait..what?!?! Cute?!?!?!?! COUPLE?!?!?!?!
Ashen cheeks where as red as Tomatoes as she stared at her mug. do i reply? do i ignore? ignoring would be rude...but interrupting ones private conversation is also rude...damn it! she move her eye on Fallen only moving her face slightly, with a facial expression that read, Help me. she looked back down to her mug. pure Elfs made her uncomfortable...shit what do i do!

It didn't take Ashen's whisper to make him hide his face once more. As soon as the woman approached them, he knew about it. As she spoke he lowered his head, staring at Ashen from just under the fabric. She didn't look very happy about this either....in fact...she looked just about as happy as he was. Interesting, she didn't strike him as the hateful type. He also recognized the look in her eyes. She was unsure about how to handle this like he had hoped she would. But it looks like it would be up to him.
Like a switch that was flipped his entire demeanor changed. In an instant the friendly, laid back Drow was gone and in his place was the lethal assassin. Expression completely blank, he slowly stood before turning to meet the elf's eyes. He was taller than her by just under a foot, which also meant that she would have a good view under his hood. "You are either very young, or very naive to interrupt a private conversation in a tavern." His voice was quiet, his tone dangerous. "Particularly one involving an assassin."
There was an air of innocence around her that halted the words that he wanted to say. And there was also the fact that he didn't want to cause a scene. He was all about staying in the shadows, striking unseen. Not starting arguments or causing bar fights. He hoped that she would realize what he was and leave be him be, like what most other elves he met did.

Ashen didnt raise her head much, just enough so she could keep her eyes on Fallen. what if he where to leave? dont be stupid girl you know you would chase him, your gut told you for some reason you could trust him. your gut hasn't made your wrong yet and this girl, didnt sit right with you. something made Ashen uneasy about this elf,...man the day it her instincts where wrong would be her last.
Ashen tryed to speak to Fallen, but for some reason the words where stuck in her throat. she was scared, the same type of scared when she was a prisoner a while back. thats when Ashen finally noticed she was in the corner after franticly checking to make sure she wasnt shackled... her eyes locked to teh dark corner of the building. oh no...she was pinned...trying her best to keep calm her breathing started to increase.
she was trapped...trapped, trapped, those words circled in her head *your trapped foolish girl*....she was an idiot why didn't she side beside Fallen not across.. damn it keep calm, if he leaves...follow best you can. if he says....move seats....if a fight breaks out...she gripping her bandaged shoulder...what would she do? she may have talked big game before..but truthfully, she was in no condition to fight.
she held her mug, calm down. you have no idea whats about to happen. slow your breathing or someone going to notice your freaking out. your trying to be the towns best hunter, not a broken wreak...

She cocked her head to the side and looked at the man. "so you are an assassin!" she began to grin. completely ignoring the threat that he posed. she had met many people in her travels and none had piqued her interest like these two. normally she sang and danced and did not get involved with the people around her, doing that saved her from heartbreak.
she seemed giddy now. "i'm sorry i interrupted i really couldn't help it."
The kinto woman was flustered, her cheeks reddening. it was absolutely adorable!
"i would just like to talk for a moment, maybe learn something about this land. i'm very new here. i only arrived last week. and no one seems to want to speak to me." she was pouting now. she really did only want some company. she had been alone for so long that even hostile conversation, like this one, was making her happy.

head still down, and with her voice somewhat shaken she kept her eye on her cup, and her voice down and steeling her nerves. "i understand the burdens of loneliness more then anyone in wildgard, but i ask you to leave us be. i will be more then willing to speak with you some other time, right now i would like to spend time with an old friend and share aid with him. he has come very far just to catch up with me. i hope you understand." she look up the elf as she lied, she knew it would bad if a something where to happen.

Snapping back to reality, Gaulwin noticed the lavender kinto wave at him, acknowledging his staring. Damn it! He turned away quickly and cringed at himself, throwing his forehead down against the table. His eyes shut tightly, wincing not at the pain, but at the audible crack the table gave off from the blow. He slowly raised his head up, inspecting the damage done. Thankfully, this tavern's tables were sturdier than he thought, and in the dim lighting the slight crack wasn't overly noticeable. Vowing not to return his gaze to the mysterious table in the corner, he took to paying attention to the lovely elvish dancer. He was nearly lulled off to sleep with the wearing off alcohol and busy noises of the tavern, when he noticed two very different characters up by the barkeep. Both the man clad in black, and the bubbly elf girl were within mere feet of each other.
Gaulwin felt a tightness in his chest, and his dread only deepened as he saw the girl's curiosity lead her to the dark, corner table. Without much thought, he hurriedly gathered up his table's empty steins and returned them to the barkeeper, slowly trailing her. His eyes widened then, upon hearing her non-phased words. Assassin. Killer. Death. That man is dangerous, oh how I knew it... Gaulwin swallowed hard, sneaking a peripheral glance over to the table, the assassin looking down upon her. His lavender-haired table guest didn't seem all too pleased either. With that, he took a deep breath and made his way over to that table as well, hearing the elf's words of intrigue as he approached. He tapped her lightly on the shoulder, and cleared his throat.
"H-hey! Hey there, you're new here, yes? This man here seems to be a stranger, just as you, so perhaps asking him wouldn't be the most effective way to learn your bearings..." Gaulwin peered up and squinted into the man's face briefly, before turning back to her. "Say, would you join me for a drink? Your performance was the loveliest I've seen in years... leave these two to whatever they wish to converse about in peace, and perhaps I can help you find someone else who would be willing to tell you of the land and its people. I'll order you whatever you like, miss, and whatever information about here that I have will be yours."

Her heart felt like it was breaking at the kinto womans words. she understood, but for some reason her heart felt heavy. something kept drawing her to the woman, she felt like she needed to know who this woman was.
a light tap on her shoulder distracted her. turning around she saw the goat-man who had been passed out on the table not that long ago. she smiled kindly at him. "i would be honoured to join you for a drink." she gave up on the two as a lost cause, she could still keep an eye on them and maybe learn something about the woman.
"sorry for bothering you" she bowed deeply to both the dark man and the Kinto woman, locking eyes with her for a moment before turning around and weaving her way back to the his table.
The barmaid had cleared the many empty mugs that had been strewn about. taking an empty seat she sat down and crossed her legs, glad for the wall of bar patrons that blocked the cold air from the door. that was one thing that she disliked about her choice of clothing. a bare midrif was not a good idea in the cold north.

Unsure if this girl was either very stupid or up to something, fallen stood his ground. His eyes flashing dangerously, he stayed silent. He did not like elves, and he also did not like people who didn't have the good sense to fear him. Thanking Ashen silently for her lie, his piercing red gaze never left the elf.
When a timid figure approached the elf from behind, his guard rose even more. Opening his hand from the fist it had been clenched in, he tensed, ready to take up one of his knives if needed. But rather then an enemy the figure approached the elf. He caught the creatures gaze for a moment realizing that it was terrified of him. His brow twitched in satisfaction. But still he said nothing.
Yes. Go. Leave us alone.
But even after they were gone, the tension never left his body. Watching them until they moved across the room, he finally sat down again. Expression hard, he puled down his scarf once more, staring down at the table with narrowed eyes.

Ashen waited for Fallen to sit to relax her shoulder slightly, trying to keep calm seemed to be more of a trial then something that used to come naturally to her.still looking at her mug, face whiter then normal. curse that event before the snow fall, she feared elfs because of it. holding onto the cup so that way no one would see her hands shaking, eyes never leaving her mug. "s-so...Fallen..w-what else do you want to know?"
damn it even my voice is crackly and shaken, he is going to think something is up...hell she would be surprised if he didnt think something was up a while ago, especially with how he acted, she had to admit though. she was happen he stood to the elf, she would have just run and hid like some scared farm cat hiding in straw.

He didn't answer for a moment, turning over the events of the past few minutes in his head. Without looking up, he spoke. "I know why I dislike elves." Finally, he turned his eyes up to her. "My question is why do you?" She was clearly shaken, even more so then when they had first met out in the field. Could it be fear? For such a small diminutive thing such as that she-elf? Yes, he had to admit he did fear elves as well, they were the only ones who actually bested him in combat. But to fear one single small girl? Never.
It suddenly occurred to him that he actually wanted to know. It wasn't for business, or to further his own gain, but out of curiosity. And because....he was beginning to like Ashen and wanted to know. "Tell me your story and I'll tell you mine." Damn...was he really prepared to do that?

"you really want to know? no one has ever asked me to tell my story." she looked up at him with an expression of bother wonder, and confusion...is he going to be truthful in his if she is truthful as well? ah, throw caustion to the wind. you know he seems legitimate in wanting to know.
"i dont know why and even though we threaten to kill each other earlier i...honestly feel i can trust you."
she look back down her mug, "ok...story time, ill make it short, long ago when i was 4 my father left me and my mother. shorty after that the village was attacked and my mother and i fled. she taught me everything i know about the forests, river...pretty much anything outside this building. she helped me tune my nose so even in human form i can pick up smells. for example..." she looked up slowly, and sniffed the air, she pointed to a Barbarian near the counter. "he killed something 3 days ago, and it doesn't smell human, so probably and animal."
she looked back at him face sadden slightly knowing full well that maybe opening up this much may push him away, which right now she didnt want. her gaze move to the side as she tilted her head "when i was 6 a rabid bear attacked myself and my mother. bite her shoulder and throw her across the cave where were seeking shelter in, i remember runing to her only to be struck by that bear and feeling so much pain i couldn't move. when i woke up my jaw wasn't moving and blood was dry on my face. i got up only to be attack by something that grabbed me from behind. i pushed off the ground as best as i could and we fell to the ground. when i looked who grabbed me it was my mother. foam dripping from her mouth." she looked at him again this time as if checking to see if he was even still interested. well should finish this up.
"then after falling down a cliff side shorty after and breaking my shooting arm a hermit took me in, taught me how to cook, and how to use medicinal herbs for healing. after 19 years, i came here. found many youths in need of help, so i started a group called the silver scale. we offer help and in the only thing i ask in return is help, rather it be hunting, cooking or even cleaning for as long as the stay may be...my group is....slowly falling apart after my...capture..." she gripped her shoulder, the wound had never healed. most of the other wounds did but the one on her back and shoulder never did and served as a reminder of what happened
Ashen waited, that was probably enough. she didnt want to bore him with her back story.

Gaulwin hurried back to his table, never looking back at the danger he was just facing. Who knows what kind of weapons he's carrying, what kind of speed, precision, skill that he possesses. He thought to himself, wide-eyed. Why is he here in Wildgard? More so, why am I surprised? What with demons and sly individuals abound in this place... He got to the table and gave the fair elf a small bow. "I'm sorry to be brash, ma'am. I usually don't interfere with other people's business unless I'm truly concerned..." He placed a hand on the table and sat down, feeling the careful, watchful eyes on them from the corner. "But do you realize the extremity of the danger you were in back there? An assassin, a paid murderer is not someone that you take lightly. My dear, you're far too young and talented to be falling into such easily-avoidable danger." The look he gave her was stern, yet showed much compassion and worry. "I did not lie though, I will talk with you, and tell you all I know and have experienced, so long as you do not wander back to that table tonight. I won't go back on my word, either. Order anything you like. It's on me."
Breathing off some of his built-up tension, Gaulwin rubbed his temples. "My name is Gaulwin, by the way. I used to be a mountain-dweller. What may your name be, miss?" As he spoke to her, he double checked his belongings to make sure his own weapons were still there. Should something go terribly wrong... people would at least say he died with a blade in his hand, and not by being cut down mid-run.

The drow furrowed his brow listening to her story. He had come across many a sad tale in his years, hers seemed to be one of them. He felt a pang of sadness for her, it seemed that despite her hardships as a child she had still grown to be a caring and compassionate person. To take in and help people? He could not fathom it. For after his hardships as a child he embraced them, taking all of the bad things that had happened to him into himself and merging with them.
It was her final words that struck him. Frowning, he spoke. "Your capture?" Why did bad things always happen to good people? He could tell it was a sore topic, both mentally and physically considering how she grasped her shoulder.

She smiled. "assassins don't scare me, they never have." resting her elbows on the table, something she had been instructed to never ever do, she looked at Gaulwin, he was genuinely concerned for her well being. "my name is Rintalia, i'm a traveling performer."
Signalling to a barmaid she ordered herself some more wine, as well as a mug of ale for her companion. "so then!" she said brightly "what can you tell me of this land? i want to know everything. the people seem so nice, i may actually settle here"
her bubbly-ness was back, brooding did her no good. she would learn about the lavender Kinto somehow, what was important now was that she finally had someone to talk to.
