"Pan flutes?" Charlotte's eyes lit up slightly. She remembered the odd goat had played it back home, but not very often. Whenever she had the opportunity to listen in on a tune, it was always a pleasant and happy melody trying its best to cut through the tension of war. The thought brought a smile across her lips. This was a rarity in itself - a smile. She brought her hand up to her mouth, feeling a tad self-conscious after sporting a serious visage for months, but it only made her grin more prominent and showed off her dimples. It had been so long since she had indulged in such simple pleasures as song and dance. She moved her hand down to her chin so she could speak. "You play well, Theseus. I was listening earlier. I'm glad we have someone like you with our tribe." She then turned to Valourie and listened to her announcement. Surely, going in pairs was safer. For once, maybe she could heal instead of destroy, but she knew that when old habits kicked in she would defend her sisters to the death if she had to. A sudden pang in her chest appeared, remembering how she abandoned her people on the mountain. But she swore this time she would accept her fate, whatever it may be. One thing she had to keep in mind, was to retreat with her comrades when the situation called for it. That was far different than abandonment, it was preservation and safety measures. Charlotte nodded her head and smiled confidently to the Queen in return to her gesture. Not everything was about fighting here. She would heal when needed.
Shortly after the meeting ended, she spoke up to the others for the first time. "If anyone needs a scout, please tell me. I'm more than willing to accompany anyone, and I look forward to getting to know you all." Turning back to Theseus, she gave her shoulders a gentle roll to release any tension. "I wouldn't mind checking out this tavern with you sometime, Theseus. I'm sure there's some interesting people within. Also, if you had the time I'd like to hear about where you're from. Meeting another horned individual isn't common, I've been finding. Unless things are different here?" She briefly glanced at the woman Valourie was walking over to. Who was she, and why was she here? Was she an Amazon too? And if so, why was she so disconnected from the group? Perhaps she would introduce herself at a later time to try and find out.

Theseus said "I'm a long way from home my people are from a far away land called Greece I myself grew up in a small village where life was very simple. We were hunters and gathers mostly because we satyrs don't like hard work and prefer to dance, sing and enjoy life as much as we can. Sadly were not trusted much by humans because some satyrs steal their food and drink because they can't afford to pay for it, me being a bard I did alright when I ventured to the great city states." Theseus eyes lit up and he said "You look like a mighty warrior could you show me some tricks? I don't really know how to fight and I'm thinking being in amazon company I should at least know a little about the art of the sword."

Doing her best to listen to the Satyr and the woman he was now speaking too, she paused in her work. She could just barely hear them over the crackling of teh fire if she strained. With narrowed eyes, the grumbled to herself, 'If only I wasn't human right now. I would be able to hear them just fine.' She turned her head in their direction, hoping that looking over at them would allow her to read lips, or maybe join in on the conversation somehow. Instead, she ended up staring at the mark of Tyr.
She jumped back, rather startled, and nearly slipped off the small log she was resting on. Looking up at the Amazon, she felt colour rise slowly up her neck. Picking up the pieces of amour she was working on, she did her best to put on a calm face and go back to what she was doing. She quickly cleared her throat and spoke in reply, "I didn't hear you step over here so quickly. Is.. there something you'd like?" Though her calm facade was relatively effective, she didn't mask the confusion she felt nearly as well. 'Why is she over here? Does she want to ask me something? Or tell me something? I still don't know much about her, or what's she's doing here...'

The Valkyrie looked down on Fairclaw a long while before she smiled. "Relax, You're a Guest here, and as such you will be treated." The Queen sat beside the newcomer and set her mask aside. Swinging a Satchel around onto her lap she opened it and a small brown mammal poked its head out. He wore a black collar with a silver stud on his throat, and a red sash much like a Healer would. The Valkyrie looked over to another wordless Amazon and beckoned for the cheese beside her. Silently the Amazon obliged and tossed it round the fire. So Valourie could feed the Eager Mink. When the small creature was eating thankfully, Val turned her head back to the warrioress. "You seem uneasy, is there anything I can do to make you more comfortable?" She smiled, and for the first time since meeting the strangely uptight Warrior the stitches on her mouth curled, pulling on her wounds. Her eyes smiled along side her mouth, a strange yellow, even for an Elf.

Charlotte listened intently to Theseus as he spoke of his homeland. It sounded pleasant enough, aside from the mention of the humans. But their behaviour didn't surprise her - at least he didn't have to deal with the wretched kind that she had fought, and she felt relieved by that. "Greece? Hmm. I can't say I've ever been there." She nodded toward him and grinned. "I would gladly show you what I know sometime. Though I warn you, it may not be quite what you think. Most of my skills were learned out of desperation. I'm certainly not the very best in combat out there, but I'm willing to help you out."
Giving the satyr a friendly pat on the shoulder, Charlotte made her way over to Valourie and the other woman. Keeping her distance as to not be too intimidating, she sat near the stranger, offering her hand gently. She seemed a bit high strung. "I don't think we've met yet. What's your name? I'm Charlotte." She glanced down at the armour-in-progress. "That's some pretty nice work you've done so far.

Gently, she laid down her armour in her lap, and pulled her cloak around herself more tightly so that Valourie neither found it in the way, sat on it, or caught it under her feet. Lately, she'd been having a few issues with the edge being stepped on, and until she found the means and time to hem it, she'd just have to try and be careful so the whole thing didn't fray at once. Aalis pulled the pieces of leather out form underneath, and carefully tucked the cloak around her legs. A slight smile spread at the corner of her lips, 'I've yet to hear of a group of Amazons so welcoming of guests, though... What's so different here, Valourie?'
At the mental question, she looked over, only to be caught off guard by the woman's bright yellow eyes staring back at her. She would have glanced away immediately, if it weren't for noticing the smile turning up at the corners of the valkyrie's mouth. It surprised her, and Aalis automatically smiled back, one corner of her mouth pulling up more than the other. It was the first time she'd seen Val smile like that, and without the mask on, she looked very different. It was like staring directly into the reds and yellows of an open fire. Her gaze fell, unable to meet the piercing gaze for much longer than a moment, and did her best to switch her attention to the Mink instead.
"I, well... It's fine, really." she stumbled, as lying words never fell in her favour. Act? That she could do. Act, and sing, and talk, and if she ever had a reason, she could even dance. But she'd never been a terribly good liar. She found that acting was playing with the truth, distracting people from reality. But lying is denying it entirely. So rather than continue to deny something was wrong, she turned to reach in her bag. In a small pocket there was a package of dried meat she'd gotten from the Tavern just over a week prior. She pulled it out and broke off a piece to offer to the mink in Valourie's lap. "Here you go..." She tried to think of something decent to say as she made eye contact with the Valkyrie again, but instead rather lamely came up with the question, "What's his name?"
Footsteps padded closer, followed by a kindly voice, and Aalis looked up to see who it was. A girl with curved horns had walked over to address her. Blinking in mild surprise, she responded, "It's... Fairclaw." Quickly examining the girl, she raised an eyebrow as she had a slight recollection of another figure who wore the same clothing. The boy form when she first met Valourie. 'Wasn't it... Gaulwin, or something?' she mused, wondering about the cloak she very clearly remembered the kinto taking out of his bag. Though Aalis wondered about it, she said nothing. As she as in turn was being looked over. She smiled and thanked Charlotte kindly, though she was a tad bit smug. 'It seems crafting wasn't as inconspicuous as I had guessed' Aalis thought, somewhat amused. She looked down at her work. It wasn't terribly good quality, though she had been very careful to make it even. The piece in her lap with half woven through with the rope that would tie it on. It looked better than it actually was. "Honestly, it's only made to add a little bit of protection, without bulking up my bag when I'm not wearing it. You see," she tugged at a few strings, loosening them, "It's supposed to still lie flat when I loosen it a certain way. Since the leather is so thin, it really wasn't too hard..."

Valourie looked down on Fairclaw, feeling the strain of the cords on her lips, trying to force-hide her smile. 'She has no Idea what's come over her' The Valkyrie had this effect on most people. By now she was used to it by far, though it never failed to amuse her. On the Outside Fairclaw seemed calm, and kind, while internally she was confused and suspicious, her nature, by instinct. Though even deeper than that, Valourie was drawn to the soul, and the feeling of a sudden calm, a stillness whenever she was near. Worry-less, confident. This was her reason for living... if she could call it that. Everyone she passed had some sort of Inner turmoil, some calling tugging at them. To do some great deed... and that's why she was there. There was a duty she had to fulfill in Wildgard. Time was running out for alot of good souls... And the Valkyrie planned to save as many good people as she possibly could, in the meantime... She watched as Fairclaw presented the Mink with a Peace offering. The furry creature lifted his head and craned his neck to get a good look at Val as if to ask 'Do we trust this one?' She just Smiled and gave him a nod and a wink. The Mink graciously accepted the dried Meat, stuffing the remainder of the cheese into his mouth.
"His name is Asbjörn, a good friend of mine for many-a-century. Thank you for your kindness to him... He goes unnoticed for most of his days."
She turned her head, feeling the approach of Charlotte, watching her approach as the Ram too was overcome with curiosity of the new stranger among the camp. Wondering what was special about this one, as to be welcomed by the Valkyrie. Which brought her back to her earlier thought. 'the talk' As she cryptically called it. Whenever she had to address a newcomer and enlighten them with the strange ways of the Amazons.
"Fairclaw..." She began. "First of all, I'd like to welcome you to our humble encampment. We are a Female only Tribe of Amazons... with the exception of Theseus. He has been with us since he followed us away from his homelands, he refuses to leave... " She nodded her head to him, his ears perked at the mention of his name. "He means well and he keeps the Spirits lifted. I am the Queen of the Amazons, though I advise all of the women here to respect me as such, but not to call me their Queen. I am your friend and your Sister so long as you are here." She glanced at Charlotte and met her eyes, both women were full of wonder and estrangement, but it was no matter, soon they would be as sisters here.
"Now... You must have questions, as I do. I understand that both of us got off on the wrong wing and there are answers being withheld on both sides..." She looked at Fairclaw pointedly, feeling a small twinge of guilt pass. 'I know there is more to you than meets the eye, I'm just wondering when you'll reveal it to us.' she thought, looking innocently at her warriors armors. 'a little bit of protection indeed, but your protection, dear Warrioress, is all internal...'

After hearing his name Theseus trotted over to where the amazons were standing and saw a woman he didn't recgonize. With a smile on his face he said "Hello! Always good to see another pretty face in camp! I'm Theseus resident bard and bringer of merriment!" Theseus took a few steps back then pointed to the worn but still sharp short sword at his belt and said "Valouries been teaching me how to fight look at this move!" When he drew his sword he dropped it as soon as he finished drawing it and leaped back having startled himself with his own mistake. He smiled and said "whoops looks like I need more practice ha ha!" After picking up the weapon and sheathing it he sat down on the ground by the amazons around valourie feeling slightly embarrassed from both the chuckles and stern looks from some of the other women outside their circle.

Charlotte nodded to Fairclaw, and smiled. "I see. Still, I find it impressive that you can make such a thing on your own. Where I came from, I was never taught such a skill, so all my work is shoddy." She blushed a tad on her left cheek and let a few chuckles shake her. "Honestly, everything I'm wearing is army issued, or is what remains of things given to me. The seamstresses and craftsmen from my land were plenty, and quick workers. Though I doubt this will last me for years on end, they did well for time constraints..." She caught herself rambling, and stopped there. She gave a small smile at how this guest didn't seem as shy as she first thought. Charlotte nearly raised her hand and acted on impulse, ready to address Fairclaw with the proper custom of her people - but she did not allow herself to. It resembled a gentle version of a headbutt, and was typically used when a relationship is first formed. Goats and Rams were more rough around each other, butting heads quickly with little control, often with more force if angry or excited. But for someone who wasn't familiar with this gesture, such as Fairclaw, it would only be polite of Charlotte to steady her head cautiously and gently tap the other's forehead against her own. Had she been on the mountain, she would have gone through with this action... but she was an Amazon now. Doing so felt like it would isolate her too much from her sisters, and she wasn't sure if such a thing would be acceptable. Her past was something she didn't want to pull up in any form aside from stories and memories.
She cocked her head towards Valourie, watching her as she talked to Fairclaw, and finally let her gaze fall upon Asbjörn. Waiting until he met her eyes, she gave him a firm, small bow of her head, wondering what other forms he had taken before this mink state. Upon hearing a thump from behind her, she turned to see Theseus' weapon lying on the ground. Her disapproval slightly showed through at his fumble, as was habit from the mountain, but then she remembered he still had much to learn. "I'll gladly assist you in that sometime, Theseus, although Valourie could probably do a better job than I. But do not worry, you'll catch on."
