Ashen stood looking at the assortment of flowers she gathered for the funeral of Idina. White carnations for remembering the good she did, dead white roses for the lose of a scale mate. A wooden carving of the scale icon, that her body held.
Ashen looked at the body, the soul still trapped within it's flesh tomb, she wanted nothing more then to take it and release it to the heavens where she knew it belonged. Ashen stood, a grim line on her face as she still took in the lose of one of her kin.

Jay stood next to his mother, having just got back from roaming around the town and visiting the spot that they had found her body. In his mind he went back to that day, remembering the screaming of Thea and Aria, the anger he felt when he saw the minister there, the way the lizard kinto had freaked out, seeing Lila and Ilea taking the body of Idina from the tree. He also replayed telling Lila it was her fault, but it wasn't. He looked at the body of the girl, the one who reminded him so much of his younger sister. She hadn't deserved this.

Aria stood hunched, her gaze downward. She could not yet bring herself to look at the body before her. Although rage and adrenaline had made her strong initially and she was able to look upon her friend, it was gone now and all that remained was a husk of her usual self. Her breaths went unheard soft and weak. She could not yet bring herself to say a word. She only clutched a sprig of lavender to lay upon her friend's grave when the time came.
Idina may not have been anything like any of her other sisters, but she loved her as much as any of them. Maybe even more.

"her soul is trapped...normally a fire would be used..." Ashen spoke grimmly, taking a few steps towards Idina. "but fire is not the answer for this one...should i take her soul and release it where it belongs, before we bury to body?" her voice still low and filled with regret. her gaze never left Idina, she could feel her eyes begin to burn as she gaze upon the body. a reminder of her failure as a leader, a failure in a protector...what more did fate have in store.

Thea was immobile. She stood ridged as if frozen by an ice ball or icy blast. Hands clasped in front of her, the druids expression was that of nothing. As if all feeling had left her body and stowed itself in the flowers around Idina's body. The druid hadn't spoken, she had barely looked in anyones eyes. Another dead sibling, another family member gone. Thea couldn't feel her feet.

Drogo was still in disbelief. Idina’s body lay lifeless for days now; nearly unheard of in this land. She wasn’t going to stand again. No longer would she be found tending the gardens with utmost care, or mending the wounded that needed her. Her smile, bright and cheerful as the warm morning sun would never again cross her face.
His hand firmly clenched one of many bottles, unused to the emotions racing through him and his comrades. A friend so dear, so abruptly lost. He took another somber swig. What else was there to do at a time like this? 'It’s too damn late to do anything that would matter' he thought.

Ilea stood quietly, looking at the body of her first friend at Wildgard, the one who had led her here in the first place. If it weren't for Idina, she would never have made it here. She would've never made good friends with some and had fun times with her. Ilea easily considered her her best friend, and now seeing her dead... lifeless body, Ilea couldn't process very much.
The first night Ilea had cried. She cried into her wive's shoulder and she cried into her pillow. On the second night, she broke things. She broke a mirror and had destroyed a tree in the forest from hitting it with her sword. Now she sat quietly in the background, her heart sunken at the bottom of her chest.
Aurelia stood next to her, and squeezed her hand. Before she'd come, Ilea had taken her own sword and cut her braid straight off of her head. She wasn't going to be sweet anymore. She was going to find out who killed her best friend, why, and put them to justice.
And she'd do so by any means possible.

Aria shuffled close to her husband. His mere presence helping her, giving her the courage to speak up. Even if he was as distraught as her, and currently taking a swig from his flask, he was a comfort. "Where I come from we burn our lost upon pyres." she spoke softly, her head still lowered. the lump in her throat had caught her. but she suppressed it once more "I believe that would be a wise choice. Scatter her among flowers so that she may become them." The lump rose once more and tears came to her.
"Beautiful, delicate, flowers."

"No." Ilea immediately protested. This is the first she'd spoken upon her arrival. She stood now, still clenching onto Aurelia's hand. "She can't be burned. She can't. She has... had... She had a phobia of fires." Ilea paused. "Her father died in a fire. There's no way we can burn her, even if she is already dead."
She let go of Aurelia's hand now, taking a step forward. She was easily the smallest in the room, but made her presence known. "Bury her with flowers, I agree with, but I absolutely oppose to her being burned. It's not right."

"i said released her soul...not burn her..." Ashen looked back, annoyed. her features softened quickly as her voice returned to is low soft tone. "i have some powers still over souls...and i can lead it to the heavens where she belongs..." she looked back at the body in front of her.
"i intended to bury here with these beautiful flowers...that pale in comparison to the beauty that is her and her soul. i couldn't protect her in life...the least i can do is make sure she ends up where she belongs" Ashen remained calm, though inside her own will was in turmoil. what was she to do, what did her people think of her.
"i intend to mark her gave with the very symbol of our people, and to lay her body to rest. not even torches will be lit, i promise you this." Ashen hung her head low as she spoke. directing her words to everyone behind her, and in a way to Idina who lay before her.

"Ilea if we do not burn her and spread her ashes all she will become is a pile of mush and bones, magic can only be used for a short amount of time to keep the body intact." Jay said to the deer kinto before turning to his mother. "Release her soul. Send her where she belongs but do not make the decision not to burn her yet" he said with a slightly shaky voice. She still belonged here in a way, as he fully believed that she was taken before her time. he turned away from them all before speaking again "we will wait until Lila arrives. It seems they were both confused of whether or not the were still engaged so I will treat it as the engagement was still on. Lila shall get the last call on whether or not we bury her body as is or if we burn it with most or her belongings, though I refuse to take the cloak from Lila for that."

Lila stepped forwards into the garden, drawing the cloak tighter around her shoulders. She stood a bit apart from the rest of the group, watching for a few moments before speaking up. "Burn her. As much as she hated fire in life, if her soul is separated from her body beforehand she can feel no fear." Her voice was dull, monotone. In one hand she held the flower crown Idina had made for her, in the other her sword. "You may burn her belongings, but Jay is right. You will not take the cloak from me." Lila's words momentarily turned dark and her eyes narrowed. "Her spellbook should be in the Scale still, Stelleo gave it to me shortly after she died."

Ashen looked back at her song silently, with a slight nod she turned her gaze back to Idina. Raising her hands to hover above the corpse, she became to concentrate in raising the soul from its fleshy prison. black veins began to spider across Ashens skin as silver runes decorated her body. 'come Idina, your soul will be lead to where it belongs. i will guild you, please trust in me now as i see your soul to a greater plain, where you will feel no more fear, or pain.'
Ashen voice echoed in her mind as she continued her spell, the only blessing of her Angel side, and Dark lady powers. Ashen hissed and Grunted in pain as the soul slowly merged from the body. Pain lashing out and ripping though Ashen, but still she concentrated. After a moment the soul hovered before Ashens grasp, carefully she pulled it closer to her. the soul was white and pure, the purest ashen had seen in a while.
slowly ashen turned now exhausted, looking up to the people around her. "any final words before i send her off?" as fatigue set in, Ashen felt to her knee; keeping her grip loose around the soul careful not to damage in in anyway.

Aria was shocked. She had never known this to be possible. To see one's soul. For it to be tangible and of the purest white she had ever seen.
"Idina?"She softly asked. "I-Is that..her?" She wavered in her voice, last words things to say, oh she had so much to say so much to tell her things she wished they had done things she wished Idina could have seen simple things like how they should have had tea one more time, complex things as seeing her off on her wedding day.
So many words how could she sum all of them up. tears welled as she walked forth, "Idina" She started. "I am so, so sorry that you were taken so soon. This was not meant to be." A ter fell from her eye as she continued on. "but know now you will be one wit the trees and the earth and the flowers,"She choked. "No strife shall befall you any longer." She bowed her head and stepped back again. Back to the side of the living it felt.

Ilea was about to lash back at Jay, when Lila came in and said that she should be burned. This was not the Lila she remembered from one year ago. This Lila was different.
Ilea shook her head as she watched the soul above Idina. Or rather, Idina's soul above her officially empty body. She took a step closer. She'd never seen such a phenomena as this. One's soul, visible to all others.
Eventually, she found the courage to speak. "I'll see you on the other side some day. Hopefully not too soon, my friend. I will miss you." Aurelia stepped beside her, clearing her throat.
"I'm not sure how you thought've me, but it probably wasn't all that well mannered. I just wanted you to know that I though of you as a friend, and that you will be greatly missed." Ilea watched tears form in her wife's eyes. "Do some of your weird tree stretches for me, okay?" The two then backed away for anyone else to have their chance at saying something.
