wow watch the fucking language
Thistle glared at Star, insulted. "Honestly? Do you think I would lose control of a weapon?" He asked, cuttingly. He glanced at the book in Starfire's hand. "What have you got there?"

With a slight giggle she smirked. "Maybe. It's totally possible. And in my hand is a spell book. Its kinda.... Boring. Cool. But boring." She said nodding her head.

Grinning, Thistle walked over. "May I?" he asked, putting out his hand.

Pulling the book back she pointed at the weapon in his hand. "Put it back first then you may."

Grumbling, Thistle turned around and placed the blade back in it's groove. Stepping towards Starfire, he once again reached out, eyes expectant. "So? Can I?"

She placed the book in Thistle's hand. "Don't screw around. But knowing you.... You'll screw something up." As she said that she turned around and began walking around the well. The well's energy was strong and beautiful in the eyes of a Demon.

Frowning, Thistle called out. "I resent that!" Muttering rude words under his breath, the monk began to flip through the book, eyes glinting.

It had been a long week...a painfully long week. Balthezars forces were strong and well trained, even moreso then his own forces. Not to mention that there seemed to be no end to them. When his squadrant finally took down the legions of demons coming at them even more showed up as if from thin air. Slowly but surely, his enemies were gaining ground. Ground that he had protected for centuries.
Even now, the battle still raged. So why was the armies general limping, haggard, down the halls of the palace?
Not twenty four hours previous, General Zellel was on the front lines locked in combat. That particular battle had been raging for hours, days...but even a demon such as he ran out of stamina. Slowly, his movements slowed, his fire dying down. And in one fateful moment, a particularly large and well trained enemy soldier had managed to spear his weapon up and through the vulnerable point in the generals armor and into his chest. From that moment on things only got worse until he was forced to retreat; return to base until he was well enough to take up arms again.
Grimacing at both the thought of his defeat and his now bandaged injuries Zell sighed. It was at that moment that something caught his eyes. The throne room door, which was usually magically sealed and barred, was slightly ajar. Frowning, he considered calling the guards since he was both unarmed and without his armor but decided against it. Pushing the door open, he stepped inside, his golden eye falling immediately to a doorway he'd never seen before.
Narrowing his eyes he limped towards it, curious.

Starfire walked around the colums but stopped at the stairs, she stared up where the entrance was, the light from outside illuminating the way. She knew it wasn't smart leaving the entrance open but Halizar rarely sat in his throne, there was always something he needed to be doing. Turning her attention back to Thistle she walked back to him before pulling the book from his grip. "Alright I think you've seen enough." She said with a smirk across her face.

Pouting, Thistle reluctantly relinquished his grasp on the book. "It was boring anyhow.." He muttered. Grimacing, he began to suggest that they head back, when his acute hearing picked up footsteps above them.
Cursing, Thistle motioned to Star. "We need to get out of here NOW. There's someone coming, and I don't want to fight off a demon in here."
Pausing, Thistle turned on the spot, slowly. Staring at the red armor on the wall, he decided against running. "Star. Scratch that. Help me get this armor on. Quickly" He urged, sprinting towards the wall.

Frowning, the general entered the dark staircase, his outstretched hand catching flame to light his way. Grimacing in pain with each step down from the generous stab wound to his thigh Zell slowly made his way down into the darkness.
To his surprise the pain faded slightly with his decent, his depleted power level rising with the decent. Could this be?? No....how could it?? He'd resided in this palace for nearly sic hundred years and he'd never learned the location of the well. Who would be so careless to leave the pathway revealed?
Slopping suddenly, the demon stood still on the stair contemplating if he should finish his decent. His lord would not be this careless....and as far as he knew no one else knew the location....so whoever was down here must be an enemy. An enemy he wasn't sure he would be able to defeat in his condition.
Really, he was in quite awful shape. Right after being stabbed by a lucky shot to the chest, he had been mobbed while distracted. Before he had managed to fry all of his opponents in one last burst of flame, the enemy managed to dish out a couple stab wound to his thigh, some sort of acid down his right arm and a rather painful blow to the head.
Finally, he decided to continue. If he were to die today....finally seeing the coveted well would make it worth it.
Setting his jaw, Zell continued down the narrow stairs.

Starfire's eyes went wide as she heard the faint sound of foot steps. She knew she had made yet another mistake, taking Thistle back to the plane and yet again, leaving the doorway open to the well. "Are you crazy?!" She whispered quickly and quietly walking back over to Thistle. "You can't wear that! I won't let you!" She still had the book in her hand, her grip got tighter as she heard the foot steps quiet for a moment. "Shh. Just stay quiet. Please, we don't need this again, you don't need to raise a weapon. Let me handle this. Just this once." Star pleaded to Thistle, she didn't want to start a fight or in the end have someone dead. "Just stay quiet. Please. I wanna prove that I can do something for once. Please."

Growling, Thistle struggled with the armor. He shook his head at Starfire, annoyed at her reluctance to help "I'm going to pretend to be Destael" He whispered, exasperated."I'm not an idiot. Fighting a demon at their power source is suicide." He finally managed to put on the heavy armor, grimacing at the unexpected weight. Now that he had inhuman strength, he wasn't used to feeling the weight of objects.
Grinning, he touched the amulet at his neck. A red helm appeared on his head, glowing briefly before solidifying. Face and body obscured, he kicked his discarded weapons behind the well before sitting on the well itself.
"I'm ready" he whispered, sweat beading his forehead.

After finally making it down the rest of the many stairs Zell was visibly tired, even despite the power that the well provided. It was giving him a power boost, yes, but no amount of power could heal wounds like his.
Face a grimace of pain, he finally rounded the last spiral and laid eyes on the secret room, letting the fire he held in his hand die.
Immediately upon entering his eye narrowed in irritation and anger at the scouts presence. Not seconds after, it widened in shock and surprise at the familiar armored figure with their back turned to him. The awe at the rest of the room...where he was... didn't even register in his mind. "M-my lord?"
Completely forgetting about Starfires existence, he dropped painfully to one knee. "Forgive me, I thought you were dead." But even as the words were leaving his mouth, he started reading the situation with senses other then his sight. His initial shock made way for suspicion as he tried to get a power reading from his warlord but couldn't. Was it the power from the well blocking his senses?? Then again, she was supposedly human....maybe that's why he couldn't feel her presence.
But the more the thoughts raced in his mind, the less the situation made sense. Why would she be here? Why...was the door left open after so many centuries of secrecy?

Starfire raised a hand about to speak but lost all words as she saw Thistle now armord and covered. Her jaw dropped but closed as soon as the sound of someone talking. She turned quickly golding the book behind her back noticing that the figure was Zell. "Z-Zell." Her voice was weak and quiet, she was shocked to see him, she thought he was off in battle for a couple more days. Turning back quickly she felt a sharp pain twist in her chest almost feeling as if she was being stabbed, but she wasn't. Syn's channel of course of all times had to hurt now. Her breathing quickened and her eyes widened as she clutched her chest, her knees began to tremble but she tried to keep standing.
Star looked down as she felt the pain get stronger but the power of the well fighting with each other. "Z-Zell. I thought you were supposed to be fighting?" She questioned, the strength in her voice slightly returning. Turning back to Thistle she glared at him, almost giving him a warning.
